This list is written all based on my own opinion. All of these songs were released in 2017 or late 2016. There is a mix of songs popular on the radio or streaming, and songs that are more forgotten gems from albums or just never picked up the popularity they should have. These are just in my opinion, the 50 best songs that I'll remember from this year.
#40 - Lust for Life - Lana Del Rey (feat. The Weeknd)
In Lana's 2nd appearance on this list, we see the title track of her 2017 album, "Lust for Life", in a collaboration with The Weeknd, another favorite artist of mine who has worked with Lana in some previous works (notably, "Prisoner" and "Stargirl Interlude" on his records). These two really came together and created this song that exudes such chemistry from the two and really draws me in and I just love listening to this any time it's on. The video is beautiful to me and both artists appear to be having such fun with each other. I love how Lana's voice sounds in the parts where she is just speaking, but then she smoothly moves into the singing part, and then later in the song, her and The Weeknd sing the opposite parts in the second chorus that they did in the first, and I thought that was a cute touch. The instrumentation and production on this song are probably some of the best we've seen from Lana ever. While not necessarily one of the best songs from the album, this track was one of Lana's few to hit on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at #64.
Hint for #39 - Technically released in a little earlier in 2016 than the others here, it was a lead single for a 2017 mix-tape and didn't peak until February 2017, so I'm qualifying it for this list.
