Lets say I met someone on Tinder who is clearly interested in me and has messaged me first every time we've spoken, is it rude that I'm never the one to start a conversation? I don't want them to think I'm not putting an effort but messaging first triggers anxiety

Tell (your friend) to message them first to show interest. I wouldnt say its rude if its anxiety, but the person who is consistently messaging first might perceive it as rude or as disinterest.
