As some of you know, I am in France for a tennis camp. I got here on Friday and yesterday was the first day of training.
So, this morning, we got up and did conditioning. Everything was going smoothly until one of the coaches decided it would be a good idea to do footwork on the fucking WET GRASS. So, one drill, I ended up slipping and tried to catch myself with putting my hand on the ground. Then, my hand didn鈥檛 land correctly and it ended up twisting into a sort of S-shape and it hurt so fucking bad. At first I couldn鈥檛 even move my wrist, my hand was just dangling. I put some ice on it to stop the swelling.
An hour or so later, I got to the ER and a while later, they started fixing my wrist. They did this by basically making me drunk and oblivious to pain, then gave me an injection to make me more oblivious to pain, then started twisting my wrist back into place. Once they did (I literally didn鈥檛 know they did) they started putting the cast on. The cast sucks because it literally does not move and you can鈥檛 get it wet.
I鈥檓 really disappointed that this happened because I won鈥檛 be able to play tennis for 6 weeks and I was really looking forward for this camp. (Im leaving in a few days) Idk if I will come back for the camp next year or not, but I want to.
Here鈥檚 the lesson for all of you: don鈥檛 do something if you鈥檙e worried it may injure you. If you do it, the consequrnces could be severe.
