1. Chels052_ / Closer / Chainsmokers / THIS IS IT CHELS!!! I know this is “basic” but I LOVE this song. It has memories for me because my friends and I were SOOO close the summer this came out and we would hang out all the time and listen to this song. A lot of people bash it because it did get wayyy overplayed but theres a reason it was number 1 for so long because it is CATCHY and overall a really good song. And it fits the category PERFECTLY!
2. Blahblahblahblah / The Boys of Summer / Don Henley / Ahhh! This is one of my favorite songs. At this point in the competition I have really gotten to know your music taste well and I appreciate that you stay true your tastes and usually submit different types of songs than everyone else. This is a fantastic choice and it is so underrated!
3. Becksta20 / California Gurls / Katy Perry / This song is PERFECT for this category! It is a really lighthearted, fun song, which is what I love in the summertime. It’s so catchy as well, whenever I hear it is ends up stuck in my head. Normally it would not be as high as it is BUT for this category it was a GREAT choice.

4. Lynn12 / Don’t Start Now / Dua Lipa / Another BOP from Dua Lip! Dua consistently puts out amazing hits that make me dance. This was another great song for the summer, and one of my favorite songs of the 2020 as well ❤️
5. David2560 / Con Calma / Daddy Yankee & Snow / Love this choice David! I honestly don’t think I’ve heard this version without Katy Perry but it was still great! I might like it more than Katy’s version too. Super great choice for the summer and I have been listening to this one a few times since you submit, so love it :)
6. Ciurrra / What Makes You Beautiful / One Direction / I was really torn on where to rank this one. I honestly considered sending you home... but I remembered I honestly love this song in a way LOL. It definitely fits the theme and there was a time when I looooooved One Direction and was obsessed with this song, and it’s definitely catchy. I love this song more for nostalgia but it’s still fun.
7. tbrown_47 / If It’s Lovin’ That You Want / Rihanna / I hadn’t ever heard this song before! I did like it but I didn’t LOVE it. Against some of the other songs this week, this one fell short for me. I could definitely see myself listening to it more though and maybe even growing on me.

8. franzella / Asereje (The Ketchup Song) / Las Ketchup / This song was interesting. I actually think it is really fun and catchy if you’re looking for something to dance along to, so I do think it fits the category well! The just dance video also helped to give the mood you were going for, so you BARELY scraped by once again.
9. crazybone5000 / Island / Bow Anderson / I have been getting really excited for your submissions each week because they are usually completely new artists to me which I love! Sadly this one wasn’t my favorite, I just felt like it was sort of plain or something idk. Or generic maybe is a better term, it was fine but just sounded like a lot of other pop songs to me that are coming out now so sadly it’s my bottom song of the round :( Thank you so much Alfie you were a great competitor and I hope to see you back for the live reunion and concert.
