Best of TSC 2019: AlanDuncan

Dec 16, 2019 by Insanity
Next up on my countdown we have one of TSC's more scandalous contestants, the incomparable AlanDuncan

Alan has always been one of the more reckless contestants in Tengaged Song Contest, and 2019 was no exception. No matter what theme was presented, Alan always remained bold with his submissions, and stayed unabashedly himself.

Alan tried to repeat past successes of former winners like Rhys and MNEK, but these efforts failed tragically. He really made a splash (in the toilet bowl) when he won TSC 348 with Cher Lloyd's "Oath," allegedly submitted when he forgot to flush the toilet after he's had a SHET. Additionally, Alan almost won TSC 372, the much coveted covers week. Unfortunately, it was discovered his cover was already submitted, and he had to forfeit the crown to Holly Valance (but he pushed Miranda Cosgrove into top ten so gay rights).

Alan was also part of a very important moment this year in TSC. In TSC 358 when the contest was at its peak, Alan nonchalantly submitted Jennifer Lopez's not so hit song "First Love." Despite Virginia's song receiving three 12s in the semi, she tragically voted to give Jennifer Lopez one singular point, and it was the one point that pushed Virginia out of finals that week. It was an important lesson for all of us that we should always strategically vote when in a semi final to prevent ourselves from being pushed out by one point.

If there is one word I can think of to describe Alan's TSC career in 2019, it would be...

My favorite AlanDuncan entry of 2019 is...

Tiësto, Mabel - God is a Dancer

AlanDuncan submitted Tiësto, Mabel in TSC 373 and received 8th place with 82 points (6 points given).

Alan did not let his dethroning of the covers crown derail his efforts to win another TSC, and he brought forward a real banger with this song. God is a Dancer is a lot catchier than I would like to admit, but it's such a fun and energetic dance banger. Mabel really shines in this track, and even though Alan really brought forward a lot of these types of female-heavy dance tracks, this one definitely one of his stronger efforts in my opinion.
