I mean everyone just has their own taste like I personally don’t see the appeal in many mainstream pop artists but like I can respect that some do? Like for example imo Demi Lovato tries way too hard to fit into the pop princess mold when her vocals just don’t work for it, but I understand that if she did more edgier music she’d lose a lot of her fans and demographic so I’m like okay fine
idk i feel like demi works just fine in basic songs like Solo, but i wouldnt call her solo music 'pop princess' like, i mean she tried, but there was always more edge to her than just poppy sound, even with confident and especially tell me you love me, which is a quite mature album if we're being fair Kaseyhope101
I’m more referring to the way she promotes herself than her actual music (she’s a very versatile artist) - songs such as Cool For The Summer, Sorry Not Sorry, Confident - although she certainly has a bad girl edge to it, it’s still mostly just not generic necessarily but definitely appealing to a pop audience - which isn’t a bad thing at all, and she definitely uses her range more than a lot of artists do.. I just have a lot of thoughts on demi, I guess
