this obviously has spoilers so don't open if you're scared idiots. i think the best way to do this is give a brief description of the episode, and post the episode promo with it.
Honourable Mention #1: Murphy's Law 1x04
not gonna lie, i was extremely bored with the show the first three episodes. but this episode fuck maybe it says a lot that the darker episode is what finally did it but my dude Murph Dog was almost hung just for being a dick smh, and because bell dog wanted to keep some power. when they didn't wanna rightfully hang the 12 year old who committed the crime, Murphy and his minions went against the group trying to hunt down Charlotte, finally bringing conflict to the group and show. however the acting was still kind of lack luster at this point as the cast didn't really improve their skills until the next season
Hounourable Mention #2: Red Sun Rising 6x02
this episode was just something different, obviously now having the setting be either the ship some of them were still on, or an entirely new planet (rip Monty). things got crazy when Emori randomly tried to stab Murphy once they got to "Sanctum" in the episode prior. this episode though, basically had the toxins from the red sun causing the group to start trying to kill each other. i think this episode would have been more impactful if one of them actually died from it but what can you do. during all this O Dog trying to get the former Wonkru to kill her instead of killing herself, good acting. but the scene that got me intrigued for the rest of the season even though there was no expansion on it until the next season, was when that little kid Mary showed up and asked "are you here to take us home now?" at the very end of a solid episode.
Honourable Mention #3: The Garden 7x02
this episode was there to give insight and development to a main character they were randomly first introducing in the final season? but it worked. the 100 executes flashbacks at a top tier level and that was no different with the ones containing Octavia, Diyoza and mentioned above Hope. the birth of Aunty O and what really sparked the Octavia redemption arc for Blodreina which we started seeing the season before as the timeline was all fucked (intentionally though). i think having Echo (one of my least favourite main characters) accompany present day Hope here with Gabriel made me feel meh about it, but the flashbacks carried.
omggg these are such good episodes! the garden was my fave from s7 and red sun rising introduced my favorite sociopathic false goddess!! please tag me in the full top ten!!
