When shop owners say they may drop out from the shops. Oh please! Do you say that so people will ask you to stay?
The shops on this site are becoming irrelevant to the majority of the players on this site. There are never designs for the players of Tengaged to buy for themselves or gift their friends. If a player wants to compete the 3 shop owners who go forward each week will make them feel bad if they try. The designers who are allowing the 3 shops who go forward each week to use their designs exclusively are one of the causes of this. The end result is that new players who don't have the T's to gift designers are shut out from competing. Another result is the same designs are posted and gifted to pretty much the same people. The people who spam designs get gifted also but why should that be the only way to get a design?
randomize as the owner of this site is also not a winner the way the shops are working now.

Yes I agree I had never been able to break 1.5k which is why I have failed to attempt my 4-7 tries if a shop. There needs to be new ways to get a shop like a raffle maybe just like stars
I agree that usually the only day designs are available is one day a week cjuddy. If more shops competed you would see designs being posted earlier and more often. That is the only way the current shop owners are forced to post designs other people can buy. You will only see designs gifted this week though because all the other shops gifted their friends. They may post 1 design each. The other shops not competing is not surprising. It's amazing how often this happens every week.
Randomize needs to do something similar to zwoop.
Have the moderators run shops and post a selection of items for a certain amount of t$ for a certain amount of hours.
Shops isn't really a "game" when barely any one benefits from it.
Designs take effort to make. LIke why would i allow someone to use my designs and i get nothing back. For me its like why even design? I would allow different people to compete with my designs but i only like one at time. i hate when my designs compete against one another.
I understand only letting one shop owner use your designs in a week ZIMY. The downside is that has contributed to the current shop situation because the only way they can move forward is to be able to gift the designers for 1 T. That is the reason I don't bid on shops anymore. A shop owner who is not a designer can't afford to gift designers and has no way to earn back the T's they spent to get a shop. Designers like to design but none of them really like to have their own shop because competing is stressful, expensive and you have to post designs people want and not necessarily the designs you want to post.
No offense diva1 but myself and others spoke up about this when it was first being discussed as a change but of course people thought it would make them more competitive...what they refused to see is as long as their are discounts the same people will find ways to make sure they are the only game...as I have discussed with you before if there were no discounts yes the same people would have shops initially but the market would quickly fix itself as people aren't gonna pay 5000 a week for a shop to gift as most would run out of Ts...just the same they couldn't jack prices up because the public would quickly start just not buying again driving down prices...that is the best thing that could happen and truly open it up ri everyone is if shops and design lab were made to separate things...one as unique one of a kind designs and then shops the game with no discounts...
The people who gift in their shop tho, rather not compete and get lots of designs for themselves and it be worth spending the T on designs. Or they have the option to post some stock to gain T back and gift the rest. Or they can try and compete but most people dont have a designer to use which is the point u r trying to say. The more shops that compete the more the prices go up. And most people who get a shop rather not risk wasting stock trying to compete when they could get designs for themselves and friends. If more people designed, maybe the shops wouldnt be how they are. but with so few well known designers, its hard to compete. I dont think its the designers fault, i just think their isnt enough of them to go around lol. diva1
As a designer, I think it's silly to allow people you don't even know to use stuff. Even though I do my best to allow many people who do want to post my stuff that permission, I would only let close friends of mine actually compete with them. It's a trust thing, and I of course wouldn't want to do anything to hurt my friend's position in shops as it is. Other than that, if someone wanted to use stuff for gifting I usually never deny them that chance.
I agree about the 2 kinds of shops but I don't see that as happening anytime soon. It would honestly be nice to not have discounts because spamming is too much work and it's annoying as hell to have to plus designs all the time. That would be a wonderful thing to be able to look at our messages and not have to sift through all the spam. If it would make these shops more interesting? It has my vote!!

i feel like rando should make it so when you bid you pick either competing or gifting. if u pick competing the lowest you can post for is 100T (like it would not let you go lower). gifting same thing but hightest you can post for is 100t. that way shops that compete couldnt 1t gift on easy weeks. diva1randomize
that or remove 1t gifting and make it strictly competing and lowest thing has to be 100t and make a seperate shop tab for 1t gifting shops!
or he can do every week 5 shops open plus 3 that advance like normal but make it so 2 of those shops are competing 3 are 1t gifting so when you bid you pick if u wanna bid on a competing or gifting. the 2 highest bids for competing get it the 3 highest for gifting get those (same as above lowest 100t highest 100t). a lot of ppl wouldnt compete so those shops would be easier to get so more ppl would attempt to compete then.

LOL YES I feel that way about literally everything. Tengagers honestly blog about these things in order to get attention, and even if they don't get it immediately, they start spamming those blogs. I know i've spammed blogs i've made before BUT i never spam my serious blogs because I know they'll get to top anyway.
I've had people spam me blogs asking if they should post porn. If they really wanted my opinion, they'd be doing it by asking through mails or Skype, not through a blog. It's such a desperate cry for attention.

I 100% agree with this, shops was one of the main reasons I would play on this site, however it has gone to shit on many levels. Especially getting discounts, most of us have a life and I cant spend day after day on discounts and then even have the chance of them expiring and not even getting a shop. There really doesn't seem to be much competing either, like in the past it was a blast to watch and so exciting with all the shops competing with all different designs, it was actually a "shops game" back then. Not sure if the other shop owners of the past feel the same as me, but i don't see any of them going for shops anymore so clearly it doesn't interest them either. Love Piddu 's idea as well.
I really hope I get through diva1 I have all new stuff I am excited to share! If I don't make it tho I wont have enough $T to buy a shop, I only have $500 left :( thats why I have to compete
iscotty Uhm my problem is your whole little clique gets the same designs. Don't take this the wrong way your designs are one of the best on tengaged but I do think this can EASILY change if you actually gave it a try. No, 250T$ wouldn't work. Because greedy design whores snatch them before lower levels can save up enough to even buy your guys's designs. Think of it that way.
They are people that save up to buy your designs, they love them yet you guys get gifted the same thing over and over again.
i dont see what the big deal is if diva1 wants to help the new players why doesnt she just gift some for 1ts instead of posting for 250 which will obviously have fast people getting it
shell have more chance of helping them
and if the shop changed no one could force shop owners into posting for cheap because there would be more competers and price is still their choice after all and it would get high anyway

For once i am agreeing 100% with you. It doesn't bother me AS much that people gift their friends with a shop. I do get that. But I do feel there is pressure put on anyone who tries to compete. They are threatened that they won have the buyers or have the quality of designs as do the other shop owners. I think randomize should alter the shops game but I'm not exactly sure of a good method.
Diva1 well there are more possibilities maybe my idea that i said you should be owning a full shop and can post whatever w/o permission for tengaged and ur shop will never close
There was also another idea by someone where theres is a 5th section to the shops page where mods/others can post a design from like 200-300 and can buy/gift but there wold be about 100 of those and there would also be special new designs like holiday

I think when the maximum price of a shop went up to 5000 T's and designs were allowed to be posted to 1000 T's is when the shops started to get out of control. I don't remember the current situation happening back then. I'm thinking the previous discount system was better too. It probably should have just been changed to allow the shop discounts to last for four weeks. Just think about how much less spam there would be now!

It wasn't me that changed the way discounts work iScotty. It was the players who complained they couldn't get a shop before their designs expired. I believe they were only good for 2 weeks at that time. It was probably the increased number of players that caused the backlash or possibly the short length of time the discounts lasted. I think having them last for 4 weeks is much better. The actual discounts were much better before they changed to being the amount the designs sold for in auctions. I think randomize changed them to make them easier to understand and last longer. He also changed the algo to give people who have discounts a better advantage in selecting who gets a shop. All three of those changes were good things in my opinion.
SexGoddx is the best shopowner, and I think those "Shop Bully" designs were meant so the actual shop bullies had a reason to feel good about themselves. Some people take shops so seriously.

ZIMY - I would like to see you compete again. You offered the designs you made at way more considerate prices than the current shop owners, including RNB who uses your designs. Honestly, I think if you and/or wonderland got into shops again, prices would decline.

Honestly the thing that bugs me about competing shops is they expect general people to pay 600+ for the same old churned out designs, and then when it comes to gifting the pretty new stuff when they are safely making it through, do they gift the people that spent money in their shop? Nope, they gift their buddies.. Thats terrible customer loyalty right there, tut tut.
The good old days when a person could get a custom design BlueStar! You don't see that very often anymore either. For players who have never been able to get a design it is still a big deal to them :(
Great Blog . Diva1 !! As a designer.....and one who was intimately involved in shops at one time (MY "G") and others ... I'm just sad at what has happened to shops.
There should be a price cap on designs pure and simple!!! Then we'd see a better quality of designs... and the shops who move on would be because they offered better designs.. not the same old thing for outlandish prices !!! The prices for back grounds is outrageous to me... some of them are nothing more than a cropped photo. There are of course, exceptions , but IMO they are still way overpriced!!!
I have offered my designs for competing or gifting.. with the stipulation that I, or someone of my choice, receives one of any design used.. but the competing prices are so high that the shop owners can't afford to do that ... and ones who want to gift for a T want to use old designs.... Designing takes a lot of work and energy... and I love it... but I personally don't think it's asking too much from the shop owners to do this since we don't make a thing off our own work... I completely agree w/ Zimy on this!!
When randomize opened up the discounts the way he did ... I predicted this would happen.....and sadly I was right... :((( The way shops are now is pathetic for the tengaged consumer... the designers... and even the shop owners ..
diva1 im so glad you made this blog. Shops game is HELL if you dont have designer friends. basically if you are newer to the site you have no shot in competing and going thru because the same people will always have all the designer support. Shop owners act like their gods if once or twice in a blue moon they post something for the public for a small amount of T but honestly it doenst happen enough. 550+ T for what, 1 or 2 designs, and the rest are all gifted to their friends. how about you dont gift one week and post for 300> T for the PUBLIC?!
TYSM. I have 595 T's I've been saving for shops but at the 500 T's point, I realized that shop owners only post 1 T's designs which make it hard for people like I who have earned the money to buy something. We are left to buy stuff in auctions that are usually just girl designs (and I prefer guy designs). so *end rant*.

gagaluv makes like the hottest stuff on Tengaged, but because of the same shops moving to the next week, week after week, she never gets to show her designs that she works so hard on, and cares so much about. Tengaged team, you need to get on this issue soon, or this game will probably fall apart.
Diva1 Also has great shops, but because of the same reason as gaga, she can't get her shop in. It is ridiculous!

Thank you to everyone who posted their opinions or ideas on this blog. In order for this site to continue to give us all enjoyment the new players have to be treated fairly too. Those of us who have a lot of designs need to think back to what it was like before we were able to have any designs. No matter what anyone thinks, we all know that having designs helps players get ahead in games. It shouldn't be that way, but having designs is like having currency on this site.
