My class is having a debate on whether fish is a meat or not. Lmk ur opinion in the comments.
The other side is being stupid and saying that fish isn't a meat because it lives in water......and is seafood. Some idiot told me that I don't know anything about fish because I don't eat it and I don't interact with it.
It’s not really a debate on whether or not fish is meat, because it obviously is a type of meat. It’s more so a religion debate because even though fish is meat, most religions, especially catholic, view fish to be “ok” for a few reasons. One reason is that fish are cold blooded and don’t breathe the air that we do. Another reason was that wayyy back when fish was for the poor and really not valued at all. The final reason was that some saint banned red meats because they were quote on quote turning people on and they wanted to enforce more abstinence in the world so fish was not viewed as a meat because it was viewed as holy and pure. Again it’s mainly a religion concept. Obviously fish is meat but I bet certain people would beg to differ based on their upbringing
