Stealing from shops?

If something is posted for 50$t and I buy it.. is that stealing? Should I assume it is meant to be gifted and restrain myself?

I've never done this, I'm just new here and not totally clear on how shops and gifting works yet.

You can't really assume that your getting a gift unless the person tells you.

It's not technically stealing but it's not nice to do (not that I'm saying you would)
