This round will be your final 2-for-1, and we're talking LOVE songs! We've covered break-up and sad songs, it was only a matter of time before we got here.
For today's challenge, I want you to submit two love songs. However, I want ONE to be a romantic love song, while I'd like the other to be another sort of love - love of family, a platonic love, something along those lines. Feel free to get creative and to share what kind of love it is that you're sharing.
This song is about loving youth, the good moments of life, and family - wishing you had more time for/with all. I can't listen to this song without crying so I hope you find it moving as well.
Time to risk it for the biscuit. My romantic love song is "Faithfully" by Journey. My second song is "Dear Mama" by 2Pac. 2Pac is one of my favorite artists of all time. I don't typically use his songs for these music games since rap can be pretty hit or miss with people on here. But this song about him expressing his love and appreciation for his mother is just such a good match for the theme, and if it eliminates me, I'll hold my head up high haha
For the traditional romantic love song, I'm going with "Genesis" by Dua Lipa. Forgive me for reusing her, but we're at final 4 and I haven't used her since round 1. I actually heard her sing this live before she even released this song on her debut album. There is such raw passion and emotion in her voice, and I've always loved that about her. For the other love song, I've decided to go with "Soulmate" by Lizzo. I love how much Lizzo writes and sings about self-love. Even though we all have our flaws, it's so important to embrace the faults that you have and to love yourself. Hope you like these!
