Let's not kid ourselves into believing that the system suddenly works and that the bad cops can be brought to justice. Chauvin was nothing more than a sacrificial lamb meant to absolve the institutions of any wrongdoing both in the present and historically. If it took this much anger and fury for the most basic form of justice to be administered, we've got a long way to go before we can reach the promised land of equality and freedom for all

No, you're right. But at the same time, corrupt police are watching. Young influenceable police are watching. We get several more of these cases resolved satisfactorily, and there could begin to be fundamental systemic change.
