Should BETS be HIDDEN from Players?

Jun 19, 2009 by HeyItsDerek
In almost all of my rookies games, the players are constantly comparing how many bets each person has. How much people bet on you can be a significant indicator of how well you will do a game.

If you have a lot of people bet on you, obviously, the greater majority believes you will do well in the game.

Most people usually perfer to have more bets. Believing that the more bets they have, the more support that is garnered towards them to win.

But in almost all of my games, there has ALWAYS been talk about evicting me just because of how many bets I have.

So, would it be better if the players of a Rookies game not be able to see how many bets they have until the game is finished? Of course, looking at one's record can impact one's judgment on someone else's skill.

But I was just think the Bets make a pretty big difference as well. It's just SOMETHING ELSE that can alter how the game can play out and I think without it - it would better even out the playing field.

Just my opinion :)

You should only be allowed to look at your own bets...

No because I think it's fun to see how many bets someone gets

It reminds me of betting odds like for BB UK, I love it

They should be revealed after the game.

Yep that's what I said. I think it would be better

the only downfall for the people betting for profit then is, they can't see who the major leader is. Which, I actually like better because it will prevent everyone going after one person, which seems to trend every game. I love the idea, it will spread out money and make it a hella lot more difficult to make a profit from a game, thus, making money more valuable and less inflated!

lol the money isn't inflated in this game. there is no money market in Tengaged lool
Sent by HeyItsDerek,Jun 19, 2009
well no, think about it, it is actually inflated
the more money there is around, the less value everything has
inflation.
less money there is around, the more valuable it really is
Sent by Knagaroo,Jun 19, 2009
yeah i understand but the prices of everything is still the same. therefore, nothing is inflated even with more money.

and with inflation, that means that the VALUE OF MONEY is going down and prices are going up.

the rules of inflation doesnt work in this game because we are constantly getting more money, making the value of money less, but the prices are staying the same. xD

...bitch thinks he is wikipedia or some shit.

Inflation would raise the prices the auctions reach. Since the introduction of prices which can be altered by players (the auctions), inflation and deflation has begun to take hold (though not at the same time) very subtly. Still, it's nothing to worry about for now. It's fairly likely betting is removing some money, and the shops are removing more. It would take aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaages for inflation to begin, IMO.

Good idea however if someone like for example me nom an awesome player like for example phanne and we don't know the bets, I would still get neg mails for nomming a great player. That would conclude that the great player has lotta bets.
