Desiree Afuye is a student and castaway from Survivor: Ghost Island. She was a member of the Naviti tribe.
On Day 1, she was selected by tribe leader Chirs Noble to compete in the puzzle portion of the first reward challenge. Thinking she would be unable to finish in time, Chris ended the challenge early. Despite this, Desiree remained immune for the first 6 days of the game. On Day 7, she was swapped to the Malolo tribe, where she once again escaped tribe. Malolo went on a losing streak and Desiree stayed Naviti Strong and helped Pagong Brendan, Stepanie, and James back to back to back, as she remained on Malolo when the tribes switched to three.
Desiree made the merge and continued to be Naviti strong while on the Lavita tribe. Her strongest ally was Kellyn, although her trust in Kellyn broke when she didn鈥檛 tell her that she was voting out Chris. Desiree went from lying low to proposing a plan to Laurel about taking out Kellyn and blindsiding her with the other Malolos. Laurel went and blew up Desiree鈥檚 plan by telling everyone that she was planning to betray the Naviti tribe. Desiree did intend on teaming up with Laurel and Donathan, especially Laurel whom she started bonding with over the merge. All of her allies on Naviti turned on her, except Chelsea and Angie. Angela gave up her vote, leading Desiree to be demolished in an 8-2 vote over Michael, whom she presented as a bigger threat. Desiree was the 10th person voted out and the third member of the jury on Day 27.
Desiree applied to the show by filling out the form online and submitting an audition video. Desiree was homeless for 1-2 months after her freshman year of school before she got back on her feet and continued college. She is the youngest female contestant on Ghost Island and lost 12 lbs over the twenty seven days. She voted for Domenick as sole survivor.
