As most Survivor fans probably already know, Season 40 is slated to be an all-winners season and predicted cast lists are circulating the internet like crazy. A lot of the fans and even some alumni are speculating and outright obssessing over the fact that Richard Hatch, the very first winner of Survivor, is not included in the cast. The thoughts from them are that Richard should be included and honored for being the very first winner, but people tend to also forget what he did since winning Survivor: Borneo. Richard made some choices that had very serious consequences and most likely caused some serious pain to those affected by his choices.
I can give you two very important reasons why Richard Hatch probably wasn't given clearance by CBS to go to Fiji to play Survivor 40.
One: he sexually assaulted Sue on All-Stars 1 and thought it was cute/funny and if CBS put him on the show again despite canning Les Moonves for the same stuff, it would be telling the world they support those guilty of sexual violence.
Two: Richard Hatch served prison time for tax evasion, his crime was considered felony level, and there are certain places in the world that people cannot travel to if they have felony records.
People can love Richard all they want, but he chose to engage in bad behavior and now has to endure the consequences.
