Survivor Maryland Allstars Episode 2 Edgic

May 6, 2018 by Hannah_Parks
This week was a huge bonus for the men and a big knock on the Furiosa tribe this week. With four members of Urukhai getting more confessionals than anyone on Furiosa and the fact remaining seven members of Furiosa received UTR ratings while nobody on the Urukhai received any, is a big indicator of which way this season could possibly go, so with that being said, lets jump right into the edgic.

Sierra | 0 Confessionals | UTR1
_________________________
What can I really say about Sierra's edit really, in a total of 90 confessionals by contestants she has managed to have 1 across 2 episodes, which is a terrible sign she isn't going to be a significant character going forward, her edit was the same as last time, basically under the radar with little to no screen time. Her only saving grace was when Holli and Shannon talked about having her in their alliance, that is what saves her from getting an INV rating this week. I fear for Sierra's future however, because two UTR ratings back to back this early is not a good sign for someone going far into the game. Sierra's edgic needs to jump into action soon with CP edits without negative tones if Sierra is to jump back into the winner contenders bracket.

Nicole | 0 Confessionals | UTR1
_________________________
Nicoles last week MOR edit, it seemed as if Nicoles journey could have begun somewhere sooner rather than later. The editors however didn't think as to include Nicole in any strategy sessions, nor any self-story development, which is rather odd to me. Now with Ryan out of the game, I feel like Nicoles story will be a rinse and repeat of her last season, where she'll find herself voting with a majority alliance and only making moves when it becomes too late to actually be able to build a resume. Nicoles story needs to establish her character and own story arc before it is overrun with a much better storyline.

Siona | 1 Confessional | UTR2
________________________
Siona had a pretty decent premiere episode, while I labeled it as a negative undertone, she was at least able to explain her reasoning behind the moves she wants to make going forward, her getting an under the radar edit only tells me that more than likely my suspicions were correct and that her claiming she can't play without Ryan may be a real factor now that Ryans gone and she'll kind of fall under in the edit. On top of that she's only seen either in a negative light and saying negative things, because for me personally I felt her comment on beating the guys asses and wiping off the smug look on their faces, almost came off as if it was supposed to be directed at Chris L., because I for sure didn't get any vibe that other than Chris L., anyone else really was smug about winning the challenge. Overall Other than the Ashley vs Siona story arc I don't see Siona's edit going anywhere unless she can pick up some neutral or positive CP edit storylines soon.

Victoria | 1 Confessional | UTR2
__________________________
Victoria was prominent character on Terrapin Trials, if not in the Top 5 most worthy contestants to return. So, to see her with back to back UTR ratings is only showing me one of two things, either Austin wants to pull the wool under our eyes and have her edit pick back up at the merge, or she's without a shadow of a doubt a premerger, we've seen it in both episodes now, everyone talking about how big a threat Victoria is, regardless of whether or not they'd want to align with her. On top of all that, I'm almost certain she is the first target if the girls are to go to tribal, which will be her one and only probably CP episode. Austin is basically, in my eyes, trying to tell us that even though she's a huge threat and great strategist, she isn't important enough to give any screen time let alone any real strategy talk or personal confessionals. Her one confessionals states how she feels Holli doesn't trust her and labels her as a strong competitor, which could play into a role possibly down the line, but I highly doubt it. As it stands now, the moment I see Victoria's edit spark up to a CP rating I'm going to automatically assume it is her boot episode.

Rebecca | 1 Confessional | UTR2
__________________________
Rebecca had a decent premiere edit that seemed like the editors (Austin...) wanted us to like her as most likely an underdog in the storyline, however the one thing that pegs me about Rebecca's edit is she's not getting enough airtime to either explain her strategy. In episode 2 her only confessional was tethered to Alex G (her partner) about establishing trust. The thing that felt a little off to me is how she also stated that she hasn't talked to any of the guys or girls about strategy, which would explain why she's not getting any real airtime, but also is a big negative for her considering connections seem to play a huge role this season and she's not going to have any, which will put her in a vulnerable position. If Rebecca's edit doesn't pick up soon, I'm almost certain she'll be forever stuck in a position that is constantly trying to fight her way to power but never actually being able to get there...

Michelle | 1 Confessional | UTR2
___________________________
Michelle's edit this episode almost pains me, but it's only two episodes in, so it could pick back up at any time. Her premiere edit was almost an exact opposite of what we see here, what we see of Michelle in this episode is Michelle being deliberately hidden and almost given an INV rating until Ryan started freaking out and we get one of her claiming that she needs to save Ryan for her game. What I see in the future for Michelle is one of being in a minority alliance as it seems the theme of the season will set up Chris L. and his minions vs Chris T and the rebellion. If we were to determine which side has the better edit as of now, you could easily make the case for Chris L's side, which isn't good for Michelle. Michelle needs to hop back into action next week so that we can see that she'll play a key role in the storyline this season.

Ashley | 1 Confessional | UTRN2
__________________________
Ok, let me start by saying Ashley isn't winning, if she did I'd be more shocked than anyone could possibly imagine, with two back to back Negative undertones right out of the gate is not a good sign for Ashley, especially considering next to none of the women care for her. Her only saving grace moving forward is that in her premiere episode she stated she didn't like the girls vs guys twist (Implying she works well with men), then goes on to form a bond with Chris L., the guy known for having a bro alliance. It's all too clear to me Ashley, if she doesn't go premerge, will wind up on team Chris L. and be just another vote for the bros going forward.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Micah | 1 Confessional | MOR2
_________________________
Poor old Micah, always getting the shittiest edit when it comes to the Socotrio and yet probably being the most self-aware one of the three. Micah's edit this episode came early on after tribal to tell the audience that he wants to work with Eric and Evan (Not a shocker). He also states that he thinks the five currently in power is nothing more than a voting block, which adds to his self-awareness. He also has a convo with Chris L. where he tells us Chris L. is both genuine but full of shit at the same time. He wants to split up Eric and Chris L. moving forward which is not a surprise. My problem with Micah's edit is there isn't enough personal content, it's all usually tethered to somebody else's game. Micah's edit will have to pick up soon if he's to get any chance at winning this season.

Holli | 1 Confessional | MOR2
________________________
Holli's confessional centered around building a core alliance with a sub alliance built on top of it, while she wants to work with Sabrina and Shannon moving forward, she wants to pull in Victoria and Sierra as well, but not wanting to take Victoria far for being a liar. Holli has shown to be paranoid but also aware of her surroundings, which is quite an interesting take when it comes to the edit. Holli is coming fresh off a CP edit in the premiere meaning I feel Holli could very well be a prominent character in the story moving forward and possibly a winner's contender. Keeping an eye on her edit is a must if we are to know which direction Austin is to take her edit.

Ryan | 2 Confessionals | MOR2
_________________________
Poor Ryan, you just knew this guy was out when they crammed a heartfelt soundtrack followed by Ryan regretting not making a move when he should have, it also doesn't help he had no edit up until the final five minutes of the episode. Ryan's boot episode consisted of a last-ditch effort in trying to flip the game on its head, of which he almost made happen, but a last second decision by Schuble sealed his fate. Overall Ryan's edit was one which symbolizes that big threats are going to keep going out early and that more than likely we're going to be left with the "all stars".

Shannon | 2 Confessionals | MOR3
____________________________
I like Shannon, but good god her edit is always tied to damn Chris L. This time she's seen talking to Holli about how she wants to make an alliance with Holli. But not off her own willingness, no she's doing it because it's what Chris L wants. On top of all that her only other confessional was about how funny Chris L's shirt rip was. I fear that if Shannon wants any chance at breaking away and forming her own storyline and story arc, then she is going to need to distance herself from Chris L because as of now it always seems like her story goes back to him.

Alex G. | 2 Confessionals | MOR3
___________________________
Anything was step up from last week's terrible 0 confessional episode from Alex G. This week we say yet another person label Victoria as a huge threat, with also finally establishing a connection with his partner Rebecca. Alex says the cliché line that we'd expect about wanting to keep Rebecca around as long as possible. I have two problems however with Alex's edit, one being that he considered Ryan to be his closest ally and then goes on to getting rid of him without a confessional backing up why he did it. Two being that Alex just wants to ride the wave, which is all fine and dandy, but with the theme of the season being connections, Alex is going to find himself on the wrong side of the numbers fast.

Brandon | 2 Confessionals | MOR3
____________________________
I had a very hard time determining whether or not Brandon's edit was worthy of CP, but at the end of the day I felt like there wasn't enough personal content to give him such a rating. Brandon has already made it perfectly clear to the audience that he works much better with women then he does with men, topple that with his reveal of his best friend, winner contender Sabrina and you'll grasp just where Brandon's edit is most likely headed. Brandon is yet another person that wants to work with Eric and realizes he needs Chris L out of the picture in order to do so. Brandon's edit to me is headed down the secondary supporting character route, so I fully expect that he won't be the winner this season, but he will be involved in how it happens, expecting a lot more MOR edits for Brandon.

Evan | 3 Confessionals | MOR4
_________________________
The thing that strikes me as MOR about Evans edit this episode is it's all about things he apparently had to do, like vote out Alex P. and how he's relying on others words to keep him safe instead of taking his fate into his own hands. Evan still remains one of the biggest characters so far but not yet breaking away from Chris L's storyline himself, I feel like so many people could have interesting stories if they just made one for themselves instead of playing follow the leader. He's seen at the start of the episode talking to Micah about wanting Chris T out for being annoying and then later of course, bitching more about Chris L on how he's aware that Chris L is handing out little bits of his "trust" to everyone and how he plans on giving a little back to Chris L when the times right. Overall Evans edit feels too much like Michael from this season of Ghost Island, I predict early jury but certainly not a winner.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Eric | 2 Confessionals | OTT2
_______________________
The thing that struck me as completely over the top with Eric's edit is how over simplified the editors make it known how just comfortable Eric is and how he has it all figured out and he's just on top of the world, thinking Brandon is just some dumb schmuck who will vote whichever way he tells him to, to being over confident that Ryan is out for sure and that there was no way he'd stay, even though the edit clearly suggested otherwise makes me think Eric is set up to take the hit when it comes time to splitting up the Eric/Chris L. duo.

Chris L. | 4 Confessionals | OTTN4
___________________________
Oh Chris L., if you weren't so over simplified in edit to believe that anyone actually buys into your bullshit, you could actually have a good shot to win, but from what I've seen edit wise, no way back to back negative edits will help your case moving forward. Chris L is seen not only rubbing his enemies the wrong way, but his own allies the wrong way. The only people for sure that will keep by Chris L's side in times of need will be Eric and Shannon, both of who's storylines are basically tethered to his. He was able to build trust with Ashley but it doesn't help his case of having virtually 0 social skills on top of no self-awareness to how people think. The whole episode had people trashing him left and right. I assume Chris L. is being setup for a blindside, but not one on himself, but his ally Eric, when that happens it'll be interesting to see where Chris L's story goes, but as of now, outside of being the biggest character this season, I don't see him winning.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sabrina | 2 Confessionals | CP3
__________________________
Right here is one of my winner's contenders. Outside of not being targeted by anybody on her tribe, Sabrina has made it known she is here to play and to win, she trusts the people that trust her and is skeptical of the people who are weary of her, making her awareness skills all that intuitive. This episode she is able to list off the pairs of people on her tribe and how she plans on splitting them up. She also is able to give the negative tone to Ashley by claiming if she didn't come to play she'll be more than happy to vote her out. I think the editors are trying to give her moderate amounts of screen time to cover that she'll be a prominent player moving forward in the game and possibly the winner of the season.

Schuble | 3 Confessionals | CP4
__________________________
Got to love Schuble. He's without a doubt so far, the most consistent in terms of edit. The only person who seemingly had an inkling that he was a threat went out first. Anything Schuble has said he's going to do or has done has been made known to the audience as he's shown in a position of power. He's caught between two sides without either side knowing. Schuble has managed to feed both the Chris's ego's and how he plans to take the ultimate position of power when the times right, meaning cutting the Chris's loose. Schuble will definitely play a big role in how this season is played out and possibly wind up winning it all.

Chris T. | 3 Confessionals | CPM4
___________________________
What can I really say about Chris T's edit really. It intrigues me that while he gets shown in a negative light by his teammates... it almost feels like the edit is trying to make us like Chris T with his goofy ways and his underdog story on trying to get people to play the game and stop playing following the leader. Chris T is very self-aware of the people who don't like him and likes that people underestimate him as it'll benefit him in the long run. Chris T. was the one seen this episode desperately trying to get people to make a move by planting seeds, which ultimately failed by Schuble deciding not to go along with it. Overall I don't know where Chris T's edit is taking him, it could be the next boot, merge or even all the way to finals, the next few episodes will determine to me exactly what the editors have in story with Chris T's story.
