My First 20 days: It'sJustVern's Thoughts Aug 6, 2014
imageSo it's been about 20 days since I first came on this site. At first, I didn't know anyone, didn't know how anything worked, and what anything meant. After many fastings, several castings, a few rookie and frookies, chatzys, karma, apples, keys, and color levels, I have realized two things: The game of trust and deceit is really difficult and there's more to winning than placing in the Final 3.

The Game of Trust and Deceit is Really Difficult

I've enjoyed watching shows like Amazing Race and Big Brother. While meeting random people is difficult enough, trying to find people to trust and trying to deceive others makes it that much harder. I enjoy trying to find people to work with and getting nervous about their trustworthiness. Its really nerve-wracking when you have to make moves like turning on your alliance, especially when you are playing with them in another game, or when you feel like you've built a connection with them. The feeling of playing in a game like Big Brother is fun, until you find yourself on your way out, or worse, backstabbed. Unlike the real Big Brother game, if you lose, there's always another game. That's what makes these games easier to make mistakes. Now if only these games didn't have inacts, these games would be more awesome.

There's More to Winning than Placing in the Final Three

I've placed in the top three several times and won a couple 1st place spots, which feels great. You get your karma and your money and health, but theres one thing I enjoyed about playing on this site that happens whether or not I win the game. Most of these games, I've been able to meet people and connect with them, not just to team up and win the game, but to know who the person behind the avatar is. I've met people younger and about my age, from different countries and states, with different ethnicities and styles of living.

Here are several people I have met and played over the last 20 days. The first person I met in my first game was ilovetosing, from Malaysia. A couple games later, I played with sufyan123, who I made a strategic game move on with sheldon1098 and ajsweetheart. Then I played a game with flashgordon, where my game ended early when our alliance was leaked. I've played a couple times with dibby1010. My second final three finish came with justin41307 and ebenezerianj. I ran into a funny guy carlo_costly. Had 2 more top 3 finishes with No1knowz790, JERSEYDUDE, JonMcGillis, and Bpfeiff22. Had a good game with sherman77 but got out early. I got backstabbed by zack112510. Had a top three finish with englishbb and his challenges and am currently developing new allies with Jdempewo, mrlucky1228, and 1chance. 3 of my closest friends I've made on this site are swaggy from Canada, and the #fbboyz XxBrownTownxX from Canada, and MrAwesome24 from Arizona.

I've enjoyed getting to meet the people I've met, whether or not I end up winning the game. It's been a great 20 days of fun, heartbreak, domination, upsets, and downfalls. Here is to more great games and awesome people to meet.
