I agree! I think it feels so scorching because we've had a very hot couple of days consecutively. Before this year these 31 degree days were freak incidences that happened one day a year - not four in a row!

I know other countries cope better, but I think it is down to them having had more experience with hot weather. My house was not designed for hot summers and literally nobody has air conditioning.
