Hello baristas, and congratulations on making it to the final six! With only 4 rounds left, every round gets more and more important when it comes to making a good impression as a barista. Despite the competition coming to a close, it's still anyone's game and I'm excited to see who will impress me in these last few weeks and steal the win. Speaking of stealing the win, Ms. KingGeek secured a second win with her Chapman punch last week!!! Congratulations to her for that. :3 This week, we're trying another alcohol theme. Who will shoot for the stars, and who will black out? It's all this week on Absolita's Barista Contest!
Alright, so this week, you six are going to be designing SHOTS! Yep, I want a liiiiittle baby alcoholic drink to really melt the lining in my stomach after not eating the entire day. I'll give you some advice on how to shoot your shot this week.
1. Make it fun! Don't JUST give me a shot, give me an experience. I don't want just a shot of vodka, make it taste good or something at least!!! I would recommend that you don't go very extra with the presentation, like don't add a bunch of shit that isn't part of the drink that I can't even eat, but also do feel free to add a salt or a lemon wedge or whatever else I can pair with the drink itself. I think I mentioned before that I like having extras that aren't just gonna be thrown in the garbage.
2. Chasers are OKAY as a part of the drink, but make sure she's not stealing the show. If you wanna send a Rum N Coke and have Valdamien come present your drink, go ahead, but lean into the rum part, not the coke part.
That's all. Submissions will be due... whenever they're due. I tried to start setting static deadlines and it didn't work so now I will just passive-aggressively mail someone if they don't send when I want to do judging. No more late penalties because everyone wants them so bad 😡😡😡
rimmed with pink sugar and corn syrup, this drink consists of vanilla vodka, watermelon pucker, and sweet & sour mix to create a simple sweet and aptly titled drink per it's garnish.. THE PINK STARBUST SHOT.
i've prepared some BLOWJOB shots! kahlua coffee rum, bailey's irish cream liqueur, some amaretto for that hint of almond flavor, topped off with some whipped cream. this aptly named shot is designed to be drank with NO HANDS - lay the shot down on the table, bend down and wrap your lips around the shot glass and anchors away. might be messy depending on how good your... oral skills are... but definitely a very fun experience to see who among you and your friends are spitters or swallowers. enjoy!
Final Six is no time to play it safe, especially with a competition more stiff than the drinks this week *winks at the camera*
I've prepared you a Blue Kamikaze, consisting of 1 parts vodka, lime juice, blue curacao, and ALL parts delicious. Shaken over ice and elegantly displayed in a traditional clear glass highlights the airy, breathable aqua hue.
Garnished with Pop Rocks™ around the rim, this shot is a surefire way to raise your spirits ;)
Now you are probably wondering wtf, this looks lame. Not! When you drink the shot, bite into the lemon, and it will taste just like a Chocolate Cake! I know it sounds a bit weird, but it honestly is one of the best tastes of your life! With a bit of Baileys Vanilla Cinammon and a bit of Iced Cake Flavored Vodka, you wont not love this wonderful shot!
