For the first time in Survivor history, a contestant was expelled for inappropriate behavior after being formally warned on-camera in a previous episode. Dan Spilo was expelled after repeating the behavior and it has caused such a firestorm because of how CBS handled the situation. Here is PEOPLE’s take on it:
Here is the rundown of what led to Dan's expulsion from Survivor. The explanation seems odd for two reasons.
1) Dan said multiple people defended him and stood with him, but we didn't see that when earlier incidents were happening. Nobody else besides Jeff has discussed tonight yet and I'm sure if anyone thought Dan was in the right, people would speak up like they did with the Kellee thing.
2) The physics in involved in Dan's statement about what happened do not make sense and it was obviously serious enough and a bad enough touch to the leg for someone to say something. This incident was also off-camera and nobody would have known if people witnessing the event didnt peg it as serious enough to mention.
I know that Jeff Varner is running around Twitter (he blocked me on Twitter after I lambasted him for the Game Changers incident) and Facebook preaching Dan's innocence, but Varner's credibility has been crap ever since his nasty behavior on Game Changers, which he tried to use for famous moments in the 'real world.' Dan, however, was warned and I can't defend him based off this information because it sounds too odd. CBS altered the parameters of the reunion show over this crap and it's just so hellishly mortifying that it's better to declare Season 39 a dead season.
I'd love to have a discussion with y'all about this. What are everyone's thoughts on the situation now that we have more pieces of the puzzle?

Right. Honestly Varner is an ass. I remember post season interviews and stuff from players like Aubry and they mentioned ALL HE DOES is talk shit about people. Not a good look if you ask me. He seems like someone that loves to call other people out...but when someone calls him out he plays the victim card.
CLEARLY Dan has a problem. I just hope an incident actually happened---> and the producers didn't fabricate a lie to removed Dan from the game. People are saying that since He/Dean/Tommy had a F3...that the producers wanted to pull the plug on that. HOWEVER...I obvi hope no one was violated---> but I just mean I wish that production would be more forthcoming with information.
