Survivor Cagayan: Voting With Emotion Is Always A Bad Thing

May 16, 2014 by Ad555
imageLast episode on #Survivor Cagayan tempers and emotions were at an all time high and a huge feud between Trish and Kass erupted, with both women calling each other out, Kass flipped off Trish in full frontal view of the jury and made herself even more unpopular than she already is (How was that possible?)

The result of all this saw Trish voted out 4-1 with even Tony flipping to vote his closest ally out. A lot of people have said this move by Tony was silly when he could have saved her with her normal immunity idol. I actually only partially agree with that statement, whilst it puts Tony in a weaker position within his tribe, he is still not the number one target come the next vote. Should Spencer lose the immunity challenge everyone should vote him as he would wipe the floor with them in front of the jury now. Also should Spencer win the immunity challenge, Spencer/Kass should feel compelled to vote out Woo ahead of Tony. Kass needs another polarizing figure alongside her at final tribal council and Spencer needs to secure the 'good guy' jury vote by voting out Woo.

Tony's vote for Trish therefore wasn't even a bad move, it is arguably a good move as it puts on the jury someone is most likely going to vote him. He voted without emotion to remove Trish from the game, whereas Trish on the other hand made one of Survivor's biggest mistakes and did vote with emotion.

Why Trish would ever think of wanting to vote Kass is absurd with how unpopular she is. Kass could have called her every name under the sun and Trish should still not have voted for her. The correct move for Trish last episode would to have been to stick to what Tony's original plan would have been, blindside Woo. If the Tony/Trish vote had of been Woo that tribal council the chances of Tony playing his idol for Trish goes up tenfold. Tony needs a Kass alongside him facing the jury to say, if you think I'm bad, look over here ... I played hard but fair, vote for me. So when Trish wanted to vote Kass, she undoubtedly sealed her fate in the game.

Had Trish played the game correctly, she would now be in the final 4 and Woo would now be on the jury. She made her first real mistake of the game during the last episode, and it cost her dearly.

Next episode should see either Spencer or Woo eliminated from the game, as much as Tony and Kass have differences they need to come together and realise that they need each other in final tribal council to have a complete go at. Tony's move has been ridiculed, I think unjustly, he's put someone on the jury who will most likely vote for him and saved the person who has no chance of getting any votes on the jury, all whilst not putting himself in a damnable position.
