Welcome to week 3 of Insanity’s Song Contest. Last week, you were tasked with submitting a song that reminded me of summer. NicoleF won the last challenge, and they were tasked with the important duty of ranking everyone from strongest to weakest competition in their opinion. The reason for doing this because this list will divide you into two groups for the week. Here is the order NicoleF has ranked you all from strongest to weakest in the competition

With this ranking, I have decided to divide you all into two groups. NicoleF will be in group one, and his highest ranked competitor, Lexeyjane, will be in group two. The second highest ranked competitor, rodrigueseve, will be in group one, and the third highest ranked competitor, LovelyKiss, will be in group two. This pattern will continue down the line until we have two groups of eight (in retrospect I guess I could’ve just random.org’d this shit but I wanted to be DRAMATIC).

Now that you’re in your musical groups, let me tell you what the theme is… GROUPS! For this challenge, I want you to send me your favorite song from one of your favorite music groups. Your group must have at least three members in it. It can be a group that is still performing and releasing music together, or a group that has disbanded and gone their separate ways. I will NOT be accepting collaborations from solo artists, it needs to be a group that regularly performs together. Despite the fact that you are put into two groups, you will still be judged individually for your song.
Now before you choose your songs, I have one final announcement to make. This week will be a DOUBLE ELIMINATION. Whoever has the worst song from each group will be eliminated from the competition. Remember group 1, NicoleF does have immunity this week as long as they submit a song that fits the category, so the competition will be slightly stiffer for you folks.
Also one final warning. I’m a little disappointed that in week 2, two of you already started repeating artists. I will warn you all right now, do not expect to win this competition by submitting the same artist over and over. I do not want to impose strict rules at this point about who anyone can and can’t send since it’s still very early in the competition, but I would like to see more diversity in your music tastes and selection of artists as we progress. Some of you in two weeks have already shown great versatility, and as we go further in this competition, your versatility is only going to be tested more and more.
Please submit your song within 24 hours (Saturday, December 5th at 10:50AM EST). Failure to submit a song within the time frame will result in disqualification from the competition. Best of luck!
I think The Chicks released some of the best work in 2020, and imo it was absolutely snubbed at the grammys. this song, in particular, shows that they are way more than a basic country group, this is an excellent pop melody with beautiful vocals/harmonies from the singers (sorry i cant embed, im on mobile)
