As I write this I am on skype with Chrissy and I have yelled and threatened my kids lives at least three times. I am not sure if they drank some funky kool-aid or what but I will pay someone to take them off of my hands.
I'm getting ahead of myself.
Earlier in the day we had a friend over. At my house there is a strict rule about not being in the front yard. We live on a main street and I am scared that one day they will be hit by a car. We have a big backyard with lots of things to do and woods to explore. They were playing nicely so I set about to get my chores done for the day. I noticed as I walked by the windows that they weren't in the yard so I went looking. I found them in the driveway riding their bikes down to the very edge of the street while their friend sprayed them with the hose! No only that but they had gotten into the bag of soda cans (meant for recycling) and were crushing them. Of course they never made it back into the bag so they were EVERYWHERE!
I (very calmly I might add) put all of them in time out and then sentenced them all to hard labor of cleaning their rooms. There was crying, blaming, threats of running away etc. Needless to say the mess in the yard didn't get cleaned up right away.
A couple of hours later there is a knock at the door. I immediately remember the huge mess in the yard. Quite embarrassed, I opened the door to ... a Police Officer!
"Can you step outside Maam
"Of course."
"I received a complaint about your children playing in the road"
"Yes I realized this they were sentenced to hard labor"
"You know there is a lot of traffic on this road Maam." Pulls out pad and a pen "What did you say your name is?"
At this point I am hoping to be struck by lightening
"Are the kids here?"
"Yes, let me get them."
He lectured all of them and basically scared the shit out of my kids! My daughter looking up at him in awe said:
"How did you know we were being bad?"
"Well one of the people driving by called me"
There's no way out of this. We have to move out of the neighborhood now. Maybe to a different state.
Oh man that stinks as a parent of two (young ones) they can be a handful they are both under three. My advice is maybe having them spend a weekend with grandma and lwt it be just you for two days? I do that and it works wonders :) good luck :).
