Top Songs of 2017 - #48

Dec 29, 2017 by GrrrImABear
This list is written all based on my own opinion. All of these songs were released in 2017 or late 2016. There is a mix of songs popular on the radio or streaming, and songs that are more forgotten gems from albums or just never picked up the popularity they should have. These are just in my opinion, the 50 best songs that I'll remember from this year.

#48 - Walk On Water by Eminem (feat. Beyonce)

This song was unexpected when it first dropped a few weeks ago, and was an interesting collaboration. Full disclosure, not the biggest Eminem fan, though I have a few favourites from his songs (Stan, When I'm Gone, Guts Over Fear, Headlights), and while this song has much more of a spoken flow than a lot of his previous songs that have more inflection through his raps, the words he's written here to me are effective and really help push his points and this song feeling like a send-off and I appreciate it for that. And while I thought Beyonce was an odd choice to sing this Skylar Grey hook, the two actually work together very well. I think this was a great lead-off single from his otherwise lackluster 2017 album, even if it isn't finding the same mainstream success.

Hint for #47 - Another unexpected collaboration that didn't land as much mainstream success as it likely should have, but overall was still a great song.
