WTF can you really post whatever to design labs/shops now without permission? or did that get changed since Admin's blog?
I don't think it's fair if my design gets used without my permission.
Like sure I understand people complaining about ownership of doll site designs. But I actually "draw" my stuff and i'd be really annoyed that my handwork ended up free to everyone to profit off of, if others decided to share the png files.
I think design rules should be LESS about WHAT you design. Let people be fucking creative in what they make. But I don't think someone else should be able to take advantage or take credit for someone else's work.
I know I'm no Trishy but I'd like to think my designs hold some sort of value in the quality that I put out for the most part. I really don't wanna stop giving permission to letting people post my designs in like auctions/gifting and sometimes competing. But if these new rules stay in place I really don't feel the want to share my designs out or design more stuff.
And for proof, the Edit on Admin's Design Rules blog;
"EDIT: No permission is required to upload a design to design lab/shop. If you don't want others using your designs, don't share files."
I do think its a bit unfair, but admin can't do anything about it because it was rando who told them to change the rule. Anyone with common courtesy will still ask for permission unless its from an inact user
ghrocky100 videos and game/animations are still "pixels. So something drawn online in anyway is fair for others to take? Artists & graphic designers can allow for their work to be taken because it's in a digital form and not drawn out first on paper? I'm fighting the updated rule on this site, yeah it's minuscule in the grand scheme of life. I understand my life will move on, the world won't stop turning and in the end It really doesn't matter.
It's just the principle of something creative I've created could be used/taken without my consent. Maybe it's pathetic. But if something you put time & effort into creating and working hard on is pathetic. I guess I am. I just think it's ridiculous to say because drew out clothing on a computer instead of doing it on paper or something. I shouldn't be allowed to claim it as my own.
ghrocky100 Alex I’m sorry but that just isn’t it... I’m a film major and I’ve been doing photography and filmography for YEARS and I can tell you that drawing is much harder... with my time in art classes throughout grade school I can even say that digital drawing is more complicated than brush and paint. Internet designers that draw from scratch should hold permission for their work, point blank.
