I usually support fugitives because it’s iconic to be on the run from police who I hate so much (especially the RCMP), but ... Shmegeslky and McLeod killed that Australian-American couple probably only so that they can run from society and enjoy the adventure. I don’t know if they actually had a feud with the professor who died and if he deserved it, but I know that the couple didn’t deserve it. McLeod seems normal and sweet and I feel like Shmegeslky is the mastermind who’s dragging McLeod through it, but he also wants the adventure and isn’t saying no to what’s going on.
I’m having a hard time supporting them because that poor couple was trying to live their best life when they were murdered at the side of the road when their van broke down.
I can’t support them, but I don’t want them to go to jail, so I don’t want them to get caught, but I don’t want them to kill anyone else. I hope they change their names, get new IDs, sneak onto a boat across the ocean and live nice lives where they feel bad for what they did, but they can start new.
