How exactly is this outrageous? I have a photo of me as a little kid holding a vacuum cleaner and I think that I've also got other photos of me cleaning. God forbid kids learn to clean up after themselves when they are young instead of not learning to do anything for themselves! I think it's good when little kids learn to clean up after themselves instead of relying on their parents to clean up their messes and do everything for them.
Kids who never learn to do anything for themselves grow up to be spoiled and believe that they are entitled to consistent help from others without even trying to do it themselves. Even having disabilities isn't an excuse for not learning how to do things, as jobs can be adjusted to meet the abilities of the person doing them! People who whine about seeing little kids cleaning up after themselves or being taught self-reliance obviously think kids have the right to grow up never learning to do anything and turn into lazy slobs.
When you learn to do things for yourself at a young age, people come to feel they can rely on you to carry out more responsibilities as you become older. Learning personal responsibility is a life skills that everyone should have, but not everyone has it because parents, educators, and other influences are too focused on letting children be their friend instead of wanting to take authority over them. Authority figures give children all the power and they become so afraid of offending children that they don't enforce rules. Kids who don't have rules or responsibilities enforced upon them at a young age come to grow up believing that they don't have to follow laws or respect others.
That is why there are so many problems in society; people don't respect laws, personal responsibility or other people simply because they were never taught to or given any responsibilities to up hold. Such people could have also grown up in an environment where they were encouraged to do whatever they want and had no rules or responsibilities to keep them from getting into trouble. Parents or other authority figures try too hard to impress kids or be their buddy that they forget how easily their example influences behaviors as kids grow and develop into adults.

I didn't read because this blog is boring, but I negged cause I saw "Duggar" in the link and that's all I needed to know. I don't disagree with you, but you seem like you support that godawful family that enabled their own child to molest their other children.
You're right, like Jim Bob's public platform of hatred, homophobia, and bigotry, his obstruction of justice and collusion with the local police department, the gay reprogramming camp they have sent several of their kids to, the abuse and neglect they've subjected their kids too...
