One of the main problems with this site has nothing to do with admin or randomize. A major problem with the site start with us, the users of the site. We scare away the newcomers, push away the veteran players, and whenever we get something good we complain. Maybe if the community was better, new people would come. Some suggestions for everyone are:
- Be welcoming to new players. They could very well be what saves tengaged and many of us either push them away or call them multi's without even getting to know them.
- Stop complaining when something good happens. Instead of appreciating the fact that stars payouts have changed, we complain about the other ones and criticize the new ones. Other than appreciating the fact that multi's are getting banned (around 500 in the past few months) we complain that they still exist (although they will never truly go away)
- Instead of complaining about games not filling, join them and fill them. Many people who complain about slow game filling haven't played one in months or even years.
- Instead of complaining about a lack of charities, help out with them. There are people that complain about them not filling when they haven't joined one in their lives.
- If you are gonna complain about "bullying" don't do it yourself. I can name very few people who have complained about it that doesn't bully the person that they are complaining about at the same exact time.
OH YEAH FORGOT. THE RACISM HAS TO STOP ON THIS SITE. YES THERE ARE USERS THAT ONLY TALK TO THOSE WHO SPEAK SPANISH OR PORTUGESE BUT THAT IS NOT ALL OF THEM

Actually the truth is no matter if were all perfect positive peachy princesses, the site would still be on its last leg. The user on this site have always been like how you describe above even back in the old days people were condescending assholes. There is very little incentive to play any games because payouts suck, people were allowed to be rude and harass and bully users because we had no moderators due to randomize choosing. It is true that people on the site are responsible for their actions, however Randomize inactivity and general stupidity to some aspects on this site are the reasons its failing. People being nice to me wont prompt me to a join a game with atrocious payouts. Furthermore just because an update occurs doesnt mean I cant be critical. You are telling me that I have to be happy randomize fixed 1 stars payout is ridiculous, when the prize for first place was not even the main issue with the payouts. Furthermore, we have been clamoring for updated payouts for years and he pops on and updates 1 payout for a game that half the site cant even join

ok yeah some of these changes are idiotic (such specific ruling on designs) but for the most parts, they are all pretty good.

I see where koolness234 is getting at, but even if randomize became active again and we get the changes we've been asking for, that's not going the fact that part of the reason this website is failing is because of us. Let's not forget, in 2016 when Admin didn't exist and there was no randomize to even enforce bans, cheat engine reigned supreme as did multis, and until Admin's arrival, the number of games that enrolled became bloated due to multis, so really, there is barely anyone who is actually joining games nowadays that can join at the color levels posted. Also, let's not forget that all the old accounts that left this website got hacked and subsequently banned unfairly. I should know since I've lost people I cared about because of this, and I know for a FACT I'm not the only one who went through this, let alone remember it. Basically, yes, we were condescending assholes back when Tengaged_Moderation kept this website alive, but I would EASILY take that over what it's become after Tengaged_Moderation was banned in #ModGate.
Besides randomize giving a shit again, this website is NEVER going to get back to its former glory until we make a change ourselves and become more welcoming towards newer players. Only a new generation of people coming into the website will save this website even with randomize back on the plate because until that happens, The Great Tengaged Depression will never end.
icarus_mark people are responsible for their actions but in real life situations when there is no one enforcing the rules people are going to break them. Do you think people would obey all the laws in America if we had no judicial system and police force. History shows us time and time again that people will break rules when there is no enforcement of them. Yeah people creating multis are responsible for creating multis.
But randomize has done very little to fix the site if anything. Im not saying the public isnt contributing to this factor, but this whole idea of everyone being nicer will fix the rut this site is in is diluted juvenile approach. Nothing will change unless the owner takes significant time to update the site. Video games go doormant not when their player community is rude but when there are little to no updated. It is impossible for new color levels to play games because payouts are so fucking bad, the system literally only rewards them for finals, and me being nicer and not questioning who is a multi or not isnt going to fix he deep rooted underlying issues within the site
here to give my irrelevant opinion. this is really long and i don't expect anyone to read it, but i figured i'd weigh in! my personal opinion is that the changes to the site need to start with randomize and the site itself (as well as the administration) if we want anything positive to come of them. i also understand this idea that the users can and should do a lot better, but i wanna make it clear why i think that the problem is not necessarily the fault of the users themselves.

this is... true? i don't think we should push away new players and often times people will be overly quick to call out multis, but (i feel) the issue with getting new players to come back isn't the horrible community. tengaged has always been pretty toxic, mostly because the entire site is about competition. i don't think a few fights is what turns someone away, i think it's the fact that there's still huge problems with multis being used in games, as well as just general lack of players to fill and play games in a short time period. it's very challenging for new users to level up nowadays. i see plenty of lower levels on this site who have joined literal HUNDREDS of fastings and are still struggling to get to orange, or even yellow. all these problems just makes it unfun and unrewarding for new players... and that combined with the subpar community is what drives people away. (at least in my opinion. i don't rlly have the research to back it up, but it's what i've seen).

COMPLETELY disagree. i'm not going to argue about any specific rule change or anything here, because i don't think that's the point you're making (although i will say the stars payouts changing was a hideously bad call). i do think admin deserves recognition for what they have done with the site, because i'll be honest- i wouldn't be willing to put in as much work and as much care as they do with the job. it's a very difficult position to be in, and learning to deal with the hundreds of voices in the crowd while you try and decide where your time and energy is best spent isn't easy. that being said, it doesn't mean that people aren't allowed to say what they want about the admin. listening to players is an integral part of the admin's job. being able to see what people are saying about you & your work as admin is not only helpful, it's necessary.
i feel like people have already forgotten how completely incompetent admin was at first- remember all the messiness about having inconsistent rules & waiting to start banning multis because they didn't have ip checking tools to do it with? imagine if they still acted like that. there's a reason why the admin needs criticism: to learn from it and become a better admin, and the userss will always be able to dish out their opinions. sure, there's a bunch of assholes saying admin is doing a shitty job (myself included), but it's not like being able to tell genuine criticism from someone being a bit of a cunt is really all that difficult.

yeah, if you want games to fill, you need to join games... i can't argue with that. the issue with this statement is that "people aren't joining games" isn't the problem here- it's the consequence of the actual problem. the reasons that people aren't joining games are what needs to be fixed. foremost, interest levels are dwindling because games are getting incredibly stale. many users have been on here for over half a decade now... and the last time the games got updated was when the new comps were added. no updates since, and the major drought of updates has been around since 2013... so it's been probably around 5 years since any serious overhauls to the games. we haven't gotten any new ones, and the changes to the site have been really minimal. that's the major problem with WHY games aren't filling (as well as the stigma of multis still existing, a smaller playerbase, the same users joining every games, etc...). it's that they've gotten stale and something needs to be changed about them for people to be interested again. saying "well if you want games to fill, join games! duh lol" is easy, but you have to acknowledge the reasons why games aren't filling to get anywhere with that.

completely true. bringing back charities to their former glory is the only damn thing i need from this site anymore. i still think the game-filling point i mentioned earlier kind of applies, but charities are actually intrinsically valuable to keep alive- more charities = more bets for everyone = tengaged economy inflation. capitalism is beautiful

I agree. It has always been the people on this site that made it interesting. I also agree that we should be welcoming new players. That includes the players from the Spanish and Brazilian sites.
This site is all about backstabbing and betrayal thats just what happens in every single game... So no not everyone is going to get along. There is always going to be hate pushed upon someone.
Exactly, In castings I can be active and do the challenges and they will keep the vet players that are inactive over not so known names..it makes it unfun to play when they arent allowing the players that are playing play. They just keep the high ranked players to become their friends with. who in the end wins, because those high no active player survive 6 eliminations due to getting ones. Yet they never play.
