Oh good on Dante! I liked the way you turned this song into your own with the guitar.
Vocally I think it was strong (from hearing your last cover) you did strain a tiny bit in the middle however only someone who has music and voice knowledge (like me) would notice so it's not the biggest deal. However I loved it, again wish I could post a cover
MrPokeguy9 Thanks a lot mate! I definitely think you should sometime, I always put it off because I'm too much of a perfectionist but I've realised fuck it if I strain a bit, sing a few parts off it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things it's better to just do it. I'd love to see you do it! :)
danteman453 well I mean I haven't really sung on Tengaged since Tengaged idol so I don't really know, However keep doing what your doing cause your doing great!
you do have a talent danteman453. what equipment do you use? we bought mini bibs a mic and recording desk thingy that she puts her ipad into, but it doesnt always record the vocals, just the guitar!!
Thank you bibbles, I use a USB blue yeti and record through that onto logic. I'm going to get a Shure SM58 and a focusrite DI though as it will be better quality recording for the guitar running it through the DI and then will just be easier to record with a compatible mic. I'm not really sure about recording on iPads but I'm sure i could be of some use if you need any help, feel free to message me :)
thanks danteman453. hubby researched it, and found one she could plug a mic and her guitar into and then record on to an ipad to upload on to youtube. he bought it as a surprise for mini bibs, but its not working out. i will get him, and her, to look at what equipment you have.
That was great! Great tone, pitchy in a few places but overall good!
A few things I'd suggest just because you can always improve:
- You really like to use your falsetto, but I think you are almost using it too much. Some places especially near the end, it kind of sounded like you were trying to perform a duet with yourself. Falsetto should be used as an effect, and the more often it is used, the less power it contains.
- Sometimes if a part is too high for you to hit naturally, you bury it a little bit and we lose the words. Then the next line you give off the confidence that should have been given to the previous line as well.
- If you want to progress as a singer, I think you should focus on increasing the the range you have naturally, without going into falsetto. Then you will also learn the importance of posture and the mechanics of how your body works and how it affects your voice.
Keep up the good work, and good luck! (:
- Oh also one nit-picky thing as I am more of a musical theatre singer...
