I must announce that this episode's winner is going to choose one of the 3 remaining queens and a secret theme (A or B) to face off in the final lip-sync battle before the grand-finale. spinfur ━━ MAXINE ‘’Cool Like You’’ ━━ Hey spinfur! You came with a different approach and an artist that I had never heard of until now. I have to say that I really liked your song choice and I’m also grateful about acquiring a new musical background. I do see the gayness in her as a potentially gay diva/artist and you can also recognise the synths in this song… However, comparing your song choice to the other contestants, the beats sound much more commercial, more EDM-ish than synth-ish, if you know what I mean. I don’t think that you deserve the BTTM2, but as the competition is at its end, maybe default and minor mistakes would get you in that position.
mathboy9 ━━ Shura ’’What's It Gonna Be?’’ ━━ Hello math! I love Shura’s songs but I had no idea that she filmed such a gay/lesbian MV. You really rocked my heart with your choice, this song gave me goosebumps and made me smile like I was just a teen version of Gerusa but in love and having my first homo-affairs. The beats definitely represent the new generation of electro-pop artists and Shura is an amazing reference of that as well. Nice.
boyfriend ━━ Kylie Minogue ‘’Can't Get You Out of My Head (Live at 2002 Brit Awards)’’ ━━ Hello Maya Minogue! I must confess that when I first saw your song choice I had a preconception that you’re going for a totally different path than what I’ve asked for. However, after listening to this live version of CGYOOMH, you surprised me by bringing not only a gay icon to the round but also a classic synthpop twist to it. And I adored it. New Order is one of my favourite bands and they represent synthpop in a nutshell, also, I don’t know if they could get more gayer than what I’ve just listened to, lol. You brought an elevated version of two famous classics and it definitely paid off.
Brandonator ━━ Carly Rae Jepsen ‘’Cut To The Feeling (Stormby Mix Edit)’’ ━━ Heya Brandon! I love Carly and EMOTION is almost like a bible for me… but, in this round your song choice was really weak compared to your fellow competitors. I get that remixed/twisted versions can make the song even better for an assignment, just like boyfriend’s choice; However, I feel like the Stormby Mix Edit for this song is much more focused on the 128 bpm’s than to its synth’s. Although Carly is super duper gay, the task lacks its synth part as the main characteristic, in the way that this round’s theme was almost a tribute to synthesizers.
Lukesaur ━━ Annie ‘’Heartbeat’’ ━━ Luke, stop hitting me where it hurts! First of all, I need to say that I’m a huge Annie stan and she should have much more recognition than she has… I feel like only the ‘other gays’ hype her and I bet their support doesn’t even pay her lunch… jk. In an analytical judge, this song is super gay and it definitely fits the synth-pop/electropop category, also, ‘Heartbeat’ is considered one of the best pop songs ever by the criticism (...and by me). Such a smart and great choice!
