In the blog, I said there was pattern the numbers I gave you all follow. Well, here was what I used to get the numbers I gave you:
I used values from the letters of the alphabet as well as the numbers to get a sum number from your username and then added the digits from that sum together until I was left with one single digit. For the letters, I used the letters as they appeared on the alphabet, so A = 1, B = 2, C = 3, and so on and so forth all the way to Z = 26. And then the numbers were obviously added by themselves, but they were added as separate digits, so for example, if your username had the number 51 in it, I would add it as +5+1 instead of +51. 0’s and space bars did not count for any value and so were excluded in the addition process.
Now, I messed up with my own username (thankfully I only messed up one other time in the PYN. Everyone else I got right from the start) and gave myself the wrong number, probably because I confused the C to be 23 instead of the 3 it should have been. So the addition of my name went as follows: 9 + 3 + 1 + 18 +21 + 19 + 13 + 1 + 18 + 11 = 114, and then the 1 + 1 + 4 added up to equal 6, so really, my number was actually 6 instead of 8. Notice how the spacebar was not included in adding the numbers up and instead what was added up was the “Icarus” and the “Mark”.
Next, let’s take TaraG’s username. The numbers from her name added as so: 20 + 1 + 18 + 1 + 7 = 47. Obviously, 4 + 7 does not make a single digit, so they were added to go down to 11. From there, the 1 + 1 would obviously equal 2, which is how she got the 2.
For our final example, let’s take @Eva1996’s username. Remember when I said that numbers in usernames were added as separate digits rather than all as one? Here is where this apples, so let’s take a look at how Eva’s name adds up: 5 + 22 + 1 + 1 + 9 + 9 + 6 = 53, and then 5 + 3 = 8. You were the only other one I messed up on, so sorry. :( In your case, I mistook the “V” to be worth 23 instead of 22, so you ended up with 9 when you should have been numbered an 8.
