Have you ever wondered what it is about Tengaged that makes you log in every day to see what is happening here?
I have a few theories on why this site is so addicting to many of us.
I believe that Tengaged is like a neighborhood that you can check in and see what is going on with players who you have come to know and become friends with. I think this even applies to players who you may not have had any interaction with too!
This site is also a place that you can have control over what happens with you. Those of us who feel we can't control circumstances in our real lives have a refuge here that we feel we can have some control of. We can log off if the situation bothers us. Real life doesn't have a log out option unfortunately.
You can also achieve some goals here like rank levels and there is definitely something about getting better at games on this site that makes us feel good about ourselves.
I believe that getting along with people on this site teaches us how to prepare ourselves for relationships outside of Tengaged also. There are players from other countries here and I've learned things from them that I wouldn't have learned from my personal relationships in real life.
I have learned something from every player I have met on Tengaged. I say that often and it is still true today.
These are my thoughts for the week and I wish all of you a Happy New Year!
It just lets people escape irl and not have the threat and worries of life trouble them, hence why posting pictures of someone and their Facebook is honestly pathetic, but Happy New Year Diva :)
I log on to this site because
1. The few friends I've made
2. I'm interested in everyone's lives and what is happening in them.
3. I am bored and have nothing better to do.
4. I've invested 4+ years into this site, so leaving when I feel I still have more to accomplish wouldn't be easy.
I left out being bored BengalBoy and teamjacz. I'm not sure why I left that off this blog because that applies to all of us on here now and then for sure! When I am stressed out by something I come here for relief. It's like an island oasis to me!
good theories but if this site teaches ppl how to interact in the real world I hope to never meet some of them in the real world as they failed that class...
That sounds like a good reason to me tinabeena! I used to blog something every day when I first joined this site. Well, maybe a couple of times a week anyway. I would do it to entertain myself mostly:)
NexusCain sorry to burst your bubble, but the internet actually consists of people from the 'real world' so i don't see how you judge people who do learn social skills.
I think this site does and can improve peoples confidence irl. The qualities they develop online are the ones you end up using irl. P.s happy new year :)
anas and I'm sorry to burst your bubble but if you could comprehend actually reading never did I say diva was wrong I said simply that some here failed that course...look how some here act and the nonstop attacks death threats etc they make in an almost daily basis...do you really think that shows growth??? Like I have said many times before to many come here to escape the troubles of their real lives such as bullying seeing themselves as ugly etc...once here however they become the very thing to others that they themselves came here to escape...I have seen this site help many be more confident but at the same time I have seen it make just as many worse...
Diva1 i work with manatees to help them recover from there injuries they occur in their natural habitat and after making life long bonds with these gentle giants i learned their preservation depends on knowledge so thats what i am going to do give knowledge to all those out there....starting with tengaged are you willing to help me?
I will be glad to help you spread the word. Manatees are huge creatures and it would be a shame for them to cease to exist. They appear fairly docile in the documentaries I've seen on them. They are like cows who live in the water iamtrey!
I'm not quite sure what you mean dustin24688642? I know there are responsibilities and situations we have in real life that can't easily be avoided regardless of who we are:(
i think the reason I've stayed coming back for the past (nearly) 5 years is the fact that there's always something going on on this website. you can log on at any point of the day and there'll be some new scandal or issue and it's just fun to participate in
also I love the community. I get annoyed with people here so much but like I enjoy reality shows so much that all the people here make for a good community, better than any other reality TV community i've ever found
I read and agree with most of this blog. I don't know what has made me come back recently, but I do like the idea of seeing what the people that I've met over the past 3 years on this website are doing. Somewhat of a neighborhood, I agree.
I go on tengaged for a more social standpoint. I don't really care about games (as you see my record and how often I play) so I don't know if I have "tengaged" goals to accomplish anymore (but at one point I did want to achieve the highest level, which I got) but I still thoroughly agree :)
I agree diva1! However I feel like ppl use tengaged as an outlet sometimes by making fun of people and bullying because they have had similar things happen to them! They think this is where they can be the tough guys for once and it's sad =\
Nexuscain I was just highlighting the general comment you made about people learning to interact on this site which looked like it was directed at anyone who did use it for that reason. But now that you've actually explained it, i understand your point.
Diva!!! ILY and miss you and this is a really great blog.
I agree that when you really get into this site and make a few friends or find your niche, it becomes a nice escape. Its a great way to meet different people from various walks of life, I quite enjoy learning about people's different experiences and all...I dont get much of that from my neck of the woods!
