Whats happening to my friends list

ok...so i just added a couple new friend recently and i realized that they are all at the end near my really old friends from a long time ago like 6 months (wow so long ago...lol) so my friend list is kinda all over the place...was their a recent change randomize ? or has the friend list just random and i haven't noticed...anyone else notice this?
