Kellyn Bechtold is a career counselor and a castaway from Survivor: Ghost Island and was a member of the Naviti tribe.
Kellyn started off on the dominant Naviti tribe, helping them win the early immunity challenges. On Day 7, Kellyn was swapped to the new Malolo tribe, where she and her alliance had the numbers. Kellyn was a huge advocate for the original Navitis to stick together. This made her a target for the original Malolos, who tried to get her allies to flip on her. Kellyn stayed strong with her alliance with Bradley, Sebastian, Desiree, and Chelsea, picking off the Malolos. On Day 10, she was swapped again, and Kellyn and Desiree was able to convince Angela to stay tight with them and vote out James.
Despite Domenick taking out her allies Chris and Bradley, Kellyn found herself still in a pretty good position in the game. She was close with the Naviti women, helping flush Michael’s Idol and blindsiding Libby at the final 12. However, Desiree opted to turn on Kellyn, which Kellyn found out, forcing her to vote out her former ally Desiree. At this point, Kellyn seemed to lose control of her game. She earned an extra vote while at Ghost Island; scared that Michael was going to play his Idol, Kellyn put two votes on Laurel, with Michael going home. Kellyn attempted to band the women together in order to get out one of the power couple of Dom and Wendell, however her plan fell through when Laurel stayed loyal to the boys and Chelsea went home, whom Kellyn’s closest ally was left in the game. Now in the minority, Kellyn tried to use Donathan’s behavior to her advantage, with even Dom and Wendell telling her and Angela to vote for him. However, the votes were tied and Kellyn went home in the revote, becoming the 14th person voted out of the game and the 7th member of the jury on Day 35. She voted for Wendell to win the game.
Kellyn is the first female castaway to go to Ghost Island and the first person to be sent there twice. She is also the first castaway to decline a game at Ghost Island. She lost 16 pounds before being voted out. After the show, she dated her fellow Naviti Bradley Kleihege, whom she thought of as her ‘ride or die’ before he was voted out; her plan was to take him to the end and paint him as the villain, but he got voted out before that could come into play.
