I've received two emails from teachers where I work, they were sent to the allstaff@etc address, about how people are gearing up to poison a bunch of kids this Halloween with Fentanyl. They are going to disguise lethal doses of it as candy and mass distribute it. Same old bullshit. I heard for the first time about how razor's in candy, and other similar sensational stories, are urban legends in the documentary Cropsy (which is definitely worth the watch and free on YouTube). I hoped to put the clip in here but couldn't find it. Instead something from PBS about all the bullshit is below. Anyway, just annoying that in a professional atmosphere in education, it is acceptable to spread lies like these. It's this willingness to run with crazy barely true stories that so often paint us "Americans" in a bad light.
Perform fact checks! Think for yourself, no one else is going to. Be leary of anything the masses are buying into.
