Round 1 is complete, and it was certainly an interesting round! A lot of you went for some well known and sort of basic songs (not a bad thing!) and some of them hit while others missed the mark.
I will say that there were no submissions we thought were terrible, but there were also not many great submissions either. We will take some of the blame for that, as it was clear that many of you didn’t quite understand what we wanted you to go for in regards to our theme. We wanted something that would get people hyped up and ready to see what was about to happen (think a wrestlers entrance or a pre-game sports song). Because of this, we decided to weigh the songs based on how much we liked it more than the theme itself, but we did take the theme into consideration still, so if you submitted a song that really hit the theme you still got a boost.
We will be sure to be more clear with upcoming themes, and if you have questions about the themes feel free to mail or skype us!
Now, onto the results! You will be revealed in 3 groups. First the middle 6, then the top 4, then the bottom 4. During that we will also crown the winner of the week and the bottom 2, who will have to SING FOR THEIR LIFE in our elimination round.

Natepresnell - Walk (Kwabs)
M: LOL @ this being from the soundtrack of FIFA 15, you thought you could slip that by me? You didn’t know what the theme meant but you still kinda killed it. I can definitely see this being used as an entrance, or even more so as the music to a promo package before a fight or sports game. As for the song itself, it’s really good and definitely my type of music. His voice fits this song so well and the vibes are awesome. Very nice pick! 9/10
K: I randomly really liked this song. This is going to sound weird but I can imagine it being used for like TV/movie fandom edits LOL. I’ve never heard of that artist but he’s really talented I liked the vibe of it. It’s definitely hype in a sense but wasn’t my fave for the theme however it was a good song!! 7/10

J2999 - Club Can’t Handle Me (Flo Rida ft. David Guetta)
M: LOL this song is funny. CAN the club even handle you James? I don’t think so. No but honestly even though I simply cannot take Flo seriously, this song is good for what it is. It gives off electric vibes and although I think it’s better as a party type dance song, it also makes for a good entrance. Nice pick! 8/10
K: This song is definitely hype but it weirdly gives me more like coming of age/end of a movie vibes?? Also wasn’t this the song The Office used for Pam and Jim’s wedding LMFAO? Kind of an iconic pick but I’m not sure if it was the most on theme imo. 7/10

Christian_ - 1, 2 Step (Ciara ft. Missy Elliott)
M: *1, 2 steps w/ Christian* This was a good choice. It’s a good song, has a nice beat and vibes that hit right. Although there are parts of the song that I think would be sorta weird as an entrance, most of the song (and definitely the beginning of the song) is on point. 7/10
K: *1, 2 steps w/ Christian* This song made me laugh out loud. It’s such a funny choice to me but it just kind of works? It’s hype, fun and the beginning and Miss Elliott’s parts were definitely on theme. I think the bridge and the rest was kind of weird for an entrance song but overall this was a really funny choice. 8/10

iiGalaxyii - Blow (Ke$ha)
M: LOL the choices this round are so funny. Like Club Can’t Handle Me, I think this is better as a party/dance song but still can fit the theme and be a good entrance song. I also think the song is decent but I like other Ke$ha songs better, although this is probably the most fitting for the theme. It’s almost a little too basic poppy for me I guess. But still not the worst song and a decent pick. 6.5/10
K: I actually think the chorus to this song is so funny for an entrance song if someone used this I’d have no choice but to stan. This song was kind of overplayed but 2010’s Ke$ha is like crack not to mention the iconic random Victorious performance...She definitely has better songs out there but it wasn’t a bad choice. 7/10

Absol - All of You (Junglepussy)
M: I enjoyed this song! I’ve never heard it before but it has really nice vibes. The beat was fun and the chorus was catchy. I don’t know if this is really a song that makes a big splash though, and that is sort of what we were looking for in the theme. What hypes you up is obviously subjective, but it didn’t really do that for me. Again, I did like the song and you’re getting points for that, but it didn’t give me the hyped up kind of feeling I would want when making an entrance. 6.5/10
K: This was my first time listening to this song but I actually really liked it. It’s definitely an original/creative choice!! Kind of like Matt said, overall the song was actually really good and I’d put this on one of my playlists but it doesn’t really fit the theme imo. I get more laid back/good vibes from this song but definitely not a bad choice. 6.5/10

Mbarnish1 - ...Baby One More Time (Britney Spears)
M: Okay so I do like this song, and although I think Britney has better, this is obviously a classic. BUT, for me it could have fit the theme better. Like yes, it is a great song to dance to, but it’s not really something that would hype people up if you were about to perform something, ya know? The chorus SORTA gets there more, but overall it doesn’t totally match what I was looking for. The song is good though, and it’s certainly not a terrible choice. 7/10
K: Oh no I LOVE me some miss Britney (my own submission would be Toxic LMAO) but this song wasn’t the most on brand for me. It’s pretty tame for an entrance song I don’t think the crowd would decide to stan unfortunately. This song is a bop but she definitely has better choices for the theme imo :(. 6/10

JoeFromUnderArmour - Crazy Train (Ozzy Osbourne)
M: An absolute CLASSIC. This takes me back to playing hockey and this was sometimes the type of music we’d listen to pregame. So this 100% fits the theme perfectly for me. It might be nostalgia, but I really like this song. Good job! 8.5/10
K: This was a great choice I’m such a whore for classic rock. The beginning fits the theme so well, the rest of the song after like the first minute I wasn’t crazy about but nonetheless Ozzy’s always a sick pick. 8/10

Minie - Bang Bang (Jessie J, Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj)
M: Great choice! I really like this song, it has 3 artists I really enjoy and they all bring something different to the table. It’s a very fun song and Nicki pops off in her verse. It also definitely fits what I was looking for in the theme, this is a song that I could get amped up to and would make for a great entrance. 8/10
K: I LOVEEE this song. It’s hype and radiates nothing but bad bitch energy. Nicki, Ariana and Jessie J are all queens too obviously. The vocals are incredible and it’s kind of hilarious that the chorus is probably my least favorite part. Definitely a great choice for the theme though. 9.5/10

Admir - Believer (Imagine Dragons)
M: I’m not the biggest fan of Imagine Dragons. I just think they’ve been overplayed to death and their music can get old. I don’t hate them, but they’re meh for me. I will say that when this song first came out I enjoyed it, so I am taking that into account. I think for me it just got played out, but it’s definitely not a BAD song. Even though the song was just decent for me, you are gonna get mad points for matching the theme. This song makes for a great entrance song and definitely would get people hyped up. Good choice! 7.5/10
K: This was definitely one of my favorite submissions, if not my favorite. If I heard this song at a sporting event I’d be so hype. Honestly I forgot Imagine Dragons existed, they're basically the same thing as OneRepublic. But this song is incredibly on brand with the theme and like even if Imagine Dragons are kind of *cringe-y* this song is a banger. 10/10

Mradamman12 - Let’s Get It Started (The Black Eyed Peas)
M: Uh-huh. This is a really good pick! I really like this era of the Peas, and they have a bunch of songs that could’ve worked for this. This one might be the best for this theme though, it just makes sense. That intro? Unique and catches your attention. The pre-chorus? Get you wound up for what’s coming. The chorus? Pops off. Fantastic song to make an entrance to. 9.5/10
K: It’s the 2000’s fashion for me. I was never really a fan of The Black Eyed Peas (I thought like Fergie was their lead singer) but this song is iconic and definitely fits the theme perfectly. This song had me bouncin along the whole time and the video is so funny. This was definitely a great pick. 9/10

M: Hmm, I’m a bit mixed on this song. I will say that it’s good for the theme. Even just the very beginning of this song is distinct enough to turn heads and get people paying attention to you and ready for you. That being said, this song kind of annoys me, I don’t really know why. I think it might just be the voice and the beat? It’s not a bad song, but it’s also not my favourite. 6.5/10
K: I think it’s an okay pick for the theme and I like how upbeat it is but this song was so overplayed whatever year it came out that it kind of triggers me. Definitely a bop when you’re five tequila shots deep but not my cup of tea :-(. 6/10

M: This was a fun song! I’ve never heard it (or any of his music) but I do know of him. I don’t think it’s anything special, but it’s definitely nice and has good vibes. Similar to All of You, I don’t really see this as a great entrance tbh, but it’s a nice song! 6/10
K: This song was super upbeat and fun I’m a big slut for some Conan Gray. I loved the video’s aesthetics and was that the actress from The End of the F*cking World LMAO?? I get summer-y good vibes from this song (even if the lyrics differ..!!) but it was definitely a choice for the theme heart. 6/10

iSandeh - A Thousand Years (Christina Perri)
M: I REALLY like this song. It’s so pretty and the lyrics are cute as fuck. If this was just based on the song you would easily be in the top 4. That being said, this simply is not a good entrance song. Like this song makes me want to sit down and have a cry, not get ready to do something. I’ll just say your points are coming solely based on me liking the song a lot. 6.5/10
K: I just don’t understand why you’d have me crying on a Wednesday morning. This is an amazing song but also makes me think of nothing but the last Twilight movie. It’s one of those songs that actually makes you feel something but it doesn’t really resonate with the theme unless your goal was to make people sob bc well done. 5/10
