AToo Big to Fail? A Tengaged Essays a forum moderator for a website that had 10x the amount of traffic Tengaged had at its peak, I can assure you all that Tengaged can and will end some day. It might not be this year or next, or anytime in the near future. But it will in the next 5-10 probably. Perhaps it will exist as a mere shell of it's former self (minus the working functions of the site, like games), like an archival version.

Time and time again, I've seen much more beloved and global websites go dark. And just because a website is profitable doesn't mean it's worth the time.

randomize is a globally-recognized coder and has entered Coding competitions. He makes a shit ton of money at his main tech job as a researcher and developer; this is just a side project and hobby for him, among many others. Tengaged was one of his favored projects that he was passionate about. But his children are getting older, he is getting busier and older, and Tengaged is not his main priority. Like the 1000s of other popular users who have came and went over the years, he has checked out. He still checks in though and logs on, maintains the coding and ensures there are minimal bugs (the last I recall were the ones during Daylight Savings TIme, but I think that's been resolved).

This site needs a copy editor to fix all the typos and formatting errors throughout the website. And additional staff persons, beyond unpaid moderators that will inevitably get burnt out and quit or just leave, as most users ultimately do one day or another.

It's all going to end. But there will be time before the end. So cherish the friendships you deem authentic and real, don't sweat the drama on the site, it's not worth negatively impacting your self-worth or well-being.

As I prepare for re-retirement, I want to end my experiences with folks on a bright note. I don't want to be complicit in the toxicity this site can brew and bring out of folks. One of the few folks I have left from that aforementioned site is Iraheto, whom is inactive here, so all I have left are the memories. Since that time, users we both have cared for from that site have passed away and the site is just a mere shell. The site was in the top Alexa rankings and one day it was gone. ANd many other sites have as well over the years, even the titan of MySpace is what it is today. And facebook seems to be heading in that direction and who knows what Twitter will turn into.

Since the dawn of the Internet bubble, the biggest bubbles have always popped. ANd Tengaged does not compare to most of them in terms of sheer userbase, traffic, audience, etc.
