ONLY removed the UNANIMOUS vote option, meaning that one NAY could actually shut down the bill. It is STILL going to vote and actually has a BETTER chance of passing now.
Can we please wait until its ACTUALLY shut down (it won't be) before we start clutching our pearls?
Better detailed description I didn't write:
All McConnell did was block a ‘quick vote’ that would only pass the amendment with a unanimous vote. A single R could break and tank the whole thing. This likely would have happened, and would have ensured the bill died.
It is still very alive and open for a majority vote later today or this week. Read more than headlines people.
Carriexoxo24xo It's honestly not a big deal and the headlines are always sensationalized. He essentially blocked a request that allows votes by unanimous consent. The bill can still pass with majority consent, giving it a better shot of going through.
