TDA Ranking #13

Jun 29, 2013 by Bryce333
I just finished my rewatch of Total Drama Action, and I'm going to do a ranking of the fifteen competitors.

NOTE: This is a ranking of their characters on Total Drama Action, NOT their characters on TDI or TDWT.

#13. Owen

Here's the thing with Owen... he was a great character for the first half on TDI. But after that, he became a running gag that just wouldn't stop. The writers utilized him WAY too much, and maybe it's because I'm over the age of 8, but fart jokes just aren't that funny.

This season, Owen was the exact same way... for the first half. Thank god he got eliminated relatively early, and that would have been all right. He probably would have placed higher. But then, he got brought back for absolutely NO reason. The technical excuse was that he was a mole to cause drama for the producers, but no real drama ever came of Owen doing anything. And the biggest thing about the TDI franchise is that because each character is a stereotype, they all have their place as either a protagonist, an antagonist, or a side character. I criticized Geoff earlier for being made into an antagonist when he obviously didn't fit it. Well, if any character fails at being a villain, it's Owen. The few times where he actually TRIED to be evil, he failed miserably.

That's how Owen did this entire season. He was just a fail, from getting his jaw busted to getting voted off for casting a vote against a person with invincibility, to trying to be the worst version of a mole possible. AND he still gets credited with third place. Um, excuse me? He got brought back for 4 episodes and he gets THIRD? That's like saying Eva deserves tenth in TDI. The bitch survived one marshmallow ceremony out of three, that's fucking pathetic. And Owen already won! Maybe if he had brought something new to the table, it'd be different. But all he did was become a terrible excuse of a villain for the last four episodes he was in.

The one good thing I can say about Owen was that his relationship with Izzy was expounded upon. The two were funny together, and it was a good build-up to their break-up in TDWT. (Oh my Izzy is still one of my favorite songs from the show). But that still doesn't make up for all the irritating fart jokes we were forced to sit through.

TIP for #12: Was in the final five of TDI
