Being a mod requires a lot more than many of us can even fathom. There's really only a select few number of people who have been able to take on that kind of responsibility, and each one has respectively had a number of things they've done right, and things they could've done better.
I do agree we need more moderation, but it's critical the people who are put in that position aren't planning to use their powers just to bring the ban hammer down on everyone and everything.
Ultimately people are always going to have grievances against moderation, regardless who's sitting in that position of power. Given the circumstances, moderators do what they can with the resources they have (which aren't many imo).
If more mods are put in place, they need to understand the giant responsibilities being placed on their shoulders.
Actions speak louder than words. Anyone can say they'd be a perfect mod, but your actions as a moderator will speak louder than any blog you can conceive.
