TWD Blog Story Season 2 Apps Apr 14, 2015
imageSeason One was a blast even if I was a bit naughty at getting it out on time. :3

Apps are open until I post that they are closed, which might be a good while.

Fill out as much or as little you want, I can fill in anything you don't myself.  Two characters at most per person please. Also the unclaimed characters already cast are still up for being claimed if you don't want to make your own.

Also, your character may not be used, and it could be for different reasons. I might have a full cast, the character may just not fit into the story or something along those lines, or I might not feel like I can write the character properly. Just don't feel bad if I don't use yours, it's not you it's me. Dx
There's also the chance your character won't have the exact personality you we're hoping for, I do make changes to an extent so be aware of that.

My hope is to post Season 2 within the coming months, summer maybe. I'd like to write the entire season before I start posting the episodes and so I'm not sure how long it'll take. Even if it ends up being December, don't assume it's not coming unless I actually put a blog up saying it's cancelled.

Those with two characters already can make a third if they'd like. (Clementine, Ivy, Mariah.)

I already have a few planned characters, and by planned I simply mean age, sex, occupation. If someone wants to make those characters go for it, otherwise I make them and they become unclaimed characters. Just PM me for those specifics if your interested.

A family of four, one person can make all four or it can be split to two, three, or four people. I'd rather it be split honestly but if no one's interested then one person gets all four.
A female soldier, and finally a doctor.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Annie could hear something but it was faint, the noises sounded like she was underwater or a million miles away, she was groggy, the noises slowly seemed to get closer as her head cleared, she attempted to sit up but something was preventing it, tried to wipe her eyes but she couldn't, panic once again setting in she opened her mouth to scream but she couldn't. Something was covering it, breathing heavily through her nose she twitched her lips around trying to figure out what it was. Tape, she only realized this when she turned to look beside her, seeing Falisha strapped to a hospital bed next to her with tape covering her mouth, the grunting noises had been her trying to wake Annie. She was in the same situation, and that was why she couldn't move. The room was dark as she searched her surroundings before once again making eye contact with Falisha.

--

Ben and Chris grappled with each other against the hard tile floor for almost a minute before breaking apart. "Those guys yours then?" Ben asked wiping his forearm against his bloody lip, speaking of the people in the parking lot. Chris shook his head, "No, not a clue who they are. They made the perfect distraction though, I mean I did end up getting you alone. Didn't have to use Falisha afterall." he smirked. Ben growled, "Why do this? You and me, we're both still alive. It doesn't have to go down like this, my friends are down there fighting to protect this place, I should be beside them but instead I'm here dealing with you. We should BOTH be fighting beside them." Ben gestured a hand behind him towards the front of the hospital. "You don't get it do you? I don't WANT to. I came back for the sole purpose to make you pay...to kill you, why is that so hard to understand?" Chris exhaled impatiently. "Because even though you hate me I still care about you, I never meant for any of them to die, I was trying to send you all back to Fort Bragg so you'd be safe...as long as you haven't hurt Falisha or Annie this can still work." Ben's face was torn, he was angry at Chris, angry at himself now knowing what had happened to those he'd sworn to protect, just that they we're dead. He was worried about Falisha and Annie, worried about the others fighting below them. And it was all hitting him at once.

Chris smirked in amusement, "It can't even if I wanted it to. Like I said Ben, I came here for you and you alone. I didn't want to hurt a little girl, she was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, knocked her out with chloroform." It was the information Ben was looking for, she was alive. He'd spotted his gun between them and dove for it, when he grabbed it and started to aim at Chris the other man was upon him with a large knife headed straight for him. Chris knew he couldn't kill Ben before the man could pull the trigger and backed off, raising his hands. "Where!?" Ben yelled in frustration, much to Chris' annoyance. Ben stood and stepped closer to Chris, "Where are they!?"

--

Patrick held his flashlight up as he ran through the halls, where was Ben? What had he heard exactly? When he spotted the body on the ground he felt the hair raise on the back of his neck. He slowly crept forward nudging it with his foot before turning it over. He covered his mouth and looked away at the realization that it was Anthony, the man had clearly turned before he'd been shot in the head because his flesh had already started to decay. "Fuck." Patrick muttered moving on, in the next hallway he noticed an opened door. He stopped in his tracks shining his light at it from down the hall, the noises returned almost like muffled grunts this time more aggressive. Entering the room he shined his light at two beds where he saw Annie and Falisha strapped to them.

--

Austin hit the ground hard unable to catch himself, he heard the distinct noise of a bullet hitting flesh, one he knew all to well, he half expecting to be riddled with bullets he was suddenly aware of someone helping him up. He didn't look to see who it was at first, using his own force with the other person the two launched themselves forwards landing behind the desk next to Alicia and Izzie. Austin huffed pulling the gun straps over his head, realizing the person who'd helped him was Luke. "Thanks, I'd probably be dead if you weren't so quick on your feet." The younger man just shook his head, "And we'd all be dead if you didn't bring the big guns. Let's call it even." Austin handed the three of them their weapons before tossing the assault rifles to Shiloh and Liam as well. A groan came from the other side of the room as those behind the desk realized Wayne had been hit, "Cover me." Izzie said rushing out from behind the desk before they could even react. All laying down cover fire, giving her time to reach Wayne without problems.

Izzie slid to the ground as Wayne sat up gripping his side, "I'm fine." he said through gritted teeth. "Just let me look dammit." Izzie said keeping a hold on his shoulder preventing the man from moving. Blood seeping onto his shirt by his ribs had her worried, she let go of his shoulder once he gave in, allowing her to look. Raising the shirt she inspected it. "Your in luck." Izzie said with an angry sarcastic tone. "No exit wound which means you get a quick free surgery." Wayne attempted to stand once again, this time Izzie got in his face. "You may not be bleeding too much right now but if we don't get that bullet out and patch you up you'll bleed out before these guys can put a bullet in your brain." Wayne rolled his eyes wanting to stay and fight. "We don't have the people here to have two of us be distracted." Izzie shook her head, "We'll just have to make do."

It was then that Kate showed back up in the hallway keeping low. Izzie glanced at her, and at the others, the gunfire was getting more aggressive, not letting them return much anymore having everyone pinned. She glanced at Wayne, the two finding some sort of understanding in the moment. "We can't hold it, we have to fall back deeper into the hospital..." She mumbled and Wayne nodded. "It's our only chance right now, let them in and they'll be on our turf, an even playing field, no more rain and darkness to conceal them. Take away that advantage."

"Retreat into the hospital!" Izzie called out as she helped Wayne to his feet. "We hold our ground deeper inside!" The others stared at her and Wayne baffled at the plan. "Are you crazy!? We can't let them inside, it'll be the end of us!" Liam spouted from below a window. Alicia shook her head, "No he's right, we'll get picked off if we just stay here or run out of ammo shooting randomly." And with that they took turns laying down cover fire to let each other retreat one by one. With the locations across the lobby it was a forced split. Izzie, Liam, and Wayne had taken hall closest to them with Kate in it. Luke, Alicia, Austin, and Shiloh had taken the one on the opposite side.

--

Chris closed his eyes allowing the cold tip of Ben's gun to be pressed against his forehead. "You should have TRUSTED ME." Chris yelled in Ben's face as he lurched forwards into the gun and closer to Ben with his body, Ben however replied by stepping backwards keeping him at arms length. It caught Ben off guard as Chris was defenseless and shouldn't resist unless...unless he wanted this to end. "If you had told us about the orders and that you we're going to defy them I would have defected with you. Did you really think we would blindly follow the orders to kill them? No, we would have blindly followed you, it's what we did and it's what got them all killed!!" Chris shouted. Ben stared angrily at the man he'd known for many years, a man he considered family. He watched Chris' eyes dart to look behind him, and for a brief moment saw a strange orange glow being cast from behind him. Instincts kicked in as he saw Chris backing up and Ben threw himself as hard as he could to the side, just as he did he could hear the glass window shattering, and he felt heat. Ben turned to look where he once stood to see a fire that was now engulfing the hallway, someone had thrown a Molotov cocktail.

Strong arms encircled Ben's neck from behind and tightened into a choke hold attempting to cut off Ben's breathing, Chris had caught him off guard. Ben grabbed at the arms desperately as he tried to move his body to shake Chris off of him.

--

Patrick couldn't even ask the girls what had happened because immediately after getting them untied the loud crashing noise echoed throughout the second floor, and smoke started flooding the halls. Annie was still shaken, Patrick knelt down in front of her, "I can't imagine what you've been through. You can talk about it after we're safe but for now I need you to focus alright?" Annie nodded half-heatedly. Patrick exhaled, "Look, just focus on Ellis. We're all in trouble right now including him, and I need you to be brave for him alright?" Annie seemed to understand as her stance changed to a more stable form. Patrick stood back up, Falisha was eyeing him curiously "It's bad." He muttered before handing her his pistol. And it was, the hostiles we're firing on their people downstairs, and now it seemed there was a fire. "We should go." Falisha said, the three moving out into the halls.

--

Ellis sat in the emergency room lobby, glancing at Bailey who was sat beside him. He was uncomfortable with the situation but oddly calm. Bailey had her eyes and ears open listening to every shot that echoed through the halls. Cynthia stood against a nearby wall with the pistol still in her hand, trying hard to focus but not feeling very confident.  She glanced at the two younger kids, the fact that she'd been trusted to protect them was terrifying in a way but Kate had trusted her and she wasn't about to forget that. As she watched them for a moment she glanced past them at the ambulance bay doors which had been chained shut, something sat on the ground in front of the door. Curiously she moved to take a look, her eyes went wide with the realization that the chance that once kept them safe now laid on the ground. As if on cue the double doors slowly crept open, Cynthia froze. With the doors now opened the groans could be heard, "No..." she muttered backing up.

Bailey stood up behind her, watching her curiously. Then all at once walkers started moving through the doors like a crashing wave, too many to count for how close they we're as Cynthia turned to Bailey and Ellis. "Go!" She screamed. Bailey grabbed Ellis pulling him to stand and the two rushed down the nearby hallway with Cynthia on their heels.

--

"Kate, here!" Izzie called out tossing Kate her gun, they moved into a random room located in one of the halls, she and Liam helped Wayne onto a hospital bed. Kate closed the door behind them. "I've gotta get this bullet out, now." Izzie said staring at Wayne who nodded through gritted teeth, this was going to hurt. "Get something for him to bite down on." She told Liam who took off his belt before moving beside her holding the small flashlight so she could see what she was doing. "How are we supposed to fight back from in here?" He said.. Izzie shook her head, "This takes priority, besides they'll come to us." Izzie now blocked them out working the forceps into Wayne's wound.

--

Ben balled his fists and flung them as hard as he could at Chris' face behind him, he felt himself weakening at the lack of oxygen, his fists hit true but Chris wasn't faltering. "Chris..." He gasped. "Not these time Sergeant No tapping out of this I'm afraid." Chris said through his teeth as his body stayed tense and he squeezed tighter.

And with a sudden jerk it was over. Ben inhaled sharply coughing from his sore throat, and the smoke he'd just inhaled, his hand went to his neck angrily searching for Chris with his eyes as they refocused, confused at what had happened and where the other man went. He could hear grunts and scuffling then he spotted Chris and another man vying for control of the other down the hall, flipping on-top of each other with fists flying in a frenzy. It was Patrick he realized as he brought himself to stand, he knew the younger man would most likely lose this fight. Chris was larger and that was a fact, but he also had the military training to back that up.

--

"We have to rendezvous with the others!" Alicia said running alongside Austin, Shiloh, and Luke. They agreed on this, turning a corner into the next hallway they all came to a screeching halt almost falling over as they we're faced by a wave of walkers heading their way. "The fuck's going on!?" Shiloh yelled, instincts had them firing into the crowd as they retreated backwards slowly, bodies dropped left and right but the wall of decay kept closing. "It's no use, run for it!" Shiloh shouted as he turned around, at the T intersection hallway he ran left along with Austin and Luke. Looking over his shoulder Luke spotted Alicia heading the other way. "What are you doing!?" He yelled coming to a stop. Alicia waved for them to keep going, "I've got a plan, I'll lead these guys to those fucks shooting at us, you three find the others!" Luke and Austin moved to try and stop her, being instantly cut off by the walkers flooding the intersection.

Shots we're heard from the other side of the walkers as Alicia started shooting and screaming to get the full attention of dead, and it worked for the most part only a few followed after the guys. "She shouldn't have gone alone." Austin growled. "She's a hardass she'll be fine." Shiloh replied, the three continuing deeper into the hospital.

--

"Just keep running! We'll find the others!" Cynthia yelled at Bailey and Ellis who we're running ahead of her, walkers still trailing behind them. "But we'll be running into gunfire, it can't be much more safe than this!" Bailey yelled back over her shoulder. Cynthia caught up to them taking Ellis' hand in hers. Bailey grabbed Cynthia's hand tugging her into a nearby room, Ellis was pulled as well. Cynthia quickly shut the door behind them, "The hell are we going to do in here?" She said as the walkers started beating on the door causing her to back-away from it. Bailey shook her head, "We wait it out. The others will come back for us..." She muttered, others by default was Klaire to her. Ellis moved to the window of the room that was boarded up trying to tug at the boards. "We're trapped." He pouted. Cynthia shook her head distraught, being trapped in a small room with a hoard of those things outside trying to get in, her fears we're being realized. "And if everyone is dead then we'll die in this room." She mumbled as she sank to the ground.

--

Alicia was walking backwards at a quick pace with the walkers following her, glancing over her shoulder to make sure she didn't run into any surprises, the plan was working and the dead we're following her straight towards the lobby. It was a great plan she told herself, but the realization hit that it was going to be difficult to escape once she'd actually arrived at the lobby, being trapped between walkers and trigger happy assholes that wanted everyone dead, what a night.

When she stepped into the opening of the lobby with the walkers hot on her trail she could see that a small group of people had entered the lobby. She raised her weapon without stopping and fired shots before they even spotted her, taking down the two closest. The return fire from the others was quick and she barely had enough time to duck into another hallway. Some of the walkers had been drawn by the fire but some had still stayed focused on her, forcing her out once again. Alicia quickly sprinted for the next hallway in the hopes that everything trying to kill her would be distracted for just a moment. That wishful thinking ended abruptly when a spray of bullets buzzed by her, she cried out at the sudden burning sensation in her leg then she threw herself forwards into the hallway.

Alicia stared down at her bloody wounded leg, frustrated she gritted her teeth trying to stand. She was safe for the next few seconds until something came around the corner, walkers or people either way she was dead if she didn't move. She heaved herself to stand on one leg, grabbing her gun she opened the closest door to her, moving inside and slamming the door behind her. It was dark and she'd stumbled over something causing her to fall against one of the hospital beds. She cursed herself silently for not being more careful, for not standing her ground, what the hell was she doing here? Why had she so easily volunteered to lead those walkers towards their enemies.

--

The flames of the fire had spread in all directions of the building, it had a mind of it's own as it cut Ben off from Chris and Patrick. Ben grabbed the gun from the ground, shielding his face from the heat of the fire he aimed it through the flames towards the two, Chris currently having the advantage as he was on-top of Patrick. Ben took a breath as he aimed then fired a shot, the shot glanced off the wall inches from Chris and Patrick catching Chris' attention he looked up at the flames, seeing Ben setting up for a second shot, that moment was all Patrick needed as he threw Chris off of him. Chris and Ben locked eyes in a glare once more before Chris sprinted around the corner going deeper into the hospital.

Ben lowered his weapon and was forced to take a step back as the flames flickered towards him. "Patrick you've gotta go, the fire's spreading too fast!!" Ben yelled over the roar of the fire.

Patrick could hear Ben yelling as he stood slowly, his eye already feeling swollen even if it didn't show it, he watched the fire spreading and understood. He turned running the opposite direction of where Chris had gone.

Ben slowly made his way back to the stairwell, with a light limp on his right leg. "Falisha!?" He cried out spotting the woman standing near the stairwell looking distraught. A brief smile crossed her lips as she kissed him on the cheek, Patrick came jogging up. "I owe you my life." Ben said turning to Patrick, who opened his mouth reply but Falisha cut him off. "Annie took off down the stairs after the gunshot, we have to go after her." Falisha said not waiting and opening the door. "Wait!" Ben called out following after her.

--

Alicia sat between the hospital beds on the floor, her leg still bleeding. She'd wrapped it as best as possible but the blood was seeping through, it had formed a small puddle on the tile floor. Her face was concentrated on the door, gun pointed and ready. "Come and get me." She mumbled, then a smell caught her attention. Smoke? Alicia couldn't stifle the chuckle she let out as she wiped the sweat from her brow, the hospital was on fire now? Seriously? "I will not die here!" She yelled at the door, "Do you here me!?"

The door jerked open suddenly but Alicia was ready, even with the bright beams of a flashlight shining in through the dark. She took only one second of hesitation, the thought that maybe these we're her people coming to her aid. Bailey, Klaire, Ben, Wayne...any of them. After that single second it was clear this wasn't the case and her finger held the trigger down letting loose a volley of bullets. It was slow motion for her, the flashlight slowly dropping, the sound of yelling and cries.

A moment later it was over, quiet. A man from outside the room stepped over two bodies to enter the room followed by a woman. "Stupid bitch." The man muttered staring down at the lifeless Alicia, a bullet-wound in her head. The woman spat, then they glanced around the room before leaving.

--

Ryan, Shannon, and Klaire ducked behind a vehicle across the street from the hospital, the gunfire had lessened but some still echoed, the storm had all but stopped at this point. "Lookout!" Shannon hissed quietly, the three ducking down as a walker strolled by. "These things are everywhere, this gunfire is attracting them from everywhere!" Klaire growled gripping her rifle tightly. Ryan stayed quiet as he stared at the entrance of the hospital over the hood of the truck. The night kept most things hidden but Ryan was able to spot a few figures near the disfigured barricade of cars. "The whole damn place is on fire!" Klaire said staring at the flames leaping up the front of the hospital.

--

Kate stifled a cough as she stood by the door her eyes watering, the smoke had reached them a while ago. Izzie had a rag wrapped around her mouth so she could focus on Wayne, "Done!" she called out. Wayne un-tensed, allowing the belt to slip out of his mouth. "Thank fuck!" He sat up a bit too quickly getting dizzy, Izzie quickly grabbing him by the shoulder. "Not so fast big guy, you lost blood. Take things slow."

Liam rolled his eyes from his position across the room, "We don't have that luxury right now. We've got to get out of this damn deathtrap." Kate glared at him, "And what just leave the others? Leave our home?" Kate cried out. Liam shook his head, "If they we're smart they'd have already gotten themselves out." Izzie helped Wayne to the door where Liam placed himself under one of the big mans arms. "Liam's right. We leave now, they can take care of themselves. This isn't about protecting the hospital anymore, it's about surviving." The four of them we're quiet for a moment as they accepted it before Kate opened the door and they moved out into the hall. For that moment they'd forgotten to look before leaping and a group of walkers we're right around the corner already making their way over for a meal.

Liam and Izzie scurried along helping Wayne while Kate stayed nearby trying to keep an eye in front of them and behind them. "Shit!" Liam called out as they rounded a corner, more walkers blocking their path. "This way!" Kate called out leading them the only other way. "Swap with me Kate!" Izzie said. The girl hesitating before moving under Waynes arm in Izzie's place. "They are going to catch us, go as fast as you can while I distract them." Kate attempted to turn so she could see Izzie, "No, we'll make it together!" Izzie shook her head with a smile, "No we won't. Don't worry I'll find a way out and meet up with you." Wayne grunted, "If anyone should be a distraction it should be the dead weight." Izzie sighed, "And what let you die? I don't think so, atleast I stand a chance. Besides what kind of doctor would I be if I let my patient die?" Izzie's eyes moved to Liam half expecting him to say something like the other two, he simply nodded. He accepted what she was doing and why she was doing it and for that she thanked him internally. "Now go!" She yelled before turning around to face the approaching groups of walkers that had now combined. Raising her weapon she took aim.

--

The lobby of the hospital was eerie and dark as a man moved inside, bodies strewn throughout the floor. Most walkers with the occasional man or woman, a few walkers crouched eating flesh of the newly killed. He looked away in disgust before moving down the closest hallway. He kept his mouth covered and ducked low as the smoke was floating about. He moved quietly by a small group of walkers, a door suddenly jerked open and his head snapped in the direction pointing his flashlight to see a girl come running into the hallway, ignoring the light in her eyes she ran straight. Reaching out quickly grabbed the girl giving her a gentle shake, "Annie!?" The girls face went from being blank to confused as she looked around in dismay, spotting the bodies. "Falisha? Patrick?" Clearly she'd been through something, he gave her another gentle shake. "Annie, I'm right here. It's Ryan, your safe." She stared at him briefly before nodding her head. "Yeah, I'm fine." The small group of walkers had heard them and now roamed their direction, Ryan spotting them. "We can't stay here, let's go." The two moved down the nearby hallway, Ryan glanced over his shoulder halfway through it wondering if Klaire and Shannon would follow, he knew they we're pissed by now, but he couldn't wait for them, especially not now with the walkers and the quickly spreading fire.

--

Falsiha, Patrick, and Ben ran into the corpse ridden smokey lobby just in time to see Shannon and Klaire enter from outside. A brief moment of joy written on all of their faces seeing each other alive before nearby gunfire caught their attention followed by yelling and a scream. "Go!" Ben said knowing he'd lag behind a little. The others wasted no time rushing towards the direction of the noise, Falisha lagging behind slightly with Ben.

"Fuck you!" Came a female voice ahead. Klaire had the lead on the others, and at the familiarity of the voice her nostril's flared and she charged faster, seeing a heap of dead walkers ahead with a door open in front of them it was clear that was her destination.

--

Gunfire erupted from outside the door causing Cynthia screamed abruptly trying to scramble backwards to a corner, Bailey stood frozen, Ellis ducking behind an overturned hospital bed. "Bailey!" Cynthia called out trying to get the girl to move as she herself raised the pistol pointing it at the door, her hands shaking. When the door burst open Bailey fell backwards, it was quiet for a second except for Ellis' whimpers from behind the bed. A man and woman stepped into the room, weapons pointed at Bailey and Cynthia. "Looky what we have here." The woman said smiling. "Fuck you!" Bailey yelled at them, her face telling them she wasn't afraid. Her body however told another story as she was trembling. "Don't worry dear, this'll only hurt a little." She said kneeling down, her body hit the ground before she neared Bailey. Bailey stared at the woman's blood covered face, eyes wide open. Looking up she saw Klaire in the doorway staring at her, both looking shocked. Suddenly the man charged tackling Klaire back out into the hallway against the wall, weapons pushed aside.

She called out in pain as she was slammed hard against the wall, the two struggling briefly, she brought the butt of her pistol up and slammed against his head. He staggered only for a second and before she could take advantage of it he hit her with the rifle sending her reeling against the wall. She looked up, blood dripping from the cut on her forehead into her left eye, expecting the gun to be shoved in her face before he pulled the trigger, instead she watched the man fall. Two gunshots came from down the hall, glancing that direction she spotted Shannon. The man groaned in pain as Klaire quickly kicked the rifle away from his reach. Wiping at the blood in her eye with her sleeve she suddenly felt arms encircle her, "Your alive!" Klaire smiled at Bailey. "Sorry I worried you kid." Bailey shook her head, "I never doubted it." the girl replied. Falisha and Patrick moved into the room to check on Ellis and Cynthia, Ben moved to stand over the injured man aiming his pistol at the mans head. "You don't have to." Klaire said moving Bailey aside to walk next to Ben. Ben glanced at her, the two eyed each other momentarily, both with injured faces, though Ben's much worse with Klaire's only being a cut and bruise. "I do." He said before turning back and pulling the trigger, the shot causing Klaire to flinch.

--

Liam and Kate spotted two figures ahead of them through the smoke as they moved on still helping Wayne along. "Kate!?" The voice called out and Kate felt her knees go wobbly and almost give way, she almost let Wayne go and rush off but she didn't. Ryan and Annie rushed to meet them, Kate and Ryan awkwardly embracing while Kate still held her spot against Wayne. Almost brought to tears she glanced behind them, they'd moved around a few hallways since leaving Izzie, the gunfire had ceased. "Izzie was holding them off you have t--" Kate's voice was cut off by a blood curdling scream from that direction. Kate slipped out of Wayne's weight feeling faint, causing Ryan to move forwards and take over for her. "We have to go." He whispered to her as she balanced herself. He glanced at Liam, "We won't make it to the lobby, and walkers are wandering in, we need a quick exit." Wayne grunted from between them, "Window, break the boards off and go right through right?"

--

The group consisting of Patrick, Falisha, Ellis, Ben, Cynthia, Shannon, and Klaire moved towards the ambulance bay. Cynthia had informed them that the chains had been cut, it was how the walkers had gotten in, and that if the walkers had cleared out they could use it as an exit. Few walkers stood in their way as Patrick and Shannon stayed ahead of the others to keep the path clear and take the dead out. Once outside they all breathed in the fresh air, it was still night and dark but the flames from the hospital lit up the surrounding area. "Holy shit." Came a voice from their left as Austin lowered his weapon, surprise written all over his face. His eyes met with Patrick's as they stepped closer, it was slightly awkward until Austin grabbed either side of Patrick's face pulling him in for a kiss. "Atta boy." Ben said from behind Patrick, as the kiss ended he gave the Sergeant a bright red glare which Ben only replied with a grin, the older man had been pushing Patrick to open up to Austin for a while now and this was the fruition of his work. Austin traced the outline of a bruise that started appearing around Patrick's eye with his thumb, "What happened?" Patrick shook his head reaching up and grabbing Austin's hand gently, "Long story."

"The others?" Klaire asked. Austin shook his head, "Luke and Shiloh are making sure the area up the hill is safe. I was waiting here in case I could catch anyone making it out." He glanced over his shoulder at a body lying in the snow. "She's the only one so far." The others peered around him at the dark haired woman. "Dead?" Shannon asked cautiously. Austin shook his head, "She never saw me coming she's out cold." Ben moved forwards with his slight limp, weapon ready. This time Klaire put her hand on his arm, "You don't have to." The two locked eyes again, this time Klaire showed more conviction, a quick glance at Falisha told him to listen to her and he lowered his arm. "We have to go." Patrick called out staring upwards at the fire that was consuming the hospital. "I'm not leaving without Tony." Austin replied looking into the smoke filled doors. "Or Annie!" Ellis chimed in. "She got separated from us." Falisha said from beside Ben. "Izzie?" Shannon asked, glancing around at the group. No one spoke up, Ben laying a hand on her shoulder, "I'm sur--" Shannon moved from his reach brushing the hand off and he took the hint and shut his mouth.

"We can't stay here, they probably all got out already. They are all together, you have to believe that because right now we have to take care of ourselves." Klaire said. Austin looked down at Ellis and Ellis looked up at Austin, "What do you think?" He asked the boy who glanced at the doors once more. "I think we should trust in them." Austin smiled, it was all he needed to hear it would seem.

Pieces of debris and fire embers started raining down forcing the group to move quickly across the street and up the hill following Shiloh and Luke's tracks in the snow. All taking a look at the building they called home, wondering if those they cared for we're alright, if they we're even alive.

--

"Faster!" Wayne groaned from the door, he was leaning against it weakly with Kate and Annie. Liam and Ryan pulling at the boards covering the window with everything they had. Moans and bangs came from the other side of the door as a group of walkers wanted inside desperately. They'd been searching for a suitably easy window to try and escape through when this group of walkers had forced them into the closest available room. "Alright!" Ryan called out, the final board came off and Ryan used it to mash the window, clearing the glass from all sides to prevent anyone getting sliced open. Liam wasted no time jumping out, "What are you doing!? I'm going to need your help getting Wayne through." Laim rolled his eyes, "Are you crazy? The moment he moves from the door those things will flood the room, I'm not dying with him. Ryan growled before turning to the others, "Annie, go." The girl rushed up climbing over and through. Ryan moved to help hold the door, "Kate, go! We'll be right behind you."

Kate shook her head, "Like hell you will. You need my help to get Wayne out you can't do it alone." Frustrated Ryan glared at her, "Don't argue with me, just do it!" Kate glared right back. "I said no! I'm not losing anyone else today, we make it together or we die together I'm not leaving you two, deal with it." Ryan's frustrated face faded as he stared at Kate and nodded sympathetically, "You win." Wayne grunted from between them. "Now that you two stopped yapping can we do this? On three..." "One..." Ryan started, "Two..." Kate followed, "Three!" Wayne yelled as he launched himself towards the window, Kate and Ryan following and helping him stay balanced. The door flew open behind them, walkers flinging themselves forwards grabbing at the moving targets.

Ryan yelped as he tripped, feeling a bony hand cling to his ankle. Walkers converged on him as he fired shots until his clip was empty. Suddenly another shot sounded through the room, looking behind him he spotted Kate having aimed at the walker with a grip on his ankle. Those he'd killed bought him a few brief seconds, enough to scramble away ahead of the dead. Kate was through the window before he threw himself out. Even with the snow on the ground it still knocked the wind out of him. He watched as the window filled up with Walkers trying to escape to the outside, clogging each other in the small opening. It wasn't until a burning hot ember landed on his arm causing him to flinch did he realize the danger wasn't over. Kate hauled him to his feet before the two ran after Wayne, Liam, and Annie who'd already started moving away from the burning building, moving into the nearby brush of what could be considered a small forest near the back hospital, it was dark inside the trees, light from the fire casting an orange glow on the snow, the trees dark shadows stretching and dancing with the flickering flames on the white powdery surface below.

--

The larger group had moved to the top of the hill on a slight overhang, taking a breath. The burning inferno of what had once been their home in plain view out and below them, they stood watching it. The flames burned bright that even this far away it lit up the area. They'd found Luke and Shiloh along the path, Luke trying to check on Ben's injuries but the older man protested claiming he was fine.

They stood amongst a few trees in the snow, some of them were huddled together for warmth, some for comfort but most stood apart, spread out in the small clearing. They stared at the flames and smoke from the hospital. Some cried, some were simply sad, and some were angry. They'd just lost any sense of safety, they'd just lost their home, and they'd lost friends and family. Austin on his knees near the edge of the hill, unable to keep his emotions hidden any longer. Patrick stood behind him, his hands on Austin's shoulders, his eyes watching the flames like everyone else.

Shiloh stood beside Klaire who had one arm wrapped around Bailey's neck having pulled the girl close against her. He didn't argue or flinch when he felt her hand wrap his tightly. He didn't move or pull away when she leaned her head against his shoulder finally letting some emotion spill out with tears falling from her eyes, never taking her eyes off the great flames.

Shannon stood near the back of the group, her arms crossed. She fought to stay strong to not give in to her emotions, her body stayed tense as the tears rolled down. Her arms crossed over her chest, she refused to wipe them away. She grieved for Izzie, though her sister may not be dead, but she wasn't HERE and that was more than enough to break her in this moment. Her eyes glanced to Klaire and Shiloh, she could only see their outlines against the orange glow. She envied their relationship, they'd become close friends and that was something she could never have with Shiloh because they'd chosen a different path, a path that lead nowhere. Her gaze didn't linger long before flicking back to the burning hospital.

Falisha attempted to get Ben to sit and rest but the man refused, standing tall and watching with the others, she simply kept her arms wrapped around him as she too watched. Cynthia stood off to the side, hugging herself with her arms. Luke and Ellis sat against a tree resting against it.

The night was quiet, only the sounds of the burning building echoing outwards, the occasional crash of something caving in or falling off the building. Walkers wandering towards it from all directions, drawn to the light and the noise, like a moth to a flame.

The group much smaller than it was just hours before watched in horror and grief as their safety, dreams, and home went up in flames. The ones they loved still an unknown, they could all be dead, or worse, still trapped inside.

--

Ryan's group moved off from the hospital, deeper into the woods. Wayne told them of the brown SUV he knew was hidden here. The same one he and Liam had planned to leave in, he obviously left that part out. Liam giving him uncertain glanced occasionally. Ryan and Kate asking how he knew, telling them simply that it was a backup plan, they didn't pester him further. When they arrived Wayne pulled himself into the passenger seat and Liam into the driver seat. "Keys." Liam said, his hand in front of Wayne waiting for them. Wayne gritted his teeth as he leaned back, digging his hand into his pocket, pulling them out and handing them over. "You kept them on you the whole damn time?" Liam whispered as Annie, Ryan, and Kate filed into the backseat. Wayne didn't reply just relaxing back into the seat, Liam mumbling something vulgar under his breath as he tried the switch, it took three tries but the vehicle did start.

--

Ben glanced over at Shannon to his right, "Give me a second." He whispered to Falisha, moving away from her. The snow crunch under his boots and the added limp made the crunching more prominent. The noise surprised Shannon as she saw the red headed man stop beside her. "Shannon we need to talk, I...I saw Izzie on our way out..." Shannon watched as Ben's eyes looked everywhere but couldn't meet hers. "She was gone." The words hit Shannon like a train, her heart skipped a beat and it was as if the breath was knocked out of her, her knees went weak but she recovered herself.

"Ben!?" She called out staring at him, the fact that he couldn't look her in the eyes angered her. She stepped forwards getting as close as possible but the man didn't respond. Shannon felt the emotions surging forwards, her face tense as she tried desperately to keep herself together. Her lip quivered feverishly, her eyes growing moist and unable to contain the liquid as it started dripping down her cheeks once again. "No! Ben!" She yelled, raising her hands and pushing against his chest with as much force as she could muster. Ben didn't react, the impact knocking him backwards he only kept himself from falling, still unable to meet her gaze. "She can't be!" Shannon moved forwards shoving him once again.

"I'm sorry." He mumbled, and finally her knees gave out lowering slowly into the snow below. A sudden shout snapped the group out of their mourning, "Don't fucking move!" Came a female voice. The woman they'd left unconscious had followed them, and now she had Cynthia in a hold with a gun to her head. How she'd been able to do this so quietly was beyond them. "Anyone points a gun at me and the bitch dies." At first Cynthia had struggled until the woman pressed the gun against her head even harder at which point she stopped struggling as much afraid that if she kept on that it would only end in her death.

"Where's the rest of my group!?" She shouted. "Try checking the hospital, it's where you all came in to kill us afterall right? You might find a few still crispy if you hurry." Austin said staring angrily still on his knees. The woman laughed, shifting and dragging Cynthia along. "Smartass aren't we? Well then." The woman's arm shot forwards pointing the gun at Austin. Austin attempted to slowly stand, his eyes going wide as he watched as a form moved to shield him, the realization that it was Patrick, he reached to pull the man back, panicked cries came from the group and then...then the gun went off.

--

"Tracks." Wayne said, easing himself out of the car, allowing himself to kneel down in the snow. He grabbed at the wound on his side with a wince, and shook his head. "There's no way to tell, the snow mixes things up." The prints we're plenty, but there was so much crisscrossing, they weren't clear some dragging through the snow rather than walking, injured likely, all heading up the hill. Kate stepped forwards staring ahead where the tracks lead her eyes following the clearly imprinted footprints. "So it could be them?"

Liam sat hanging out the driver door, "Yeah, or a group of walkers." Wayne grunted as he attempted to stand, Kate stepping back allowing him to use her for balance. "No, the tracks lead up the hill. The dead are drawn towards the fire, they wouldn't wander away. Unless they we're chasing something." There was a short pause, "It could also be the assholes that shot the place up." Ryan tossed in as he rounded from the other side of the car with his weapon in hand. "Only one way to find out." Kate said glancing back at them. Ryan moved to whisper in her ear, "Only Wayne's in no condition to go trudging through the woods in the snow. And Annie..well..." He turned to look at the car, Annie sat in the backseat quietly. "She was like this after Jemma right?" He cocked his head to the side. Kate shook her head, not certain, "Kind of."

"If it is them we have to know." Wayne said pushing himself to stand. Staring forwards at the long trail of tracks they we're about to follow into the unknown they each held their own fears and their own hopes.

--

The woman's body crumpled to the ground in a heap, her eyes wide open bullet wound between the eyes. Cynthia fell forwards trying to get away from it all. Luke moving forwards to help her and try and keep her calm. Everyone else had turned to the dark shadowy wooded area that the firelight wasn't reaching, that was where the shot came from and it was where the figure of a man emerged, the light from the flames now shining on his face, asian-like features, early thirties with his weapon still raised. "You..." came Ben's shocked voice.

Thanks for reading everyone, and being apart of this journey. I honestly had alot of fun writing this season, or rather thinking up the story. Typing it out was the less fun part. xD

You guys reading and commenting kept me going. If I got no comments and had nobody reading I'd never have the inspiration to continue, it helps drive me and makes it more enjoyable. Sorry for the wait though. :p

Season 2 episodes will start to be released once I've finished it. And I have no idea how long that could take. It's 90% happening, there's a chance I could decide not to or not finish it but I already have plenty of ideas in my head and I do want to keep this story going. Just don't expect it too soon.

I'll likely be posting Season 2 apps the same week this goes up, so if your interested go for it. Everyone can make atleast one character, the max character limit is two now. But if you have two alive right now you can have another if you'd like, potentially giving you a third.

-The following events are in the moments before Ben gets shot-
-Bare with me this episode, there are alot of small rewind moments-

Liam spotted Wayne sitting on the front desk in the lobby. Luke and Alicia discussing something nearby, he propped himself up to sit beside him. Wayne paying him no mind as he ate his rations. Liam looked around before leaning in towards Wayne, "I found the damn gun on the second floor." Wayne stopped eating and put his bowl down beside him before turning to Liam. "I thought you we're a lawyer, how in the hell can you be so dumb." Liam just rolled his eyes. "So your telling me you didn't steal it and now you've magically found it? You know how stupidly fishy that sounds?" Liam nodded. "I do in fact. But your the only one who knew I wanted it back then. I camped out inside the room where I found it all night and practically all day waiting for the thief to come back and no one showed up." Wayne just growled in frustration. "This doesn't help your case at all." Liam growled back pounding his fist down into the desk. "Why in the hell would I tell you if it wasn't me? I'm telling you so you'll help me find out who it was. I don't trust that any of the others with this information."

[][]Two Weeks after finding the hospital[][]

"I'm off." Wayne said tossing his bag on shoulder heading for the front door to the hopsital. Falisha, Liam, and Ben we're getting ready for a run, Ben's head snapping to look at Wayne. "Alone?" he called out. Wayne shrugged, "Just checking the traps. Been doing it alone." Ben sighed, "We made the rule of no one going off alone for a reason. It's for everyone's safety." Ben looked over at Liam, "Go with him, I'll get Luke to take your place on the run." Liam shot him a dirty look. "Why me?" Ben shoved Liam his bag, "Because I asked nicely." Liam rolled his eyes, "Asked nicely my ass.." he mumbled as he followed after Wayne.

--

They we're in a tiny clearing in the nearby forest as Wayne knelt down checking the trap while Liam kept an eye out. "You can go back you know. I don't need your help." Liam chuckled. "Oh I'd love to but I don't feel like listening to Ben bitch and moan when he finds out I left you out here. Just hurry it up already." Wayne snorted glancing at Liam who was facing the opposite direction. "Your kind of a dick you know that?" Wayne couldn't see it but Liam just smiled, "So I'm told." Wayne grunted in annoyance as he stood. "Fine, just wait here. Only one more trap nearby I'll just be a minute."

Wayne stepped out of eye shot, he moved to a truck curiously placed in the middle of the woods. He opened the backdoor before opening his bag taking out some things and placing them in the truck. A twig snapped causing Wayne to turn and find two walkers heading his way. Hurrying he shut the door before going around the vehicle, unsheathing his knife he waited for them to near, when the first did he shoved the blade into it's skull. Pushing it over he readied for the second walker, but it wasn't there. He turned to his right as he heard it coming from the other side of the vehicle, he caught a glimpse just as it fell over. "So this is where you wandered off to huh?" Liam smirked wiping his machete against a tree wiping off the blood.

"This isn't what it looks like." Wayne said causing Liam to grin. "What? That your stealing supplies and stocking them out here for your own personal stash? No I'm sure that's not what's happening." The obnoxious sarcastic tone already giving Wayne a headache. "That's one way of looking at it. I only take a little at a time, and only parts of the supplies I find on runs, and nothing we actually need or that's running low." Liam's grin never left as he tapped his foot listening. "Sure sure." Wayne strapped his bag on before walking away. "I'm stocking up to leave, simple as that. This 'group' won't last, it's a sinking ship and I don't plan to be here to go down with them." Liam just shrugged, "Trust me, I get it. One thing though, I'm going with you." Wayne glared at Liam for a moment, "And why is that?" Liam turned to look at the truck a moment. "First off because you'll owe me for not telling everyone about your getaway car full of supplies, and secondly I don't want to be here. Too many people with too many variables, mistakes are just inevitable and all it will take is one to bring the place down. Ben's an idiot for bringing you all in, a few would have been fine. You and me can survive together easily, face it big guy two guns are better than one."

Wayne shook his head, he couldn't stand Liam but he had a point. "Fine, you've got a deal. We leave in two weeks." Liam smirked as he watched Wayne walk ahead of him, clearly pleased with himself.

--

A week later Liam and Wayne stood in a hallway, Liam told Wayne about his plan to take the AR-15 the day before they would leave, Wayne against the idea.

--

Another week later when it came time for them to leave.

"It's off." Wayne said stepping up behind Liam who turned around in surprise. "What's off?" Wayne shook his head leading Liam away so they could talk. "We're not leaving, I'm going to bring the supplies back in slowly over time the same way I took them out, no one will be the wiser." Liam took a step back, "Why the fuck are you getting cold feet? We're days away from leaving and you change your mind? You have got to be kidding me." Wayne sighed leaning back against the wall. "Maybe staying here is the best idea, if we stay maybe we can actually prevent this place from falling." Liam just laughed. "Seriously? You've gone soft on me." Wayne thought about it for a second. "Yeah maybe I have, I've come to care about these people and if staying helps them then that's what I'm going to do. Let's face it, our chances out there on our own aren't any better." "Fine you stay I'll take the damn truck and supplies." Wayne smiled mischievously, "I think not. Your staying too, or I'll just tell everyone It's your stash, besides I've got the keys in a safe place, hope you know how to hot-wire a truck." Liam's smile faded, "You'll regret this." Wayne half smiled as he stepped away, "Oh I'm sure I will but that's fine by me."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Austin made his way up the west stairwell, his search for Tony now leading him to the rooftop of the hospital, he was almost there when the sound of a door opening below him caught his attention. Curiously he peeked over the railing looking down the dark opening in the middle of the stairwell, he listened as he heard hurried footsteps that sounded like they went from the third floor down to the second. He waited a moment before the sound of rain on the window behind him caused him to turn, he could see the tiny sprinkles turning to more of an average rain. He assumed anyone who was on the roof would probably come rushing in now but he opened the door to the roof anyways, looking out he could see someone standing in the rain. He grumbled something as he stepped out into the cold rain himself, "What are you doing out here?" He asked as he closed in on the man, the person's head turned slightly, his left eye glancing at Austin.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When Annie reached the third floor via the east stairwell she ran straight to the Vipers Nest, Falisha and the man we're nowhere to be seen and there was no sign of Ben. "Sarge." She called out quietly as she peeked down a hall, the pistol she'd grabbed held with both hands. A part of her now regretting this decision she gulped, telling herself that she could do this she took a breath and pushed on.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Patrick?" Austin gave the man a questioning look as Patrick turned his head back up towards the sky. "You always do this when it rains?" Patrick smiles his face looking upwards, the drops hitting his face with his eyes closed. "Not always. The rain clears my head, it helps me think. It always has since I was a kid I find it relaxing...I came up here to think. I honestly didn't think anyone would find me here, especially you." Austin caught the crack in Patrick's voice. "It's freezing and your getting soaked...we're getting soaked. Let's go inside." Patrick stood un-moving, Austin huffed lightly staring at him from behind. "What's wrong?" "Nothing." "Don't do that. Don't play it off like that, we've been friends long enough and I know you well enough to know that something's bothering you. Besides no one stands outside in the cold ass rain for the hell of it."  Patrick's head lowered, opening his eyes to stare at the ground, watching the tiny splashes and ripples the raindrops we're creating as they collided with the puddles on the roof below him. "What isn't wrong." Austin cocked his head to the side.

"She loved me Austin," Patrick said, once again peering over his shoulder at Austin. Austin was caught off guard but stayed quiet keeping eye contact with Patrick, if nothing else but to reassure him that he was staying. "Audri loved me. That night on the rooftop when she lay dying in my arms I could see it in her eyes, that she wanted to tell me. I'd known for a while, and...I think I loved her too, I should have told her." Patrick sighed, placing his hand on his face, emotions making it hard to focus. "But I wanted HER say it, to come out of her shell. I did what I always did with her, I tried to push her, to help her through that shy side by letting her do it herself. To let her open up and be the wonderful person I knew she was, I wanted her to see that person, to feel that person. Now she'll never know how I felt, never know that I felt the same way about her." At this point he was trying to choke back the tears, they we're mixing with the rainwater running down his face but Austin didn't need to see them to know they we're there. "Even at the end when she was dying in my arms I kept my mouth shut, trying one last time to allow her the chance." Patrick turned so that he was halfway facing Austin, his head turned fully towards him. "What kind of person does that?"

Austin shook his head. "I owe you and Audri my life and the lives of my friends. Until the very end you we're doing what you did for her." Austin reached out to try and place a hand on the shoulder closest to him, intending to comfort Patrick in some way by letting him know he has friends that care. Patrick recoiled slightly taking a step away. Austin stopping his advancement seeing Patrick's reaction he took a step back to where he once stood, his hand going back to his side. Patrick half smiled and half smirked, "I'm sorry...I just..." Austin shook his head briefly, "No, I understand. You came to the rooftop to be alone." He smiled through the pouring rain, the both of them completely soaked. "I can go...just don't stay out here too long." Austin slowly turned to leave, wondering if it was the right thing to do, though he planned to wait in the stairwell to make sure Patrick didn't stay too long. He'd only taken two steps when he heard the quick sloshing footsteps and suddenly he was jostled as he felt Patrick's hands latch onto his shoulders, his grip was tight but gentle. Austin now stuck in place looked over his shoulder at Patrick puzzled. "Please don't...I..." Patrick said staring down almost panting, unable to meet Austin's gaze. "I'll stay. If you need me to, then I'll stay."

Austin moved slowly out of Patrick's grip turning himself around face to face with Patrick he reached behind Patrick cupping the back of Patrick's head gently with his right hand pulling them face to face, angling his head so that their foreheads touched. Austin's eyes watching Patrick's face, Patrick's eyes still lowered. "You have to look up someday." Austin could see the distress on Patrick's face. Patrick's eye's wouldn't fully clear, whether it was from the tears or the rain he wasn't sure anymore. "I just..." Patrick's words caught in his throat, finally he looked up at the dark amber eyes that had been watching him, blinking the mist away he pulled back so that their foreheads no longer touched. "I don't want to say it but I have to and I just need you to listen." Austin simply nodded causing Patrick to smile, "One thing I've learned these past few months is that I like you Austin, I 'really' do." Patrick watched Austin's features for a response but the other man stood unwavering. "I have to tell you that because I never told Audri and look how that ended, I NEED to tell you."

Austin watched Patrick for a moment, now that it was partially out in the open he could see that Patrick was uncomfortable, probably because Austin hadn't reacted in anyway, Austin let Patrick's words sink in. "So you're saying?..." "Yeah, I am. I needed it out there. It's new to me I've never..." Austin finally moved causing Patrick's to drown out. "Never what? Felt this way about another man?" If the cold rain hadn't already turned Patrick's face red Austin guessed Patrick would have been turning red at this point. "Oh...well. Not gonna lie it's a surprise. My gaydar must seriously be broken, I just assumed you we're straight." Patrick shrugged. "So did I."

"Like I said, I needed to tell you. Let's just move on." Patrick took a step forwards towards the door leading back inside. 'Move on', the words repeated in Austin's head, his forehead wrinkling as he narrowed his eyes. He and Patrick we're friends and he'd never questioned that relationship, never thought about anything more, he had little time to think it over before stepping to his left blocking Patrick's path with a questioning look. "What do you mean move on? You don't just drop something like that and leave without letting the other person process and respond." Patrick crossed his arms over his chest, "I wanted to say it, that was all. I didn't expect a response. You don't want to be with me, I'm still in love with a dead girl after-all, I'm not worth the time."

Patrick once again stepped around Austin heading for the door. Austin spun around grabbing Patrick by the arm spinning Patrick as well. "You don't get to do that, tell someone you like them or love them then try to tell them not to reciprocate." Austin wasn't angry but his tone probably made it sound like he was. "I make that choice for myself Patrick, It's not yours to make." Patrick was caught off guard as Austin's face closed in on his, his reflexes too slow to stop it, or maybe he didn't want to. Once their lips met and Austin kissed him all thoughts of pulling away vanished as he leaned into the kiss. His hand against Austin's neck as he felt Austin's hand gently on his own neck.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Luke, Alicia, and Kate came out of the hallway where everyone slept into the lobby. Izzie, Wayne, Shiloh, and Liam standing throughout the room turned to watch them enter. "Still no sign of them?" Luke asked as they closed the distance to the others. Wayne crossed his arms over his chest shaking his head, "No, and this storm doesn't look like it's letting up. But this is South Carolina weather we're talking about, it could be over in five minutes or five hours." Kate stepped by them up to a window, looking out through the cracks between the boards that covered most of the first floor's windows most shattered or half shattered very few remained intact, she couldn't see much thanks to the rain but just looking out held some sort of comfort. Izzie watched her fully understanding how she felt, they both had someone out there. "We should go look for them, it's been hours since they we're supposed to be back." Kate said not turning away.

"Don't be an idiot, we couldn't find them in this if we wanted to and I'm not risking my life on a chance." Liam spouted, Izzie reached out flicking his ear as hard as she could, causing the man to retract before rubbing the ear. "What he meant to say was that we'd only get caught in the storm ourselves. They we're probably on the way back when the storm rolled in and had to take shelter. I'm sure the roads are just slush thanks to the rain mixing with the snow on the ground." Kate glanced at Izzie who was smiling at her, she smiled back. Yeah that was likely what had happened but they we're still out there and still vulnerable. "When the storm blows over we'll figure out if we should risk sending a group to look for them."

Bailey and Ellis came strolling in from the same direction as the others had come, Ellis looking half asleep. "Shouldn't you two be in bed?" Alicia asked. Bailey just huffed, "There's nowhere I'd rather be but Annie has been gone a while. I figured I should look for her or something, and I didn't want to leave Ellis alone in the room. What are you all doing out here?" Luke stood at one of the windows staring out at the half circle car blockade, "Guys.." he muttered. Alicia took a glance around the room. "Falisha's on watch right? Maybe Annie's with her? We just came from the emergency room lobby, Cynthia was there but not Annie." "Ben's not here either, think all three of them are at the Vipers nest?" Izzie spoke up glancing at the stairwell down the hall. "Guys." Luke said once again a little louder not looking away from the window. Izzie sighed, "Ben and Falisha yes, Annie...is probably sticking her nose in their business." They all pretty much knew Falisha and Ben we're close, though Ellis just blinked at them, confused and tired. "Alright enough of that." Kate said ushering Bailey and Ellis towards the hallway. "You two should go back to bed, I'll go find Annie." "Guys!" Luke finally called out loudly causing Kate, Bailey, and Ellis to stop, everyone in the room staring at him.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Annie crept quietly down one of the halls. It was dark, the silence was nothing new but it was more ominous, maybe it was because she was nervous or alone. Finally she spotted the faint moonlight coming in the windows on the opposite side of the hospital, she was almost to the other side, and still nothing. She stopped, glancing through the glass located on one of the doors. As she continued on a few steps, the next hallway on her right coming into view, she froze when she could see a figure peeking around the corner ahead of her, luckily it was looking the other way. Raising her weapon she took aim. The figures head suddenly turned her direction, panic setting in as her chest tightened and her finger twitched on the trigger. "Annie?" Lightning flashed and thunder boomed causing her to yelp, the gun went off as she squeezed the trigger whether she wanted it to or not.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Patrick and Austin weren't sure how long the kiss lasted before Austin pulled back, searching Patrick's face. "You didn't stop me AND you kissed back. Sounds like you don't actually know what you want tough guy." Patrick wanted to agree, he opened his mouth to protest when a flash of lightning followed by thunder boomed above them causing them both to flinch. Not a second later had a single gunshot echoed from below them inside the hospital causing both of them to look towards the door in panic. "What the hell!?" Patrick said before the two ran through the sloshing puddles and back inside the hospital stairwell.

--

Neither noticed the person standing just inside, beside the door as they rushed by. Tony stood with his back against the wall, watching them as they ran by. His eyes moist, he couldn't hear them over the rain but he'd seen it all including the kiss. He wanted to be happy, both Austin and Patrick we're friends after-all, even if for the time being he was supposed to be mad at Austin. That wasn't what stopped him from smiling, it was very suddenly and painfully obvious that he felt something more for Austin.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Luke turned to them, pointing out the window, "Something's moving out there!" Luke wasn't panicking but he wasn't exactly calm either. "It's just some of the dead, the storm's probably riling them up." Shiloh said stepping behind Luke, being taller he could look out the window over Luke's head, he squinted trying to see through the rain to spot the walkers. "No, it moved too fast to be a walker." Luke said shuffling out of the way so Shiloh could see fully. And in fact he did see something moving, at first he thought it was likely the people from the run until whatever it was ducked behind something inside the barricade. Inside the barricade? Shiloh squinted harder in confusion moving closer to the window, there was nothing there to duck behind so how in the hell? The rain seemed to let up every so gently for a brief moment, or maybe it was the wind shifting causing the rain to change direction, whatever it was for a brief moment the outside was a little more clear to him, that combined with the sudden lightning flash caused him to stop squinting. Time seemed to slow as he looked at the others, mouth opening to warn them, a gunshot from one of the upper floors that resonated with the lightning had everyone looking up at the ceiling in shock. His words never made it, his warning drowned out by the loud bursts of gunfire.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Annie was breathing hard as she stared at the body before her, her arms slowly lowering as the pistol seemed to get heavier, the figure had slumped to the floor, tears started streaming down her face. She'd heard her name too late, the storm had caused her to react in fear, and the brief second of light from the lightning had lit up the figures face. She'd just shot Ben. It all sunk in and the man lay motionless against the wall. Her hand covered her mouth as she started whimpering, what had she done? Emotional and unsteady she turned and ran straight for the stairwell.

She exited the east stairwell at full speed, her mind telling her this was the wrong floor, that she'd preemptively exited the stairwell, but her feet wouldn't let her stop, they carried her onward throughout the halls. Suddenly her feet flew out from under her causing her to fall backwards, she'd slipped in something she realized as she groaned from the sudden force of hitting the floor. Putting her hand down beside her she felt a small puddle of something wet and sticky as she pushed herself into a sitting position. Looking down the could see it was coming from under the door she was beside. A noise of something moving inside caused her to stand quickly, with her eyes slowly adjusting she could see the substance she'd slipped in was blood.

For some reason she was unconsciously reaching for the door handle. Her emotions we're twisted and she wasn't thinking clearly, or maybe it was curiosity or a little of both but it was happening whether she willed it or not. Slowly she pulled the handle down pushing the door gently, it opening inwards with a groan. She stood staring into the dark doorway for a moment when something came ambling out at her "Anthony?" she asked in shock at how pale he was, reaching out he suddenly caught hold of her hair causing her to scream, firing two shots out of sheer panic, it was then she realized he was dead, that he was a walker. He was large and too much for the teenage girl to handle, it didn't take much to knock her off her feet with Anthony's face closing in. She flailed, kicking and pushing at it with her arms. The hand holding her pistol was locked against her chest by the sheer weight of the dead man pushing down on her, she had only just enough room to turn it slightly, pulling the trigger, the bullet only shaving against the side of its head, crying out in terror and frustration she pushed the pistol more before pulling the trigger again, this time hitting home. Anthony's body went limp, she shoved him off, scurrying backwards against a door still sniffling. She stood slowly and shakily, in her shock she didn't hear the door behind her open, she felt something press against her before her mouth and nose we're covered by cloth, she took a breath out of panic, something smelled oddly sweet she thought as her vision blurred as she felt her legs give way beneath her.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ryan was pushing forwards down a street, his left arm shielding his face, the thick rain had reached them moments ago followed by a little wind which was whipping the cold drops against them, between the wind and cold the drops felt like needles. He was focused, thinking of Kate and just getting back to the hospital, his mind wouldn't stop playing out any and all of the bad scenario's, why would someone try to strand them away from the hospital. Shannon and Klaire followed not far behind, both shielding their own faces with the hoods from their coats. Ryan was starting to pull away from them, "Ryan!" Klaire called out unsure if he could even hear them over the rainfall. Shannon watched as Klaire angrily ran forwards, "Ryan!" she called out once more causing Ryan to turn around. "What!?" he yelled back, the three now stopped. "There's no telling how long this storm will last we should get inside and wait it out." Ryan shook his head, "We're almost there we should just keep going." "It's hard to see, a walker could come at us and we'd never see it, don't be stupid!"

Ryan groaned, he knew Klaire was right but right now he didn't care. "If something's wrong we need to be there, end of story! I-I won't let anything happen to Kate." Ryan started to turn before Klaire grabbed the collar of his coat pulling him back to face them. "How are you going to protect her if your dead!" Ryan stared at her in half shock but brushed her hand off. This time Shannon moved to block his path, "I get it, she's like a sister to you." Ryan didn't want to hear it, trying to move past her but she wasn't having it. "My sister's there too you know, but doing this won't help. They're probably fine, everyone's there. Ben, Wayne, Izzie, Shiloh if anything happens they can handle it." Ryan rolled his eyes with an annoyed chuckle at her mentioning Shiloh, this time moving past her with force. Shannon sighed, once again the mistake with Shiloh biting her in the ass.

Klaire and Shannon both ran forwards on either side of him. "Just stop!" Klaire said, Ryan ignoring her. Suddenly Shannon moved in front of him slapping him across the face, it did the trick as Ryan stopped staring at her in surprise. "What happened to cool and collected Ryan? We wan't him back, he wouldn't be making these mistakes, what in the hell is wrong with you?" The two locked eyes for a moment. Ryan huffed before rubbing his face, "She's all I have left. My parents, friends, Jake, Greg...If anything we're to happen to Kate I'd..." "Oh wake up!" Shannon shouted. "We've all lost everyone, Izzie's all I've got left and Klaire has Bailey. But it's not an excuse!" Ryan nodded as he averted his gaze slightly, "She's all I've got left..." he mumbled once more "..alright." He said accepting it. The three moved into a nearby building soaking wet, clearing it before sitting to wait.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ben slowly started to regain consciousness hearing a gunshot, dazed and confused he turned his head searching his surroundings with his eyes, the pattering sound of rain against windows with a slight echo in the distance. His head throbbed, reaching around to the back of his head he winced as his hand rubbed against the bloody wound. He groaned as he stood up, turning to look at the wall that he'd hit his head against trying to piece together what had happened. It hit him suddenly, he'd been shot he felt a searing pain in his chest. Ben looked down, his hands going towards the pain, he felt the bullet against his chest the object absorbed by the bullet proof vest he wore. He yanked the collapsed bullet free staring at it before tossing it to the ground where it bounced and rolled, he was lucky that he'd been wearing the vest like he did most days. Where was she? What was going on? Where we're the others...wait what was that noise? He shook his head to clear the cobwebs, there it was, the familiar sound of gunfire, plenty of it.

"Annie!?" He called out hoarsely from a dry throat the moment he remembered seeing her, the muzzle flash had come from her gun. He recalled a split second of hearing her scream, along with something booming. The storm he realized glancing at the windows down the hall, "What was that girl thinking?" he muttered, picking up his gun with a grunt. The head wound wasn't bad he'd had worse but that didn't make the killer headache any better. He had to get downstairs and find out what the hell was going on.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bullets, glass, and splinters from the boards flew about the room instantaneously, everyone in the lobby dropping or running to cover, some we're shouting. Wayne and Shiloh both attempting to return fire from the windows but the constant spray of bullets making it difficult. "I can't see a damn thing, the bastards are using this rain to their advantage!" Shiloh shouted from below the window he'd been looking out, Luke crouched down behind him against the wall, without a weapon of his own he just stayed out of the way. Izzie was hidden behind the front desk along with Kate, Bailey, Ellis, and Alicia. She turned to Kate as she unholstered her weapon, "Kate get the kids out of here." Kate didn't need to be asked twice, the three running into the hallway. Alicia moved beside Izzie, "What do we do now!? They've basically got us pinned, we can't get to the stairwells to get to the armory and if we move to the back of the hospital they'll just walk right in."

Izzie didn't need to be told this she was well aware. Wayne had the only assault rifle in the room. Alicia, Izzie, Liam, and Shiloh all had their sidearms but that was it, they'd run out of bullets. "Don't let them in, we have to hold this room!" Wayne shouted to the others. Each taking turns popping out of cover and firing a shot or two.

Suddenly the stairwell doors burst open and Izzie could see Ben, he studied the scene understanding full well if he exited into the hall he'd probably be shot at so he stayed just inside next to the door frame. "What's happening up there!? We heard shots!" Izzie called out to him. "Shots? More than one!?" he yelled back at her as she ducked further into cover as a bullet splintered against the side of the desk. "Yeah, sounded like the last two we're right above us!" Ben stared out at them for a moment before moving towards the stairs. "Wait Ben! We need you here!!" She yelled but he didn't come back.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It was difficult to leave them but he knew someone inside the building had Falisha, and what would cause Annie to shoot again unless she'd encountered that same man, he knew it could be that whoever it was could have had done the shooting as well which made him sick to his stomach with worry. He trusted his friends, he knew they could handle themselves without him but if Annie and Falisha we're in trouble he needed to find them, and if someone was to sneak up behind them in this gunfight they'd all be dead. This threat had to be dealt with now.

All this floated in his mind as he roamed the second floor with his pistol ready, a small flashlight in the other hand he had them side by side so he could instantly see where he was aiming. That moment of distraction was all it took, with his guard down ever so slightly, heavy arms came down onto his with force causing the grip on the weapon and flashslight to loosen, before the weapon could hit the floor and before he could even react to the attack the other man had his own gun pointed at Ben's head, reaching down he picked up Ben's before taking a step back. The flashlight rolled pointing at the nearby wall causing the light to bounce just enough to brighten the immediate area. As Ben studied his foe, his own face went from angry from being caught off guard to dumbfounded and almost sorrowful look. "Chris?" The man smiled tipping his head into a courteous nod, "Sargeant."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Austin and Patrick came out of the west stairwell and running down the hall before skidding to a hault before entering the lobby. They watched as Alicia fired from behind the desk followed by Wayne from a far window, the retaliation shots from outside being twofold what they'd shot. Alicia noticed them from the corner of her eye, "Get the damn guns! We can't make it to the armory!" She shouted at them causing some of the others to glance their way as well. "And find out what the hell is going on upstairs, Ben took off!" Izzie called out after them.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kate raced down the hall with Ellis and Bailey ahead of her, heading for the ambulance bay lobby. "Cynthia!" She called out as they entered. She couldn't see the girl, "Bailey, keep an eye on Ellis for a second." The sudden fear and excitement had jostled the boy awake, he was looking around. Kate turned down the next hall bumping into someone, two small screams erupting before Cynthia shined her flashlight on Kate. "Fuck! Warn somebody next time!" Cynthia said as they both collected themselves. "No time." Kate said handing Cynthia her pistol. "I need you to watch Bailey and Ellis, you know how to shoot it right?" Cynthia looked as though she was about to give it back before glancing at Bailey and Ellis standing by the chairs and nodding. "Yeah." Kate caught the hesitance. "Hey, you can do this. Just watch them and keep them safe, you shouldn't even have to use it. There aren't enough of us in there, I have to go back." "Go." Cynthia said her voice just ever so slightly more confident. "You do realize I've probably used a gun more than her right?" Bailey said as Kate ran by.

Kate wasn't quite sure what she was going to do, as she made her way back to the others unarmed she wondered if it was the right thing to do, she couldn't be of help.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"How...w-what the hell are you doing here?" Ben asked in a state of confusion, Chris lowering his weapon. Chris just smirked while shaking his head, "You seriously thought we wouldn't ever come back? That I wouldn't?" For a brief moment Ben looked past Chris to see if he could spot anyone else. "The others are here?" Chris sighed as he paced a little from one side of the hallway to the other his eyes looking over and fiddling the pistol in his hand as if it was a new world to explore. "No, I'm alone. Ramirez, Cliff, Thompson, ...Val." Chris laid emphasis on Val which Ben picked up, when she was mentioned he could see Chris' eyes quickly dart a glare at him briefly.

Ben's confusion faded slowly and was replaced by a hardened calm as Chris' pacing lead him to stand slightly beside and behind Ben. "You once told me that you'd always have my back." Ben kept his eyes forwards, he could feel Chris staring at him he kept quiet letting Chris speak. "I'm sure you said that to the rest of them, but it was always you and me. I ALWAYS had your back, and you always had mine. Then the world started falling apart and I was gullible, I thought it wouldn't change any of us and that we'd stick together. I trusted you when you told us to leave, that we'd been called back to base, hell we all did." Chris sighed, his eyes on Ben but Chris was somewhere else, staring at something that didn't exist, but only in his own mind. "But then, suddenly you didn't have my back anymore, you didn't have any of our backs."

Ben didn't turn to look at Chris, a part of him wanted to but he couldn't look him in the eye. "I can't take it back." Ben said shaking Chris out of his stupor. Chris just smiled, "I know." Ben heard something in Chris' voice, something he couldn't quite pinpoint within those two words. "But I did what I thought was right." Ben continued causing Chris huffed, and Ben finally turned his head to face him. "You should have trusted me. Damnit Ben, I would have followed you to the end." Ben could see the pain and the anger in Chris' eyes. There was an eerie calm as the two stared at one another.

"Chris what did you do to Annie and Falisha?" Ben stared at him calmly causing Chris to grin. "I wasn't sure you'd catch on, playing dumb isn't like you." "They're dead you know?" Chris said causing Ben's fists to tighten. "After we left in the humvee we we're almost to Fort Bragg when we lost it. They are all dead because of you Ben...Sargeant, your the reason Val is dead. You sending us out there like that without most of the weapons, without you it was sending us to our deaths and I lost the woman I loved." Ben could see where this was heading and preemptively grabbed at Chris shoving him up against the wall keeping his forearm at Chris' throat holding him there. "I didn't know, and you should know I never meant for that. You know why I lied to all of you? Did you make it to Fort Bragg? Did they tell you what our real orders we're?!"

Chris just laughed, half choking because of how tight the forearm was pressing against his throat. "Of course I did. Our orders we're to eliminate all the patients and staff." Ben growled, "So you get why I lied to you all. Slaughtering them wouldn't have contained this thing, it was so far spread. We don't kill innocents." Chris spat in his face, "I know WHY you did it but what good came of it? Most of them ran off only to die anyway. You convinced four of them to stay?" Ben ignored the spit on his face narrowing his eyes at Chris. "How long have you been watching us?"

"I've been hiding out up here on this floor for two weeks, watching, listening. You chose those people over us, your family. Your decision cost too many lives. I saw you fancied that woman... Falisha was it?" Ben's eyes flashed in anger, Chris brought his boot upwards kicking forwards sending Ben sprawling backwards. Chris rushing forwards to grapple with Ben before he could regain his footing. Physically they had almost the same stature and physique though Ben had almost ten years on his former subordinate Chris.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Klaire sat peacefully in a corner of the abandoned home they'd been using as shelter from the storm. Ryan stood staring out a window, he'd said he just wanted to be on watch but she knew he was waiting for the rain to let up so he could get them to leave ASAP. The rain drops we're almost soothing, she let herself focus on them completely. It was a nice pit patter with a few large pings here and there, it had seemed completely normal until she started to focus on the larger pings. She sat up before moving to the front door opening it, sticking her head out. Now without it being muffled she could hear it all more clearly.

"Let's go!" She yelled pulling her head back inside both Ryan and Shannon giving her looks. "Weren't you just saying we should wait out the storm." Ryan said in half annoyance at the fact that she now wanted to do what he'd wanted to do earlier. "There's gunfire coming from the direction of the hospital do you want to talk about it or leave?" Both Shannon and Ryan moved to listen out on the porch as well. "How did we not notice that?" Ryan said angrily shutting the door behind them. "It's this damn storm." Shannon said as the three moved down the far side of the porch. "We should have never stopped!" Ryan yelled at them through the rain. Neither replied, just kept moving.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Out of breath from running up and down the stairs in such a short time Patrick and Austin made it to the second floor, moving to the armory. Grabbing as many of the assault rifles as he could he put the straps over Austin's head. "Why am I carrying them all?" Austin asked as the weight was packed on. "You get the guns to them, I'll find Ben. I think I heard voices before we came in here, I'll find him and meet you down there." Austin gave him a slightly displeased look to which Patrick just smiled before giving him a quick kiss on the lips. "Bribing me with kisses now?" Austin asked moving towards the door. Patrick shook his head, "Just reassuring you that I'll be right behind you." Austin smirked from the hallway, "Well, it worked." he said before running towards the stairwell.

Patrick loaded his own rifle before heading in the opposite direction, he could have sworn he heard voices this way.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Guns are here!" Luke called out to the others as Austin stopped at the far end of the lobby. It was too far to try and throw or slide the guns to them, he'd have to make it to cover. "We give him cover fire, enough time for him to make it to the desk. On three everyone open fire!" Wayne glanced at Austin who nodded that he was ready before taking a stance to run. "One...Two...Three!" Wayne shouted. All at once Izzie, Wayne, Alicia, Shiloh, and Liam brought their weapons up and shot out into the dark parking lot. Austin shot forwards, guns clanking against one another. The cover fire was there but it didn't stop some of these people from shooting, Austin could hear the bullets landing nearby. At one point he almost lost his balance, being front heavy from the guns he started to tip forwards. Normally he could have caught himself, but he was still soaked from the roof, his shoe squeaked against the tile floor as it flew out from under him. As he was falling he could hear the distinct noise of a bullet colliding with flesh, followed by a shout.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Coming Up: Will the survivors be able to protect their home? Death could be around every corner.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Optional Questions:
Will Wayne's decisions come back to bite him?
Was Patrick in the right or in the wrong about trying to let Audri say it herself at the end?
Thoughts on Austin/Patrick?
Was it a Shocker?
Will it last?
Who's in the most danger?
Favorite Character(s)?
Least Favorite Character(s)?
With what has been revealed did Ben make the right call?
(I tried to give a clear outline without giving all the information at one time. I dunno if it's confusing. Still haven't decided if I want to give it a flashback or not.)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tribute kind of video to these last few episodes, or the second half of the season I guess. It was fun to make.

I want to say for anyone who might be interested. The theme type song for Patrick/Audri is 'Things Left Unsaid' by Disciple. I find it goes really well with their relationship and what happened now that we know how Patrick feels. Personally I prefer the original, not the acoustic version. Just a rooftop instead of a hospital bed. ;p

Also 'Fix You' by Coldplay is very easily Austin/Patrick with some Audri mixed in.

There's a chance the finale might be super long because I'm trash at spacing out along a planned amount of episodes. So there might be a 13th episode or just a part 2 of twelve we shall see.

Sorry for the wait, I'm really trying to atleast have an episode out each week at most but it hasn't been happening lately so I apologize. I hate the episodes being so spread apart, I hope the lengths of the episodes makes up for it to some extent.

:3
Did I mention the episodes keep getting longer. I swear this wasn't planned.

Leave a comment! I enjoy them.

Thanks for reading, and being apart of this journey.

Anthony knew one place where he could be alone and it'd be quiet and that was the second floor, he walked up the east stairwell. He paced about the second floor his thoughts scattered, hands in his pockets he stopped for a minute against a nearby wall, his eyes closed and facing upwards he took a moment to relax with his head against the cold wall. There was no doubt they we're right to an extent, god was he tired. He took a moment here in the quiet, just a moment.

A dreamlike memory flashed very suddenly and viciously, screams coinciding with the image of a partial shot of blonde hair bloodied on pavement, glass strewn around. Anthony suddenly shot forwards off the wall, gasping for breath. These last few days he couldn't close his eyes without reliving the memory, it only drove him to work harder. He pressed his fingers against his tired eyes. "I'll sleep when I'm dead..." he muttered. His mind wandered to the missing weapon, they'd basically ransacked the first floor already and found nothing, maybe he'd do a little checking on the second floor while he was here, he could do something worthwhile and not have anyone worrying him to death. He wouldn't search long, maybe a hallway or two tops.

--

Liam sat in the west stairwell halfway between the first and second floor exits. He was deep in thought, trying to figure out how he could get himself out of this situation in case Wayne really did blab to the group. He was also trying to figure out who would take the gun and why? Was someone trying to frame him? If so that would mean that someone had heard him and Wayne speaking about their plans? Why would they wait until now? Was the distraction of this other group too good for this person to pass up stirring the pot. Liam growled in annoyance, there was no way it was a coincidence that specific gun had gone missing. It was then an out of place noise made it's way to his ear, he looked up above him, it'd come from the second floor.

Normally he might have ignored it but he was frustrated and maybe he'd catch someone doing something they weren't supposed to, he couldn't pass up that chance, besides he was curious by nature. So he went up opening the door onto the second floor he glanced both left and right before slowly shutting the door behind him. Now closer he could have sworn he'd heard footsteps, he quietly but quickly walked in the general direction of where he'd thought he'd heard them.

Anthony had gone room by room using the moonlight to his advantage, he cursed himself for not grabbing a flashlight while he was downstairs, and he wasn't going to go back down now. He was almost halfway through the second hallway when a noise came from somewhere in the inner halls of the second floor he heard some sort of faint clattering noise. No one else should be up here, he stared in the direction for a few moments listening for the noise but it never came again. Maybe it was nothing, but something in his mind tugged at him and so he started walking. The inner halls of the hospital we're much darker not having any natural moonlight from the outside.

He peered down a hallway as he stepped by, spotting a door that was halfway open. He thought it was odd because they'd always keep the doors on the second and third floors closed since they we're mostly unused. Curiously he walked wearily and quietly down the hall towards it, peeking inside he didn't spot anything out of the ordinary just the average hospital room, he stepped inside to get a better view of the room, his eyes slowly adjusting to the darkness. The only light coming from the hallway which was the moon and starlight being cast dimly throughout the hallway, as this was an inner room with no windows to the outside.

--

Liam stopped in a hallway, listening for anything. He felt like he was wandering in circles, that he'd never heard anything and that maybe just maybe he was just going insane. So he decided to go for a last ditch effort, "Hey! Who's up here!" He called out, letting his voice echo throughout the hallways, not too loud but loud enough.

--

Anthony's ear perked at what he could only make out as someone calling out from far away, the voice echoing and faint. He turned his head staring out the doorway he'd just come through, cocking his head sideways. "Liam?" He mumbled in confusion.

Anthony never noticed the movement within the shadows behind him, neither did he hear the footsteps as a figure closed the distance between them. He'd only partially felt the large blade as it entered his lower back, at first only as a dull ache before leaving him powerless and frozen, he felt the firm hand pressed against his shoulder, looking down he could see the blade that resembled a machete, it had completely passed through his abdomen, the hand gripped tighter as he watched the blade disappear back into his body. With no support from the hand or blade he toppled over. Now Anthony lay on the cold tile floor, unable to move and unable to speak, the pain and shock too much. He could feel the warm wetness of his blood pooling beneath him. His eyes darting upwards at the figure trying desperately to see who it was his mouth gaping open and closed trying to call out, but only tiny scratch-like noises we're being made, he could taste the metallic tang of blood in his mouth.

"You couldn't leave well enough alone could you?" came a voice as the figure left the room, closing the door quietly leaving Anthony alone and in even more darkness than before.

--

Nothing happened after Liam had shouted, other than his own voice echoing back, tapping his foot impatiently as he considered just going downstairs and going to bed, he'd just head towards the east stairwell looking down the hallways along the way, no sense in doing more than that.

As he walked along the maze-like corridors he was honestly only paying half attention, he looked down a hallway, going by when he realized something was out of the ordinary. He stepped backwards for another look, squinting in the dark he noticed a door ajar. Cocking his head sideways he made his way over, gently pushing the door open. His eye's went wide with anger, there lying on one of the hospital beds was the missing AR 15.

--

Anthony lay un-moving, his body was numb in the darkness. They always said your life flashed before your eyes before you died, he wished that we're the case. The only thing flashing was the same horrible nightmare that had been haunting him for the last three months, since it happened.

[]The Day before Anthony arrived at the High school[]
Anthony was driving a large pickup truck. His younger sister Tia sat in the passenger seat beside him, their father was in the back seat with their uncle. In the bed of the truck we're five others from their group, huddled together all holding some sort of weapon just in case. They'd been surviving with a few others held up at a hotel when they'd heard that the school was safe, for an hour they argued amongst themselves on whether to stay or go. In the end Anthony managed to convince them to go, not everyone went there had been others who'd stayed behind at the hotel.

"Anthony do you really think the school is going to be a safe place for us to live?" Tia asked cocking her head. He grinned, "Of course Sis, why else would we be heading there. I bet there will be plenty of people, supplies, shelter and who knows maybe even a boy your age that you can have a crush on." Tia puffed out her cheeks. "I can't believe you, hell on earth and your still trying to set me up. Get your priorities straight." Anthony couldn't help chuckling, "Well you be sure to--" His sentence was cut short when another vehicle slammed into them from the side sending the truck barreling over.

After the truck stopped moving he tried to gain some sense of what had happened, trying to shake dizziness from his head. The truck was upside down and he was lying on the roof covered in tiny shards of broken glass. He could hear the screams and cries from those who'd been thrown from the back of the truck, he could distinctly smell smoke. "T-Tia!" he yelled turning to the passenger seat to find it empty. He searched desperately in the cab only to find his uncle and father dead. Only then did he see the golden locks of his sister dangling outside the truck smeared with blood. His eyes watering as he crawled over the glass towards her. "T...Tia?" he asked his voice cracking in fear. It was then that he realized that Tia was gone, most of her body mangled and crushed by the truck.
[][]

Anthony felt the wetness in his eyes swell up into tears, the tear from his left eye following gravity and flowing down into his right eye, then dripping to the floor. His thoughts among those he cared about, 'I just wanted to keep them safe. I couldn't keep my family safe...I pushed them into going to that damn school, it's my fault. These people, this hospital, I wanted them safe. I tried, I really did.'

He felt his body giving in, it was difficult to even keep his eyes open, and as they slowly lowered he could have sworn he'd seen a glimpse of her golden locks before they closed shut.

'Tia I'll be seeing you soon. I'm sorry everyone....'

Morning had come and gone, it was about noon now as Klaire stood in the front lobby of the hospital, checking over her bag which lay on the tall reception desk, to be sure she'd grabbed what she needed. Shannon rounded the corner, eyeing Klaire as she adjusted her own backpack. "I still don't get why I'm going on this run." Klaire snorted, "We thought it best that you and Shiloh not go on runs together anymore. One of you had to come with me, I just happened to find you first." Klaire buckled the pack before slinging it over her shoulder as Ryan stepped up beside Shannon. "You two gonna be like this the whole time? Should I bring earplugs?" He said smiling sarcastically two which Klaire gave a sarcastic smile back. "We ready?" she asked eyeing the two of them. Ryan sighed, "Yeah but Anthony owe's me after this. I tell him to stop and sure enough he does, skipping out of the run. I asked for this I guess."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ben packed the small pistol's in a bag where they we're kept. He reached out a hand towards Annie who hesitated before handing hers over with a huff. "When are you going to trust us with them?" Ben shrugged as he put it away into the bag. They we're in a large room at the back of the hospital, where Klaire and Ben would take Annie, Bailey, and Ellis to teach them about weapons. In the beginning it was where Ben had taught most of the group about the more complicated weapons. They didn't actually shoot back here. Ellis sat nearby swinging his legs, Bailey stood behind Annie. "Whenever we feel that you can handle a gun responsibly." Ben zipped the duffel bag up before hefting it on his shoulder with a grin. "They've got to let us one day Annie stop being so impatient. You ask that question everytime." Annie glared at Bailey who just smiled back. "She's right, be patient. You'll earn it one day, maybe." Ben teased, Annie huffed as she strode down the hall. "Yeah yeah." She knew she could handle herself, she could handle a gun. Why couldn't Ben, Klaire, and the others see that? 'I'm not useless.' she thought in annoyance.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In a small neighborhood in the exact opposite direction to the hospital from the neighborhood where they'd run into the other group, this neighborhood was much more high class with larger houses. Ryan was shuffling through some of the higher cabinets in the kitchen, his height making it easier for him. Klaire was crouched checking the cabinets under the island table, Shannon entered from the dinning room. She rested her elbows on the island table, "Should we really keep looking? That last house had zip. This place is looted to hell already. Who chose this neighborhood again?" Klaires face was low enough so Shannon couldn't see but her lip twitched as she rolled her eyes, standing she slammed the cabinet shut.

She walked over to the other side of the kitchen checking another one. Ryan had his head turned from the cabinet slamming, watching them with one eye, he could feel the tension in the room. "Maybe we should hit up a different neighborhood." Shannon said lifting herself to sit on the island. Klaire turned to face her, "I've had it with the snarky ass attitude." The two glaring at each other. Ryan moved past them, "I'll check the upstairs. You two...do your thing." He didn't particularly want to hear them squabble.

"You and I have never gotten along. And I've put up with the attitude for so long because we we're the outsiders. Ben invited us in, you weren't on board so I let you have your time to adjust, I really tried to be patient. But it ends now Princess." Shannon pushed herself off the island. "Shouldn't have brought me along then." Shannon said with a shrug. "Oh trust me, we won't be going runs together if I can help it. Ben put me in charge of forming the runs and you just hate it don't you? I should've never let you and Shiloh go on the run together but he asked. It would figure that the only person I have to shift the schedules so that she can't go with two other people would be you."

"Look here bitch, letting Shiloh and I go on the run together was your mistake to make don't go throwing the blame at me." Klaire just chuckled. "You really are--" Klaire was cut off by a loud crashing noise and a small shout from above. Klaire and Shannon glanced at each other before quickly grabbing their weapons, "Ryan!?" They called out running up the stairs. Down the hall ahead of them a door to what looked like a closet was open, many objects lying in pile in the hall. Ryan peeked out from  under the pile with an embarrassing grin, "I'm not sure how after all this time I'm the first person to open this door." Shannon and Klaire smiled in relief as Kalire stepped over offering a hand, helping Ryan to his feet, things falling off of him as he stood. "Kate would kill me if I let something happen to you." Ryan's grin faded as he stared past Klaire, his face turning somewhat panicked. "Behind you!" He called out trying to move past Klaire as a walker approached the unknowing Shannon from behind.

It grabbed her before she could react bearing down on her shoulder, it's teeth within inches of it before Ryan had managed to get his hand on its head, keeping it just far enough. Between Shannon pulling and Ryan pulling they managed to rip her from it's grasp, causing it to stumble forwards into Ryan who had dropped his machete when opening the closet. "Shit!" Ryan called out just before a bullet passed through its skull, blood leaking down onto him as the walker went limp. The shot being in such close proximity left his ears ringing as he pushed the walker off of him but staying on his back taking a breath. He raised his head up backwards enough to look up at Klaire, "I'm so glad your a good shot."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Austin peered into the room he shared with Shiloh and Tony in hopes of catching Tony here but he found it empty. As he closed the door and turned around he spotted Shiloh doing something similar but at the room next door. Out of habit he wanted to just keep walking, but in the end he didn't. "Have you seen Tony?" He asked stepping up to him. Shiloh turned in surprise but didn't show it, "Not in a while. Have you seen Shannon?" Austin's smile disappeared into half annoyance. Shiloh picked up on this and waved a hand. "I'm ending our 'thing' that's why I wanted to talk to her, don't give me that look." Austin sighed, he was glad Shiloh was doing the responsible thing. "She went on the run." "Oh." There was a pause of silence between the two.

"Look Shiloh, we should talk." Austin crossed his arms over his chest and Shiloh leaned his shoulder against the door. "About?", Austin glared for a moment, causing Shiloh to smile, again with the button pushing. "I might have overreacted a little and I wanted to apologize." Shiloh shook his head, "You we're kind of an ass but I don't think you overreacted. That's why I'm going to end it with Shannon, then fix things with you and Tony." Austin smirked, "And here I was thinking that I was the one who had to fix things between you and me." Shiloh shrugged, "A joint effort couldn't hurt. We good?" Shiloh raised an eyebrow. Austin chuckled, "I was angry, you really didn't need to move to a different room."

"Guys!" Came a voice from down the hall, Shiloh looked over his shoulder and Austin peered around Shiloh to see Alicia. "It's about to rain, help us with the rain collectors!" She waved them to come with her. Shiloh walked backwards in her direction, "I got this, you go do your thing with Tony." Austin cocked his head, "You sure?" Shiloh nodded before finally turning around. Austin watched as Shiloh jogged down the hallway, that had gotten better than expected. Hadn't it?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cynthia sat in the lobby near the ambulance bay of the hospital, sitting in a seat she had her legs curled up against her chest and her chin resting on her knees, it was chilly. She was in her own little world when she saw Kate sitting down beside her. She really wanted to dislike Kate, the girl would always appear out of nowhere and just sit nearby. Usually Cynthia would be forced to start the conversations, just to get rid of the silence, which is exactly what Kate wanted her to do. But even as much as she wanted to dislike Kate and her actions she actually enjoyed it. Cynthia knew people talked, about why she was always so quiet, staying away from the group as much as possible, she wasn't stupid. They'd all tried at some point or another to befriend her, some gave up, some didn't. It wasn't that she wanted to be alone, not that she enjoyed it, she HAD to be alone.

"Ryan's out on a run again huh?" Cynthia asked without looking at Kate. Kate turned to look at Cynthia, "How'd you know?" Cynthia simply smirked. "You do that thing with your thumbs whenever your worried about something, and you do it everytime he's on a run." Kate cast her a confused look before looking down at her hands. Wow, she actually did. Kate couldn't help but chuckle, "I didn't even know I did that. Your pretty observant there Miss Lonelypants." Cynthia rolled her eyes, "It's hard to miss your thumbs having their own little party Mountainhips." The name calling was harmless, it wasn't taken seriously it was something they just 'did' it just happened at the right times.

Kate sighed sliding down in her chair, "Yeah I guess I am worried about him then." "He seems like a good guy, why aren't you two a thing?" Kate blushed a little, "We've known each other for years, he's like a brother. Besides I've always had a crush on..." Her voice drowned out as she went on her eyes staring out. "Jake." She mumbled silently. Cynthia finally turned to look at her, "So this Jake..he?" Kate nodded, "He's dead." Kate looked over locking eyes with Cynthia, both could see the hurt in each others eyes for a brief moment before they broke off. "Sorry." Cynthia said resting her chin back on-top of her knee. Kate's smile returned, "I'd like to think he's in a better place. He doesn't have to fight for survival, he doesn't have to see what this worlds become." Cynthia let out a shaky breath causing Kate to move forward in her chair so she could see Cynthia's face.

"I had a guy like that once." Cynthia gave a brief smile before wiping at her eye with her sleeve. "Had the biggest crush, we we're in a band together." Kate cocked an eyebrow, "You played an instrument." Cynthia laughed through the emotion, trying to hold back tears. "No, never. I was shit at anything like that, but I can sing. So I'm told." She shrugged. "So he...?" Kate started not taking her eyes off Cynthia. Cynthia shrugged, "He's gone, and I hope I never see him again. He's the reason I'm like this." She threw her hands forward showing herself off. "A wreck, a mess, I can't even be around anyone because I'm afraid...just afraid." Cynthia was at a loss at why she was spilling her guts out, she couldn't control it.

"That's not true, you and I are friendly to each other, and we are friends." Kate gently and slowly put a hand on Cynthia's hand, Cynthia jerked her hand away. "Hah. See? I can't." Cynthia was half laughing half panicking. The two sat for a moment in silence as Cynthia calmed down. "When the world ended, our friends they died one by one. It's a miracle I'm still here..." She gave a short pause in thought. "...no, more like a curse. I shut down, Bryan...his name was Bryan, well he did everything he could get high or messed up. Then our camp was attacked, we made it out by some chance with another girl. He quit the drugs and I grew a pair, and somehow we became a thing. He was sweet at first ya know?" Cynthia finally turned to look at Kate who was watching and listening, Cynthia attempting a half smile. "Then he changed, started back on that crap again. We couldn't go a day without being at each others throats over something or other. The girl we we're with her name was Kate too, she would always break it up." Cynthia wiped away the tears with a smile, "You remind me of her, she was just as stubborn." Kate smiled back at Cynthia. "Surely nobody can be as stubborn as me."

Cynthia's demeanor started to change as she searched for the words to continue. "Then one morning everything changed. Bryan gave us the last of the bread, said we should eat, that he'd be fine. White knight and all that right? Turns out he did something to the bread because I watched as Kate fell over not long after eating, I tried to get up and call for Bryan but I just tipped over myself." Another shaky breath escaped Cynthia as she tightened the grip of her arms around her legs. "When I came to Bryan was gone...and Kate...Kate was dead." Streams of tears flowed from her eyes as she jerked her head to look at Kate who's eyes we're damp. "She was so mutilated I wasn't even sure if it was her at first. That sick fuck..." Cynthia shoved her face against her knees.

Kate stood up moving to the front of the chair. "Cynthia I'm going to touch you now, I'm going to hug you and for this one damn moment your going to let me because you need it." Cynthia was shaking her head as she kept her face buried into her knees. Kate moved forwards wrapping her arms around Cynthia, at first she started to flail to try and escape but slowly she quieted down, giving in to the arms squeezing her tight.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Evening had come as Ryan, Shannon, and Klaire stepped out of a house they'd finished searching, bags over their shoulders. Ryan looked at the sun hanging low in the sky with his hand shielding him from it directly. "It's getting late." Shannon passed by him as Klaire stopped at his side glancing at the blood splatters on his shirt. The snow had started to melt somewhat as the day had been warmer than usual. "We'd better head back." He said, Klaire nodded in agreement, both moving off after Shannon.

--

Klaire slapped her hands against the steering wheel of the car she was driving, it had just come to a sputtering stop. "The fuck!" she cried out, eyeing the gas gauge. "Ryan your the mechanic how in the hell did you forget to gas this thing up?" Klaire said turning around in her seat to face him, he leaned forwards eyeing the gauge himself. "That's not right. I made sure it was full. I'll get the spare can, just pop the trunk." He raised a confused eyebrow before opening the door and getting out. He raised the trunk up, moving some things around before slamming it back down, "The spare gas is gone." He called out to Klaire and Shannon who we're both getting out now, Klaire stepping around to check herself. "Are you serious? You forgot the spare too? How can you be so fucking careless?" Ryan took a step back. "Woah! Hold on, I filled it up and put the spare gas can in the trunk, this isn't on me. Someone moved it." Klaire put her hand to her forehead out of frustration.

Shannon pointed down at the ground behind the car. "I'm assuming that's why we're out of gas?" Ryan and Klaire both followed her gaze to see a small line in the already melting snow on the road, right up to the car. Ryan dropped to the ground, pulling himself under the car slightly. He shouted something angrily and incomprehensible from underneath, "Quiet down." Klaire said looking around checking for walkers. Ryan slid back out, "There's a hole in the gas tank." Klaire leaned against the car. "When was the last time you checked it." Ryan just shook his head, "No, it's the kind of hole someone made on purpose." Klaire and Shannon both looked at him shocked, "You mean someone purposely tried to strand us out here!?" Shannon cried out in disbelief. Ryan crossed his arms over his chest, "Looks that way. Why else would they take the spare. Seems like whoever it was thought we'd be leaving later, I mean we're not too far from the hospital already. They probably expected the gas to leak out faster."

Klaire growled as she reached back inside the car for the weapons. "We'll be hoofing it from here then." "We should leave the supplies, they'll just weigh us down. We can't carry everything anyways." Shannon said grabbing her own weapon. Klaire shut the door starting to walk off, "We'll swing back around with a second car to get the supplies." "Atleast lock the doors." Ryan suggested still not moving. Klaire turned around cocking her head sideways. "A little glass won't stop anyone from getting in there." Ryan shrugged, "Yeah but if it's locked and they don't notice the supplies then maybe they'll move on." He had a point, Klaire realized as she locked the doors. The three trudged forwards in the direction of the hospital, "Someone's gonna catch hell for this." Shannon mumbled irritatedly. Klaire glanced at her, "Oh they're gonna get much more than that. This was an attempt at a death sentence, someone wanted us DEAD." Ryan was sure to stand in the middle between them as they moved. "Maybe..." Ryan said glancing at each of them, "Or maybe someone's trying to keep us from the hospital, delay us." Klaire shook her head in bewilderment. "Let's hope they we're only trying to kill us. We've gotta get back there, now." They rushed forwards down the street all thinking of their loved ones. Bailey, Kate, and Izzie. Up ahead they could see a dark cloud spreading out slowly from the west, it would soon be on-top of the hospital, and then on them soon after.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Annie, what are you doing up here?" Falisha asked from under one of the covers in the vipers nest on the third floor. Annie strolled over with a smile, "I thought I'd keep you company, couldn't sleep." Falisha shook her head, "What am I gonna do with you?"

Falisha and Annie spoke for several minutes before Falisha felt it was time to stop. "Look sweetie, I need to concentrate on keeping an eye out. So head back downstairs and get some sleep and we can talk again in the morning alright?" Annie sighed and wanted to protest but she knew Falisha was right. She nodded before turning on her heel, "Alright but you owe me the details about you and Sarge!" Falisha's mouth went agape. "Oh you little!" she grabbed an empty water bottle flinging it down the hall after Annie who was laughing as she ran around the corner heading to the stairwell. She was two steps down when she realized she'd forgotten to ask Falisha something and with a groan she turned back around heading back up.

When she rounded the corner and spotted the vipers nest her smile faded as she froze mid-step, it was dark, but with the moonlight she could distinctly make out someone on the ground, and someone standing by the vipers nest. The one standing was large and Annie could tell it was a man by the stature, and from the way he moved he wasn't one of the dead, the realization that Falisha was the one on the ground hit her. She covered her mouth so she didn't cry out before stepping back around the corner before rushing towards the stairwell. As soon as she exited frantically she ran smack into Ben almost knocking the two over, he looked like he was about to head up himself.

"Help!..." She started gasping for breath, frantically pointing at the stairs. "Nest.... Falisha ...somebody, somebody's up there!" Ben's eyes stared at her for a moment half expecting it to be a joke but he soon realized it wasn't. "I'm going ahead! Get the others!" He yelled at her as he moved by her and rushed up the stairs. "Sarge!" She called after him, she didn't want him to go alone. She turned to the counter nearby seeing the duffel bag that he'd never put in the armory. Rushing over she reached in grabbing a pistol out of it, now was her chance to show that she wasn't useless. She'd help save Falisha.

--

Ben moved on his feet quickly but quietly towards the vipers nest. He'd un-holstered his sidearm and held it in hand, pointing it down each hallway as he passed by. The years of training keeping his mind sharp and focused, even with the nagging thought that Falisha was in danger and that he'd seen the Viper's Nest empty from afar. Once there he scanned it over, he could tell there wasn't a scuffle, nothing was knocked over but clearly something had happened because things we're gently out of place, it occurred to him this was done almost to perfectly. The floor was large, it'd take time to clear every room. Glancing back the way he came he was wondering why the others hadn't caught up but he couldn't wait, for now atleast he'd clear the hallways, maybe the person hadn't gone far especially if they had to carry a grown woman. The clear patter of rain caused him to look at the large outer window as the streams of water started down the glass.

Turning himself he moved down the nearest hallway, in his haste he hadn't had time to grab a flashlight, looking into most of the rooms would be useless without one, even just glimpsing through the window's on the doors so he'd decided to forget that and move from hallway to hallway clearing them. At one point he thought he'd heard something, it sounded distant but he'd pinpointed it to a T intersection hallway. Slowly he moved to look down the right side, he could see window's to the outside at the very far end. Just as he was going to look left he caught the sound of a 'click', when he turned to look he could see the shape of someone in the dark. He whispered something just as lightning flashed and thunder roared almost in sync, he didn't hear the gunshot, only saw the muzzle flash. The force of the bullet hitting his chest causing him to fall backwards into the wall, Ben's body limply sliding down to the floor.

Coming Up:
A storm's coming, in more ways than one. Someone will find him/herself in over their head.
One survivor will lay everything on the table, will love blossom or will tragedy strike. The decisions one makes can come back to haunt you no matter the intent, one survivor find this out the hard way.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Optional Questions?:
Thoughts on Anthony and Ben?
Will Ryan, Klaire, and Shannon make it back to the hospital?
Who has/Where is Falisha?
Who should be apologizing to who in the Shiloh, Austin, and Tony triangle?
What's Liam going to do with the gun now that he's found it?
Longest episode yet, too long?
Should I add questions at the end of each episode from now on?

I started to in the beginning but I think I wanted to see people comment about what they wanted rather than just answering what I asked about, but I feel like it would be a bit more interactive if I did them. It wouldn't effect characters or anything if people answered or didn't. I'm not even sure I can come up with questions everytime,  haha. But if you guys like them or it gets more people to comment I'm game. :p
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Does anyone know someone who's good with images and would help me out? I don't want anything super duper fancy but something better than my monstrosity banner/image thing at the end of the videos would be nice. Since I'm no good with them. I literally found a nice picture of fall trees, added 'The Walking Dead' found a picture of silohouttes and pasted it onto it. I'd like something that looks better, lol. Maybe even something for the little image of the blogs too I dunno. Just a thought.

Answering question's doesn't change the story/characters in any way shape or form.

My preview from last episode is fail, the feelings bit will be next episode, haha.

Let me say I'm sorry for how long this took, I was lazy about writing the first few days, then I got the flu and just couldn't, followed by the ice which took out my power so the last week and a half has been fun.

Leave a comment! I enjoy them.

Thanks for reading, and being apart of this journey.

Wayne made his way to the second floor via the stairs, carrying most of the weapons they'd just been using on his shoulders, the weapons clattering against each other with each step. He'd volunteered to take them back to the room that housed the majority of their weapons which they called the Armory. He stepped inside the room after unlocking the door and walked to the metal shelf and started setting the rifles in their slots. Luke was supposed follow him up after collecting the rest of the weapons. He put the last rifle in it's slot, double counting to make sure how many we're missing still.

The door creaked as someone entered behind him. Hearing the footsteps near him he started to turn. "Luke I--" He was cut off by something slamming into the side of his head knocking him out cold and crashing into the rifle rack.

Izzie stepped into the room she shared with both her sister and Luke. Shannon followed behind her before sitting down on her bed. Izzie tossed a bag on the bed, rifling through it for something. "You screwed up big time you know that?" She said looking up and meeting Shannon's gaze briefly. Shannon crossed her arms, "I've gotten shit from like half the group already. I was hoping you'd atleast wait a bit before jumping down my throat. It'll be fine."

Izzie seemed to find what she needed because she put the bag back underneath her hospital bed bringing her full concentration to Shannon. "Will it Shannon? Your my sister and I love you but you can be so damn naive. Tony was hurt, we got shot at, and they could still come back for another crack at us. All because you and your boyfriend couldn't wait until you we're back at the hospital before you ripped each others clothes off."

"He's not my boyfriend." Izzie sighed. "Fine, your boytoy whatever the hell you two are to each other. I've given up on trying to figure that out." She threw her arms up in the air. Shannon rolled her eyes before turning to face away from Izzie, "I'm trying to make sure you survive. Maybe you hadn't noticed but it's not the same as it was before. The shit you pull won't cut it anymore." Shannon glanced over her shoulder. "I don't need you to 'teach' me. I can survive just fine, I've done it this far haven't I?" Izzie laughed mockingly. "Oh yeah you've survived this far. You've had the hospital, you've had me, and we've had Ben. All three of those things have kept you safe. But the moment your out there and you don't have any of those it's a completely different situation. If people don't trust you to have their backs how do you expect them to have yours?" She stared at Shannon a moment to see if the words would sink in.

"I'll be on watch." Izzie gave up, leaving the room frustrated. Shannon tried her damnedest to stop the tears but they couldn't be stopped. She knew they'd been idiots, that things could have gone much worse, and still could. She knew her relationship with Shiloh was an odd one, it was fun, it helped relieve the stress of this fucked up world, and they'd both agreed that's all it ever would be. She understood that she shared the burden for putting the group at risk but for a moment she needed her sister not another group member or a wannabe step-mother.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"We've all lived here together for so long why would someone start screwing with stuff now?" Tony asked. Others nodded in agreement. Luke had stumbled upon the unconscious Wayne while bringing up the weapons, now the two we're downstairs with several members of the group trying to figure out what exactly happened.

"Not all of us. What about the new girls?" Liam said shooting a look and taking a step towards Bailey who shot him the bird, "Fuck you buddy." "Hey!" Klaire cried out placing a protective hand on Bailey's shoulder. "Back off Liam." She warned moving partially in front of Bailey. "I'm just saying. They are the new guys." Alicia rolled her eyes as she rocked her hips to the side. "You are not serious. Now why in the hell would we sabotage this place? You took us in." Liam shrugged. "Why the hell do people do most of the things they do anymore? Wayne can you atleast tell us if it was a man or woman."

Wayne sat in a chair off to the side nursing his sore jaw. "Didn't get a look." Liam started to pace before Ben intervened. "Look, we just need to calm down." Liam shook his head, "No, Ben we need to do this here and now." Ben and Liam stepped towards each other. "There's no sense in making everyone paranoid and trying to cause a panic." Ben said staring Liam down. "There's no sense in letting someone untrustworthy, someone who'd attack one of us run free either. I warned you that inviting so many people in was a mistake. We we're doing just fine with the five of us." Liam shot back. "That's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that there is a smarter way to go about this without everyone yelling and blaming one another." Ben was getting agitated, Liam had to always oppose him at every turn. Neither was backing down. "Is there even anything missing?" Patrick asked trying to defuse the two, it seemed to work as Liam backed off turning his back to Ben. Ben looked at Patrick, "Yeah the AR 15 with the only red dot scope." Both Wayne and Liam's heads snapped to look at each other. "Alright then we find the gun we have the culprit. Let's just keep our eyes out for it and go back to normal, standing around getting worked up won't help anyone." With that the small crowd dispersed.

--

Liam headed down a lone hallway, he knew Wayne would be following him. However he wasn't expecting to be thrown against the wall and held there by the larger man. "I cannot believe you! Knocking me out, stealing that gun, then pointing fingers at everybody else!" He said in an angry hushed tone. Liam scrambled to pull at Wayne's hands trying to break free. "It wasn't me you moron!" Wayne let the man fall to his feet turning around rubbing his jaw before shoving a finger into Liam's face. "Bullshit, you and I both know it was you. I should rat you out to everyone here and now!" Liam adjusted his shirt where Wayne had clenched it before shoving Wayne's hand away. "I'll say it again, it wasn't me. Besides you rat me out and you rat yourself out. Then they won't trust either of us, probably throw us out or kill us." Wayne growled as he started walking away. "I'm beginning to think it's damn well worth it."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Three days passed since the incidents. There'd been no sign of the people they'd clashed with and no signs of the missing gun. At first they'd held off anyone going on runs but today they'd decided it was worth to risk to resume them as they needed to stay ahead as far as food and water went.

Outside the snow coated the ground but the snowfall had stopped. "Remind me how I got stuck on dead duty with you two out here freezing my ass off?" Shiloh said as he lifted one of the dead outside the car barricade, a hole gaping in its head from an axe which Shiloh was using. Patrick shrugged, "Depends, who did you piss off recently?" It wasn't a real question since he and Ryan already knew the answer. Probably Klaire, possibly Shannon, the usual. "Who knows." Shiloh said with a grunt as he tossed the body onto a pile. Ryan and Patrick looked at each other with a smile, and looks of 'he couldn't be that clueless could he?' "Would you rather be freezing out on a run?" Ryan asked, adjusting his scarf to fit better over his mouth and nose. "I'd rather not freeze at all. I ain't built for the cold, I should have stayed in Cali when this damn apocalypse hit. I could be out on the beach right now. How is it again all of the women get out of this?" Patrick helped Shiloh lift a larger body, "They run the place hadn't you noticed?" Ryan chuckled jokingly. Over time Patrick seemed to heal, he'd become more of his old self. Not fully, he could never fully be the same person but it was enough. They looked up towards a third floor window, Anthony waved down to them from the viper Nest seeing them look up at him. A second Viper Nest had been set up on the third floor at the other side of the hospital just in case the unknown group returned, two people on watch at all times. Austin occupied this one at the moment.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lukes eyes fluttered open, only just realizing how tired he was. He could tell by how far the sun had gone down that it was time to shift change. The sun was only half visible over the horizon, the light it cast combined with the dark sky and snowy ground cast an almost purple glow. "It's nice to see that beauty still exists in this world." He muttered as he stared out over the landscape. After a few moments he stood out of the vipers nest with a stretch followed by a shiver as the cold air infiltrated areas that had been covered and warm by blankets for hours. Only two stairwells they'd left usable, both at the front of the hospital but on opposite sides, the rest they'd decided to block and barricade. He was almost to the doors when he decided to peer down the hall at the other viper nest. He could see Anthony was still there even from this distance.

He walked halfway down the hall towards Anthony, "Want me to get someone to relieve you too?" He called down the echoey hall.  Anthony waved him off, "No, I'm good but thanks, Luke." Luke hesitated. He knew Anthony had been on watch all day even before Luke started his own watch when he'd taken over for Austin, but respectfully left.

--

Once on the first floor Luke found Falisha. "Your turn." he told her with a grin handing over the rifle. She almost stomped her foot like a fussy child before making her way upstairs. She could see Anthony in his own nest and walked up to him. "Anthony, how long have you been on watch?" Anthony simply kept his eyes looking out the window. She moved her body-weight to get comfortable to let him know she wasn't leaving. "You've been on watch all day haven't you? You can't be doing that." Anthony sat back in his chair ruffling the blanket over his legs. "I want to. We can't...we can't lose this place. If they come back I 'need' to be here. No one's going to get hurt." He looked up at her. "I won't let it."

She bent over and kissed him on the forehead. "You can't do it all on your own. Don't let all this weight lay on your shoulders. Share that with the rest of us. It's the whole point of us all surviving together is leaning on one another. You are not alone, don't you ever forget that Anthony." She moved out of the way before pointing towards the stairs. "Now go get someone to take over." She stood waiting for him to stand. "March!" Anthony gave in before standing, "Alright mom." he said jokingly which earned him a gentle smack to the back of the head. "I'm not nearly old enough to be your mother."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ben, Patrick, Liam, and Wayne all shared a room. Patrick sat on his bed, across from him Austin sat in a chair. "Have you even spoken to either of them?" Austin shook his head. "Not since the other day when everything went down, no." Patrick sighed laying backwards against the front of the hospital bed,  putting his hands behind his head. "How have you managed that?" Austin rested his chin against his arms across the back of the chair staring off into space. "Not that hard, Shiloh's been sleeping somewhere else and I only go back to our room to sleep. By then Tony's already asleep...I don't think he's angry anymore but we've got to get over this awkward first conversation to find out...if we're still friends?" Austin wasn't really sure himself.

Patrick breathed in deeply, "Just talk to him...both of them. You guys are friends right? Shit happened but right now, all three of you are alive which means you have the chance to put things right." Austin peered up from the floor to Patrick. "You still mad at Shiloh?" Patrick asked. Austin cocked his head in thought, "Not really? Kind of? I don't know." Patrick jumped off the bed walking over to stand in front of Austin. "The three of you seriously need to makeup. It's been three days, and with the world the way it is you never know how many you have to say what you need to. It's awkward I get it but get past it. Your moping is getting old."

Ben rolled over in his bed to face them, both turning to look at him. "Sorry we didn't mean to wake you." Patrick said, Ben raised a hand. "Nah it's fine. I wasn't getting any sleep anyways. But he's right Austin, friends you trust your life with are hard to come by in these days. You might be mad at Shiloh and he might have not deserve it but do you still trust him with your life?" Ben propped his head up on his hand with his elbow. "Alright you two I get it. Yes I trust Shiloh, I understand he made a mistake, I'm getting out of here before you two drag me out." Austin stood up leaving out the door.

"You sure about this?" Ben asked once Austin was gone. Patrick raised an eyebrow, "What do you mean?" Ben simply grinned. "You know exactly what I mean." Patrick eyed the older man for a moment trying to gauge him, he just shrugged at Ben. "Uh huh." Ben said in an underlying tone before turning back over. Patrick sat back down on his bed nibbling at his lower lip. "What did you mean?" Patrick called over after a few moments of quiet. Ben didn't stir, his back still towards Patrick. "You know." Patrick sighed, "I don't." "M'hm." Was all Ben said the two going quiet afterwards.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ryan had been on his way to his room when he peered out the window to the front of the hospital, noticing someone by the barricade. It was dark but with the moonlight bouncing off the white ground he could see rather well. Realizing it was Anthony he rounded to the door and stepped outside, the snow crunching under his feet as he wandered towards the barricade. "Why are you out here doing this alone? Especially this late?" Ryan asked as he watched Anthony heave a dead walker onto another one, he slapped his hands together looking at Ryan. "I saw a few ambling by the barricade, figured I'd get rid of them." he shrugged with a smile. "You've got to stop." Anthony gave Ryan a puzzled look. "Your doing too much, pushing yourself too hard. It's late, they would have been taken care of on dead duty tomorrow." Anthony turned away to continue what he was doing trying to mask his annoyance. "What? You've been talking to Falisha then?" Ryan shook his head no. "No but it sounds like I'm not the only one noticing you running yourself too hard. I've seen you sneaking out to take over for people on watch at night lately. Then you take watch again in the evening, you go on runs and do dead duty more than anyone." Ryan knew this because he shared a room with both Anthony and Kate.

Anthony angrily threw a body onto the pile. "Do you seriously have a problem with me doing my part and helping out?" "Hell yeah I do if it means your not at a hundred percent. We need everyone at their best that's why we do shifts. So no one is overworked." Anthony growled, "I'm a big boy, Ryan. I don't need you checking up on me." "Someone's got to if you won't do it yourself. We're all on edge after the attack but it's no excuse. We're safe for now." Anthony snorted before forcefully pulling off his gloves and hopping the barricade of cars. "Fine Ryan, have it your way." Anthony stepped past Ryan with a quickened pace clearly frustrated. "You know I'm only on your ass because I care right?" Ryan called looking over his shoulder at the other man walking towards the doors. Anthony shoved the doors opened stepping inside. Cynthia and Kate were seated just inside, watching him enter. He didn't want to speak to anyone, just find a quiet place for now, he kept walking not paying them any attention.

--

Both Kate and Cynthia kept quiet as they watched Anthony enter and leave. "What's his problem?" Cynthia asked. Kate sighed, "I dunno. He's just...stressed, I think." Ryan entered back through the lobby doors he gave Kate a wave which she returned as he stepped past them heading towards the bedrooms. He'd smiled when he walked past but for a brief moment when he entered she could tell he was upset about something. He was never good at hiding things from her, unlike Ryan's twin Greg who had been just the opposite. "He didn't look too happy either." Cynthia turned back to Kate. "Yeah...I should go ask Ryan what happened." Cynthia nodded, "That's probably best." she said as Kate stood following after Ryan.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Two figures wandered the empty second floor.

Both entered a room, one found nothing, the other's eyes going wide in anger.

Nobody saw the third figure, neither expected to find what they did.

The blade came out of nowhere.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Coming Up: "You couldn't leave well enough alone could you?"

What's happening on the second floor. One survivor will pay the price for another's past, will anyone else. Someone will come to terms and admit their feelings, will love blossom or will tragedy befall them.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What do you think is going on, on the second floor? Who's up there? Any theories? :p

So an unnamed friend *cough**cough* is impatient and texted me wanting the next episode. With my birthday being tomorrow and The Walking Dead  premiere being Sunday I figured  why not. :]
