Contestants! Thank you for submitting your songs in a timely manner :) I have listened to each submission carefully and I think yalls taste being different than mine sort of showed this round! Not to say the songs weren’t good, they were, it’s just for the most part not stuff I would’ve thought of with this category. It is now time for the judge’s critiques!
First of all, FireX did NOT win this round which means he is officially eliminated from the competition! I’m sorry X, your song was either clearly a joke, took the category too literally, or was meant to trigger my gay panic, but nonetheless thanks for playing!

Insanity - “Doses” - RIKA - I think this song was a fine choice, it was just kind of forgettable and didn’t read as very chill to me. Nothing about it was overly bad but I wouldn’t have chosen a song like this :/
SennaRichards - “Crystallize” - Lindsey Stirling - I absolutely love how out of the box this pick was and I thoroughly enjoyed this! I think focusing on a song with strong instrumentation was key in this category because chill music while high is very based on atmosphere and I think this song nailed that to a tee :) Awesome job this round! :)
Becksta20 - “Pure Shore” - All Saints - I just didn’t really like the vocalist’s voice and I thought the song was a bit too out of the ballpark of what I was asking for, unfortunately :/
Ahea7561 - “Best Part” - H.E.R. Feat. Daniel Caesar - I mean, H.E.R. is my go to for chill music, her tone is so effortless and this was the most chill song you could’ve picked for her and I think you nailed it :) I love this song a lot, it will one day be a timeless classic, the duet and the harmonies are gorgeous, everything about this fills my soul and I love it :)
1001games - “Rock & Roll” - Eric Hutchinson - I think you missed the mark on this song choice, it’s not a bad song it just doesn’t fit the category for me, it’s a little too upbeat and jovial for chill music :/
Irelia - “If You Ever” - Nao - I was drawn in the moment the instrumentation started, the harmonies and everything about it was so atmospheric, I loved this a lot. I will say Nao doesn’t have my favorite voice, but nonetheless I absolutely loved this and this is getting added to my playlist :)

Becksta20 with “Pure Shore”. I’m sorry Beck, you still have my support in stars lmao, but this song just overall wasn’t something I vibed with and, in this round especially, the vibe was important. But remember, this does NOT mean your journey is over, you have a chance to get back into the competition with a win in the next round!
