okay first off, #1 is false... gay pride doesn't seperate anything ?? your logic is that in an ideal world gay people just conform to the straight norm always then ???

#2, They get attacked because of the homophobia left in society WHICH those attacks then bring attention to the problems still existing in hopes of change

#3, If you don't wanna be associated with it then just don't participate ??? It's just like abortion or gay marriage... just because it exists doesn't mean you have to participate

It definitely does seperate them though.
In no way does pride make straight people suddenly accept gay people.
A lot of people definitely look at it as a portrayal of all gays as a whole.
