welcome back, baristas! congratulations on making it through soda week! you all presented quite the variety of drinks, from kinggeek's refreshing mcdonald's sprite to the drinks that were really just "not the worst". this week, however, we're taking things up a notch, and testing your skills to adapt to whatever this competition throws at you! who will win this week's competition, and who will become absolita's next. top. barista?!?!
okay, so... this week is gonna be kind of the misfit week that will probably throw people off and only serve to make this competition even less taken seriously than it already is, but that's okay with me! if we're running this series into the ground i want to be able to take credit for it.
anyways, let's get to the point! this week, you will be sending me SOUPS! i know, not really a drink, but i don't really have that many ideas to work with, and i am a big fan of soup so this will be fun to judge! i don't have any specific guidelines for this week. go wild. what i will say, however, is if you aren't going to send something good, at least send something interesting or funny.
best of luck, baristas. your submissions will be due tomorrow at 8 pm est, around 36 hours from now, with judging later that night (most likely i make only the most non-committal of commitments)

I’ve decided to try taking a slight twist on the classic soup and give you
All the perfect taste of a baked potato but in hot soup form so perfect for those cold days where your nose is just a little runny and your joints a little sore <3
This is Pho Banh Mi
A Vietnamese dish consisting of chicken, peppers, onions, scallions, egg yolk, carrots, and a signature hoisin sauce to bring the umami flavor.
today i've prepared a roasted tomato and red pepper soup - with the combination of roasting the tomatoes and red peppers in the oven bringing out the right amount of sweetness and smokiness that provides that warm, homey feeling while eating it. enjoy!
i've provided a gourmet take on instant ramen. while the noodles appear to steal the show, the soup, or broth, certainly brings attention to the palette due to its flavorful content. here we have an interactive selection of ingredients included: eggs, seaweed, and chicken. these are all brined with the additional sesame seeds and scallions encompassing the meal to allow for a hearty broth while staying true to the core of the dish.
certainly will make you go SLORP after you finish the noodles
Nothing better than the comfort of a warm cup of hearty chicken soup on those relentless winter nights. Rich, creamy broth houses flavorful chunks of tender, juicy chicken, vore-regulation sized cylindrical pasta, and a sprinkle of spinach for a contrasting pop of color, to boost both your immune system & seasonal depression.
