ManniBoi - “3” by Britney Spears
I really LOVE this song from Britney. I was really out here as a teenager stanning this song about threesomes. I think this song actually progresses really well. Even though it has a really standard pop song structure, there are levels that this song brings that really elevates it. The bridge paired with the final chorus really snaps so hard. I won’t say Britney can’t do no wrong, but she really does hit a lot of the time, and this certainly hit the spot. Loved it.
Mathboy9 - “22” by Lily Allen
This was really cute. I loved Lily’s delivery in this song, and she actually makes me want to pay attention to the lyrics. It feels like she’s telling a story more than she’s singing a song, and I find that quite charming. The chorus was easily my favorite part of the whole song. The beat was nice, a little campy but fun nevertheless. This type of song was very easy to listen to, and I enjoyed this one quite a bit.
LovelyKiss - “24 Hours” by Sky Ferreira
This song really kept my attention, which is great considering I don’t really know a lot about this artist. The verses were very sexy, and I loved her lower register, especially compared to the transition to the chorus where she’s kinda screaming. The guitars in the chorus were a nice touch, I wish they were incorporated more throughout the song. This was honestly so good, I loved this song from start to finish.

Olympia - “1979” by Smashing Pumpkins
So I’m familiar with this song, but I never knew the name or the artist, and never thought to look it up. If I’m being honest, I find this song very boring. I never really cared for the vocals in this song because I can BARELY hear them. I feel like that is such an important part to any song, and they are drowned in this boring guitar and drum beat. Maybe if the instrumentation was cooler I could get behind that decision, but it’s pretty standard and basic. I do think that this song has aged tremendously well considering I still feel like I hear it all the time at random places, and I feel like a lot of indie bands in the early-mid 2010s were inspired by this type of sound, but I really couldn’t be bothered with this song I’m afraid.
Lexeyjane - “2002” by Anne-Marie
This song plays every day at my work. I just worked a ten hour shift and literally heard it today LMAO. I’ve always found this song to be a bit basic. The beat is pretty minimalistic, it’s just a guitar over some pop beat. The vocals aren’t particularly impressive either, I don’t think she sings with a lot of energy. Maybe she was going for a more chilled out vibe, but I wasn’t really feeling it. This song really doesn’t leave me feeling inspired or wanting to look up more of her discography. I didn’t really care for this.
MichelleObama - “23” by Miley Cyrus feat. Wiz Khalifa and Juicy J
I have to commend you because this is a pretty bold entry. Unfortunately, I really can’t even pretend to ironically stan this. I just found this song to be pretty dumb. There is certainly a time and a place for a song like this, but I don't know when that would be for me. I don’t think Wiz or Juicy J add anything to this song, and I don’t think Miley sounds great in it either, and that woman can certainly sing. This song is just very messy and bad.
